According to DH, I'm not allowed anywhere close to karaoke in case I break the windows.

XingMing · 21/01/2020 20:16

Hello, Scoundrel... have a seat in the warm, and tell us who you fancy for the Labour leadership....

SilverySurfer · 21/01/2020 20:22

I had just ordered a Glenmorangie when it was swept away along with the old thread. Could I have a double please?

I honestly think Emily Thornberry's comment about Boris having a problem with a woman leader/her are wishful thinking.

Will leave before the karaoke as tone deaf and after a few whiskies may be tempted to warble 'I Will Survive' Grin

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 21/01/2020 20:23

Why thank you Ming, most kind of you.

Keir Starmer will get the job. Not because I fancy him though. I just think he’ll win.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 21/01/2020 20:24

Maybe we should start a Lisa Nandy fan club.

XingMing · 21/01/2020 20:32

Keir is sort of competent, debonair and electable isn't he? He has to be the front runner, but I like Lisa as the underdog. RLB is wooden and ET always makes me think of Lady Tottingham from Wallace and Gromit.

EpicIndividual · 21/01/2020 20:34

Haha Silvery, got visions of your whisky being knocked off the bar in a fit of pique now. 😂

🥃🥃

He is Ming, and that’s exactly what they need. I just can’t see them taking a chance on anyone else.

XingMing · 21/01/2020 20:47

Brilliant! Why can't I do stuff like that?

Oh, because old dogs find new tricks quite hard to remember. My poor doggie (not quite six years old) has just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in her elbows. Given that I've had lots of dogs, this is the first time I almost wish for veterinary insurance, but as her elbow problems were congenital, they wouldn't have been covered in any case. The orthopaedic vet says he could CT scan and arthroscopy (£000) or try a novel stem cell therapy (£000, probably) or there's general care, dietary supplements and non-steroid analgesia.

If anyone needs a reason to consider the pluses and minuses of medical progress, refer yourself to a vet.

XingMing · 21/01/2020 20:50

And self-funding.

MrsSnippyPants · 21/01/2020 21:13

Here you all are!
A glass of fizz please, just leave the bottle, it’s been one of those days, ta.
I was just getting over the shock Of LangCleg being banned and was heading over here for a stiff drink to find you had all decamped! Or been forcefully relocated, not important, no names, no pack drill.

To stay on topic, the Guido stuff in the lobby has been very entertaining and Lisa Nandy has an air of Caroline Flint about her so I am looking fondly upon her for now.

Any canapés about? Can we send the boy out to Sainsbury’s?

EpicIndividual · 21/01/2020 21:13

Oh Xing! Your poor doggo!

💐

EpicIndividual · 21/01/2020 21:15

🍾 🥂

Here you go Snippy! Evening!

MrsSnippyPants · 21/01/2020 21:21

Thank you Epic cheers my lovelies

ommmward · 21/01/2020 21:24

Tell me more about Nandy. All I really know so far is that she voted in a Leaverly way to reflect the views of her constituents.

Thistimetomorrow · 21/01/2020 21:29

Xing when you referenced ET for a moment I thought you meant the real one as in ET phone home. Every time I see Guy Verhofstadt I think he is ETs double.

EpicIndividual · 21/01/2020 21:29

“Tell me more about Nandy. All I really know so far is that she voted in a Leaverly way to reflect the views of her constituents.”

Which speaks to me of her integrity at least. A rare thing for parliamentarians to be representing their constituents against their own personal beliefs. 🙌

The rest I’m not too sure, I believe she is a more moderate socialist from bits and pieces I have picked up? Can anyone confirm? And she is defo not continuity corbyn. So that’s a massive plus for me.

EpicIndividual · 21/01/2020 21:29

OMG Time. He is!

EpicIndividual · 21/01/2020 21:35

Just for ref. And the opportunity to compare and contrast.

Ignore my ramblings all. I got problems when I actually said ET was more real than Emily Thornbury Blush
And goodnight.

DustyDiamond · 21/01/2020 21:40

Glad everyone's finding us 🥰🍷

I'll join the Nandy Fanclub walking 🙋🏻‍♀️

Well... Emily Thornberry has 99 problems, but becoming Labour leader ain’t one. 😉
