Any shy tories out there?
Just to get this straight - I believe in helping people just not people being forced/paid to help people. If it doesn't come from the heart it's not worth having.
I feel like people don't think I like people. On the contrary. I believe the benefit system keeps poor people poor.
Self interest is healthy and only when you have everything you need can you give to other people.
I just thinks it makes for a better society.

I’d be shy if l supported the Nasty Party too

bigspagbol · 28/01/2019 08:37

🙄

trapped2019 · 28/01/2019 08:38

Thing is, none of that actually works.

bigspagbol · 28/01/2019 08:39

It doesn't get a chance to work.
Neither does the left . Everyone becomes lazier and lazier.

‘Only when you have everything you need can you give to other people’

Is that why the Millionares in Westminster are forcing austerity on the country? Because obviously they have everything they need but no one else deserves anything👍🏻😡

aethelgifu · 28/01/2019 08:42

I'd be shy too if I were so ignorant I let the benefits system decide how I voted without considering the vast and far-reaching economic policies of the party I voted for and their impact on the country's state in the global economy.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 28/01/2019 08:42

Millionaires

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 28/01/2019 08:43

And the fact that you feel shy about supporting them says it all really. I’d be ashamed too.

aethelgifu · 28/01/2019 08:43

Everyone becomes lazier and lazier.

Erm, no, the very few become the vanishingly few who become richer and then immensely richer at the expense of everyone else. There, fixed that for you.

bigspagbol · 28/01/2019 08:43

The millionaires don't have everything they need and want. Who are you to say they have everything they need?

OP posts:
bigspagbol · 28/01/2019 08:45

I'm ashamed because every time I admit that I don't want to work for a charity and would rather feed my family and have more children, I am made to feel ashamed for my aspirations.

OP posts:
aethelgifu · 28/01/2019 08:45

OMG, the poor super rich! They don't have everything they want! Someone call a wwwwaaaambulance. Here's a newsflash for you big: if millionaires don't have everything they need, they can buy it. Hmm

bigspagbol · 28/01/2019 08:46

Wow

OP posts:
GrammarTeacher · 28/01/2019 08:47

So you don't want to help people and are ashamed when people point that out? Good.

aethelgifu · 28/01/2019 08:47

Indeed!

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 28/01/2019 08:47

Find me a Millionaire who doesn’t have everything they need!!!😂😂😂😂ffs you couldn’t make it up.

Poor old Theresa and JRM. Makes your heart bleed doesn’t it?

aethelgifu · 28/01/2019 08:49

I'm definitely breaking out the voilins, TheEmoji.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 28/01/2019 08:53

Absolutely aethelgifu!🎶🎶🎶

BearFoxBear · 28/01/2019 08:53

You should be ashamed.

I don't have everything I need, yet I feed my family, work, volunteer for 2 charities, and give regularly to 2 more. Not a chance I'd vote tory, never ever.

You should like the perfect selfish tory though.

Holidayshopping · 28/01/2019 08:55

The millionaires don't have everything they need and want.

What are they missing?

Walkingdeadfangirl · 28/01/2019 08:56

I believe the benefit system keeps poor people poor
I think its a lack of desire to work that keeps most people poor. The benefits system encourages people to stay on benefits, although I think that is starting to change now.

buckingfrolicks · 28/01/2019 09:00

You are trying to justify selfishness.

We've tried that since Maggie made it acceptable in the 80s. It's shit.

Pay attention to your sense of shame as that's the best bit of you trying to tell you you're in the wrong path.

bigspagbol · 28/01/2019 09:04

I have a minimum wage job and within my means.
I don't know what millionaires need or want but if I was a millionaire I know I'd want to be a billionaire.
And to everyone who says otherwise - there are people starving in Africa. Why don't you swap places with them if you want to help? Because we are all self interested and it's nothing to be ashamed of. It doesn't mean I want to hurt other people.
Think of when you're having a bad day - do you feel giving ?

OP posts:
aethelgifu · 28/01/2019 09:14

Why don't you swap places with them if you want to help?

Well, for starters, the Africans can't 'swap' due to visa restrictions. Statistically, however, people are poor due to wealth-hoarding on the part of a slim number of people.

PinkAvocado · 28/01/2019 09:17

Where do you put the cap for ‘having what we need’? Because if, as you’ve said, everyone always wants more and should be encouraged to go for it before helping anyone else, that would mean that no one would be helped. Ever. That is not being aspirational; that’s being selfish!
