“intended to cause a negative opinion of Russia” - speaking of conspiracies.

Anything that causes a negative opinion of Russia is a win in my book 👍 of course the ‘evidence’ backing up the theory (at the time, other evidence has since come to light to disprove) is plentiful in Russia’s previous actions in the maritime space. The fact that the authorities at the time acknowledged that they had to rule out Russian state involvement proves that some experts somewhere had similar suspicions. And having suspicions based on fact is not a conspiracy.

Hope that helps though I’m not sure there’s any helping.

Great we are getting somewhere.

Your view is that anything that causes negative opinion of Russia is a win regardless of whether it is true or not.

Whereas my view is that the truth and reality matters and just because Trump or Putin lies on an industrial scale it doesn't make it right to do the same thing.

As for the facts that the vessel was sailing in a straight line and opinion that there was most likely no one on watch as this happens all the time, I did actually point these out to you at the time which you dismissed.

Yep that would be a pro Russian conspiracy theory.

This is why the truth matters, otherwise you get one group of people thinking it was organised by the Russian Government and another group believing it was organised by the British Government when the boring reality is that neither ship had anyone on watch. But because that truth is a bit dull then people prefer the more exciting but false versions.

Maybe clarify why you keep using the term hard left conspiracy theories without providing evidence

Anyway, enogu derailing, tariffs haven't been paused, 10% has been applied to the majority of countries. Penguins still have to pay. Russia, Belarus and N Korea don't.

Yep - And the reason I think that this has been done is as @Igotjellypointed out the rising yields on US Government bonds.

NotTerfNorCis · 10/04/2025 13:57

Getting distracted on conspiracy theories that Trump deliberately engineered this chaos in order to benefit from insider trading is not helpful.

Trump announced ridiculous tariffs that caused stock market panic. Then minutes before he reversed the tariffs, knowing markets would surge, he told his followers to buy so they could benefit from the upswing.

That's either corrupt or out-of-control stupid. It's hardly a conspiracy theory to point this out.

Firstly congratulations 🏆 and I'm proud of you that you are getting the hang of the concept of "irony".

Secondly as a general rule on conspiracy theories it doesn't work if you actually describe a theory as a conspiracy theory and state that you haven't seen any evidence for it. For example stating you are aware of a conspiracy theory that the lunar landings were faked but you haven't seen any evidence of this doesn't mean that you believe that the lunar landings were faked.

Always happy to help 😀

You’ve learned well from the Liar in Chief. Get the soundbite out there, then distance yourself from it, obfuscate etc because the seed will have been sown and many will swallow it.

Continue to rail about conspiracies and indulge yourself in your derisory intellectual fantasies. We see who you are.

OK so an investment analyst or a financial editor for a newspaper finds out insider information about a company's new product coming to market. They then openly publish this information to the public but do not invest themselves and do not make any personal gain.

How is that corrupt or insider trading?

Of course you could argue that the information was only available to those who are signed up on Truth Social but equally for the financial editor the information is only available to those that buy the newspaper or for the investment analyst those that sign up to their analysis.

I think you are missing a key difference.
Trump does not describe his views as conspiracy theories or state that he has seen no evidence to support them. He describes his views as facts (usually false).

On your logic no one could state that there is a 9/11 conspiracy theory and that they have seen no credible evidence to support by merely mentioning it that is implicit support.

TopPocketFind · 10/04/2025 15:04

Trump doesn't need to describe anything as conspiracy theories, his minnions will do that for him.

I don't get what you are saying?

Are you saying that Trump describes something as a fact and then his "minions" come along later and say that what he said was a conspiracy theory with no evidence to back it up.

Or that his "minion" come out with views that they say are conspiracy theories?

President Trump announced a 90-day pause on tariffs for most countries, reducing them to a universal rate of 10%, while increasing tariffs on Chinese imports to 125%. This decision was made to facilitate trade negotiations and respond to market concerns following previous tariff announcements.

Errrrr so what's this about - I thought everyone was queuing up to bargain with Trump over the tariffs but now there is a 90 day pause. And its for 'most' countries and making them 10% but after the 90 days what? some will be higher tariffs, some lower. Was listening to Bloomberg channel yesterday and the interviewed were not amused.

Conspiracy Theory Expert and Chief Defender of the Truth, I think that like many of Trumps advisors and experts, you need to step down.

Serpentstooth · 10/04/2025 15:21

He needs 90 days for the arse-kissing queue to line up and approach, preferably on their naked bellies over broken glass. I expect the rest of the world will be begging to approach this Prince of Diplomacy by then, in tribute to Bigly for all he's done.

And this is why manufacturing will not relocate to the US. There’s no guarantee it’ll be worth it.

Institutional investors or anyone for that matter if the price is low enough.

This is what I never understand . The American people are told they are in debt for billiions of dollars and they just seem to smile and nod. Who do they think they are in debt to? It's China or the ME. The US is such a country cut in half. The educated and the not so educated; the coast and the middle, the right and the left. They are blowing themselves up and leaving a huge gap there for China. Why? I will never know. Arrogance/ stupidity seem the obvious answers. Such a pity, that a country that had it all has ruined itself. Such a pity.

I know. I like the US. Breaks my heart personally.

The world’s richest people added $304 billion to their combined net worth, the largest one-day gain in the history of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, after Trump pledged to pause tariffs for some countries

shocking. He has promised to 'put America first', 'make America great' and 'make America richer'.

There is no way he can do that without impoverishing others.

This should be rephrased: 'put some Americans first' 'make some Americans richer'

I think the below sums up a lot of the problem with America.

People who don't follow the news are more likely to understand basic, politically-relevant facts than those who watch right wing media.

Only 14% of Fox (et al) viewers even know what a tariff is.

Is anyone watching this Trump car crash?

What?! Fake news, or in some quarters, conspiracy theory!

Serpentstooth · 10/04/2025 22:47

There's an item on BBC news showing Bigly- bragging and boasting about the money his sycophantic circle has made from his crash 'he made 2.5 million, he made 200 million'. Boasting. Not embarassed at all. While his Midwest voters look at their wrecked pensions, vanishing jobs and increased groceries prices. No conspiracy, just the sociopath President of the exFree World bragging about his economic mastery. Repellent.
