Can I just quickly say, (hopefully i speak for everyone)
This thread might descend into us taking the piss out of Boris Johnson and what he says, but we know people died and for anyone who lost a family member or friend, we know this incredibly tough for you and we send our love to you ❤️

(Oh I got all unmumsnetty there)

Thank you so much, it means a lot.
I'm sure we all have our own stories of how the pandemic affected our own lives.
It's good to know there is one man in this country who got through it unscathed 😡 😆

tobee · 22/03/2023 15:28

Bullshitting or gaslighting includes adding extra info in attempt to confuse people, to muddy the waters. All the stuff about testing and hand washing, higgledy piggledy building etc.

L1ttledrummergirl · 22/03/2023 15:28

Roussette · 22/03/2023 15:22

That is so true. So many people went through so so much.

Dh lost a family member, we had no funeral, that's one reason I'm so fucking angry. He's taken the piss out of us and many many others. It needs to stop and there needs to be accountability.

Trust me, if I wrote what I've said out loud, I would be banned. He's despicable.

DuncinToffee · 22/03/2023 15:30

I keep remembering the poster (so sorry I have forgotten her name) who lost her husband and nobody could hug, comfort and be close to her.

speeches lasted 15 and 45 seconds, yeah right

It was truly dreadful what they did to families who had family/friends who died and were in hospital.

Send unmumsnettly hugs to MrsLeonFarrell, drivinmecrazy, L1ttledrummergirl and everyone.

Is he just going to keep saying over and over again, that he wasn't lying becasue he was told he wasn't lying, and he is completely incapable of knowing wither way for himself?

Ah the I was only responsible for party entertainment and pot plants defence, excellent.

Snowbaldy · 22/03/2023 15:38

He’s sounding like he’s been coached by Prince Andrew

DC is not tweeting, he has a live blog on the go 😁

As yiu can imagine it is verrryyyy long. So here is an extra

14.31 Reason why he’s stressing me is simple — his rat brain tells him that the MPs hate me about as much as they hate him, maybe more!, so he wants them thinking ‘do I want to do what Cummings wants and do the trolley in?’

  1. 05You can see why we had to keep Bernard out of running Vote Leave — confused, missing the point, HOPELESS!

Flowers

I so agree. I loathe him. He stands for everything I hate with a vengeance.

tobee · 22/03/2023 15:42

Pannick seemed to say something at some point; couldn't hear or lip read?

drivinmecrazy · 22/03/2023 15:42

The longer this goes on, the tighter he's tightening his own noose.
There must be some Machiavellian quote or paradigm that would describe him taking himself down 😂

toomuchlaundry · 22/03/2023 15:44

So did his family use the cabinet rooms for their own purposes, as a playroom for example

Roussette · 22/03/2023 15:45

Oh yes, the interior designer and the wife.

He is fighting on, as if this was normal and OK.

No Boris, she did not just 'pop her head round the door'

And he KEEPS saying no one told him. No one advised him. He didn't know because he had to be told, and no one did

The 200 bring a bottle party. He was 'ushered out' to it.

Bollocks.

All this needing to thank and motivate staff? It's a joke.

IClaudine · 22/03/2023 15:49

He looks like a cornered rat.

minou123 · 22/03/2023 15:51

Ffs

elastamum · 22/03/2023 15:14

This is all bullshit and BJ knows it. I retired from my job in march 2021 after leading a business through the pandemic and I had my leaving do with over 200 people on zoom. It never occurred to us that a piss up was OK within the rules. He clearly thinks rules were just for the little people.

I work in education.

We had leaving meetings via zoom too. The only time anyone involved were in the same room were staff in the same bubble - we sat socially distanced on the zoom in the classroom after schools hours.

SlipSlidinAway · 22/03/2023 15:51

All this needing to thank and motivate staff? It's a joke.

He could have stood in the road outside number 10 and clapped staff as they left for the night. Surely a round of applause is enough to thank and motivate people working flat out in difficult and stressful circumstances during a pandemic?

Roussette · 22/03/2023 15:54

All this crap about his wife being entitled to be there because she lived there crap. He gets really cross when anyone questions this.

Surely surely she is not entitled to be at 'work meetings' which is what he is calling it.

He's losing it. He's really angry with the public for thinking he and others were partying.

I have to go out dammit

minou123 · 22/03/2023 15:54

He is getting cross now.

(Oh I got all unmumsnetty there)

Thankyou.

I didn't lose a family member during this time. But I had both my parents having chemo in March 2020. My mum continued throughout covid and beyond and even when she was in hospital and then a hospice last year for her final days I had to wear a mask in her room. This was May 2022.

Every time she was in hospital until her lash visit when told nothing more could be done (April 2022) she went alone. For 2 whole years covid dictated what we could and couldn't do with regards the time we had with her.

2 whole years.

Luckily her funeral and home restrictions weren't there in her final months - something I'm forever grateful for. But to think of I'd have just called her final 2 years in medical care a leaving do (and justified it by the fact she was dying) I'd have had more contact. Angry
