I'm still so torn. In a single sentence can you say who you are voting for and why?

OP posts:

Labour. I want an end to austerity. I am a nurse in NHS. It’s on its knees.

Offred2 · 12/12/2019 16:04

Labour. Because I believe that all members of society are entitled to dignity and having their basic needs met.

Also - as a Jew I have no reservations about voting labour from that perspective.

slipperywhensparticus · 12/12/2019 16:05

I voted against conservatives im a mum with disabled children and a long term health condition

As for who I voted for ahhh I voted tactically he is a decent bloke with a chance to get in

selmabear · 12/12/2019 17:53

Labour. Lesser of two evils

Benjispruce · 12/12/2019 17:59

Labour. For the many not the few.

PortiaCastis · 12/12/2019 18:09

Lib Dems tactically as they lost to the Tories by 312 votes last time so a lot of friends and family are supporting them and we hope to get rid of the Tory MP

MrsSnippyPants · 12/12/2019 18:57

I'm only up to P13 but already I am seeing people being insulted for voting Conservative yet nobody is insulting Labour voters.

Really don't think calling people names ever changed anybody's minds?

I have voted Conservative because he was the only candidate who took my concerns about women's rights seriously; the Greens, LibDems and Labour candidates just parroted the party line (though the Labour candidate did offer further discussion so she is one to watch).

FGSJoanWhatsWrongWithYou · 12/12/2019 19:04

My local LibDem candidate is good. I am gutted that self id meant I couldn't vote for him. What a hill to die on Lib Dems.

mrsshardlake · 12/12/2019 20:09

Labour because I like my MP and am a long term member... despite finding Corbyn somewhere between useless and scary. If only Yvette Cooper had won the leadership election

Knowhowufeel · 12/12/2019 20:37

I agree with you there, @MrsSnippyPants, I don't understand why posters get so nasty and personal just because someone else doesn't share their views.
It's really uncalled for and must put some people off posting.
You're also correct in that it seems to be mainly against Tory voters.
I've found the same attitude from remain voters towards leave voters.

At the end of the day, everyone has a different lived experience, but people are so quick to judge, rather than trying to understand other's points of view.

CareOfPunts · 12/12/2019 20:41

I don’t condone abuse, but perhaps people who are opposed to the Tories and leave are angry and see people who support that as the root cause of what they think the country’s problems. And let’s face it, they’re not bloody wrong. All of this mess has been caused by the Tories and people voting Brexit.

Phoebesgift · 12/12/2019 21:13

Labour because I care about everyone in society, not just myself and I believe the Tories will dismantle and destroy the NHS.

Hayls17 · 12/12/2019 21:15

Labour

Most aligned to my views on the issues that are most important to me (Education and NHS). Local MP seems a decent guy and is very present in the community.

StealthPolarBear · 12/12/2019 21:18

Labour to reduce child poverty and hopefully cancel brexit

TemporaryName123 · 12/12/2019 21:21

Alliance (Northern Ireland). For no good reason apart from I don’t want DUP, Tory’s or Sinn Fein in.
