When Johnson was at his birthday bash, I was sat in the road on a fold up chair waving to the neighbours and not being able to hear what they were saying because they we were so far apart!

Of course, Ferrier was very wrong. So was Johnson, but to blame both the Police and a witch hunt for Johnson's illegal behaviour is pretty pathetic to be honest.

DuncinToffee · 30/03/2023 17:03

I think it is safe to say that none of us had a leaving gathering with 20 odd people in a small room without social distancing, PPE, masks, screens etc.

We stuck to the law and guidance as advised by Johnson

It's obviously pretty ridiculous to argue that people shouldn't have listened to Johnson and simultaneously believe that the Conservatives should bring back Johnson.

"You were an idiot for trusting him AND stupid enough to vote for him again."

'I went to a very nice tea party a few weeks ago'

What pray tell is a tea party? If it is drinking tea whilst in the company of others I think you'll find that was allowed at work with colleagues. I wonder if some of yoy went home seriously dehydrated and starving after a day a work. No flailing or scraping here thanks, just as always total bemusement. A tea party. Jesus.

Not unless it was absolutely necessary. Since when were leaving does absolutely necessary?

'But social distancing and only mixing with others when absolutely necessary was required. Parties where not necessary under any circumstances.'

Please do show me any footage that involved music, dancing and raucous behaviour which does tend to constitute a party in most people's opinion. You can't because there isn't any. These weren't parties, they were work gatherings.

I hope Ferrier loses their seat mind looking at how the snp is going it'll be the first of many.

@Janiie Any chance you could explain how sharing birthday cake and drinking alcohol were essential for work in Downing Street, and yet millions of children were banned by law from sharing birthday cake?

To be fair if any of us had to work with Johnson, we would probably need regular breaks to consume alcohol and leaving would certainly be a celebration.

mibbelucieachwell · 30/03/2023 18:13

What low standards our mps are held to when they can be proven to have broken the law, have incurred a legal penalty and yet the only sanction at their work is to lose a few days work.

Hang on though, Margaret Ferrier was kicked out of the SNP.....

Didn't Boris Johnson lose a job because he was known to have lied to his boss once before?

DuncinToffee · 30/03/2023 18:59

Ferrier also was ordered to undertake 270 hours of unpaid work,

Now that would be fitting for Johnson.

Isn't Johnson being paid to be an MP but isn't working, so sort of paid unwork?

It’s a gathering, usually in the afternoon, where you drink tea and eat sandwiches and cake. I’m surprised you’ve never heard of them.

If it is drinking tea whilst in the company of others I think you'll find that was allowed at work with colleagues

It really, really wasn’t. Where I worked, we were expressly forbidden from eating or drinking in company. I used to go out to my car. It was lonely.
We were allowed to work in a room with others, socially distanced and with limits on the number of people allowed in the room. We had to wear masks. Only one person was allowed to go into the toilets at a time.

Please stop stating untruths.

”see, told you they were idiots!” why on earth would they listen to anything that fool of a PM said?!

Oh, you are definitely flailing here, janiie. We all know, including you, a tea party is more than just a few people simultaneously drinking a cup of PG tips.

Hope you are enjoying scraping through the bottom of that barrel.

pointythings · 30/03/2023 22:51

Where I worked, it was 2 people in the (large) staff room at a time, max. Nobody was allowed to stay there, you could only make your tea and go back to your desk. Offices that had previously accommodated 20 people now held a maximum of 4, sitting at opposite corners. Fortunately I WFH most of the time where I had my DC, the oldest brought back home 2 days before lockdown because we saw it coming.

But DD2 didn't see her GF the entire lockdown because we had to bubble with my foster son's mother, who was extremely vulnerable due to her poor mental health.

Meanwhile Boris was having parties with booze, cake, music and no social distancing and lying about it.

I don't think @Janiie is at all funny, I can't say what I think of her because I would get banned.

borntobequiet · 31/03/2023 07:21

Yes, it’s distressing to read statements that come from such a morally deficient mindset.
