Who would you vote for in a general election tomorrow?

If the next GE was tomorrow, who would you vote for? I've been unimpressed at decisions made by Labour since they came in and just don't have much faith in their long term plans. I've never even considered voting Tory, but also don't really see Labour doing much more to improve things for anyone. Will be interesting to see how things are in a few years time when the next GE comes round. Am I missing some really good stuff Labour are implementing?

Labour. No question. They've got long term vision which is what we need. They've made a few mistakes but they're a drop in the ocean compared to the utter muppet Tories who ruined the country. Reform couldn't govern their way out of the pub car park.

Can you give us a clue is to what this long term vision is? It's not obvious?

Labour. I think Kier Starmer is navigating international politics well but needs to rethink some of the policies at home.

My thoughts exactly.

“Reform couldn’t govern their way out of the pub car park”

I’m afraid a lot of people have the same thoughts about Labour.

True. Also wondering re long term vision talked about in pp

PartyAnimalQueen · 28/06/2025 22:12

Lib dem I think, at a push green (if tactical voting required). I never have and never would vote Conservative or reform. I was a Labour voter (lifelong) but they have lost my vote - imo they are a soft conservative/reform party now.

Meadowfinch · 28/06/2025 22:12

Not Reform or Labour.

I'd work through the other local candidates and vote on their local track records.

Meadowfinch · 28/06/2025 22:15

FridayNightFever · 28/06/2025 21:26

Of course Labour.
I think everyone should give them a fucking chance.

We did.

A year later I can't point to a single useful policy that has lasted longer than a couple of weeks.

Zonder · 28/06/2025 22:16

Labour. They're not what I'd hoped they would be but they're not Tory or Reform.

Dappy777 · 28/06/2025 22:17

Reform. My home town has been overwhelmed by immigrants in the last few years. Everywhere I go, even in the middle of a weekday, I pass groups of young immigrant men. My neighbour no longer goes into town on her own because she feels so intimidated, and another friend has been followed to her front door. My local woods have been hacked down to make way for two new estates, and a second massive estate has been built at the other end of the village. At least a third or more of the people who have moved onto those new estates are immigrants. Mainstream politicians have made it quite clear they are not going to do anything about about all this. They leave me no choice.

Slimagain · 28/06/2025 22:37

Labour

Katie717 · 28/06/2025 22:41

I’d vote for whoever has the best chance to remove Labour from Parliament.

They are quite simply appalling and will destroy the country as they are economically illiterate.

Im genuinely astounded that a single well informed person would ever vote for Labour.

Maddy70 · 28/06/2025 22:45

Labour. I'm actually really impressed with the rapid changes and works leadership shown in such a short time frame. Not perfect but still they would get my vote

Rapid changes? You mean all the U turns and flip flops?

This is what Keir Starmer has done for you so far https://share.google/FC7BQOmlBdyZKlcvG

So absolutely nothing that benefits me, then!

And a lot of the stuff is announcements about things that may not happen.

Exactly! Half of it is mere wishful thinking. Really misleading title.

Labour destroyed everything I was aspiring to. I retired earlier than planned precisely because of Labour policies, because it doesn't make any sense for me to make an effort anymore.

Still, this thread is scary.

Those of you who are going to vote Reform - what exactly you expect them to do?

It sounds like Reform have the best chance to get Labour out. Will you vote them?

nearlylovemyusername · 28/06/2025 23:00

Honestly, those of us who are still terrified of Reform - we got our notice. It's time to work on plan B

Wolmando · 28/06/2025 23:01

Maybe I missed it but I don't think anyone has said Tory on this thread

TheGrimSmile · 28/06/2025 23:02

Anyone to keep Reform out.

WoolwichWitch · 28/06/2025 23:04

Probably Labour to keep the other loons out.

TheGrimSmile · 28/06/2025 23:05

I have always voted Labour but cannot believe their stance on Palestine. I'm disgusted. So I will just vote for the candidate most likely to keep Reform out.

I think they’re finished.

We really need a centre-right party to appear. Not that I’d particularly want to vote for them, but there is a gaping hole on the right at the moment that I’d prefer isn’t filled with Reform or those parties further to the right of them,

This is a really telling thread OP.

Before the last GE mumsnet was very much 'Lets all vote Labour!!!' and as much as I love it I often find mumsnet annoyingly left-leaning. I would never, ever vote Labour personally but the fact so many responses to your question have already been Reform suggests that if Labour don't seriously turn things around and dump that useless flip flop of a PM then the country will be in for a big shock come the next GE.

Yup very telling. And has been really interesting to hear different perspectives. So many saying Reform, I wonder how the Tories will position themselves alongside Reform when GE comes.
