I actually thought they would win, and there was nothing anyone could do. Now I think they will lose.

OP posts:

I'm the one who told you not to be daft, Vango, also been on MN for years under real names. (It's a shame we poor users are so othered)..

hackmum · 01/06/2017 11:22

And now Jeremy Corbyn has apologised to young people for the introduction of tuition fees:

www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/jeremy-corbyn-apologises-to-young-people-for-labours-introduction-of-tuition-fees-10391434.html

So does that make him more electable in your view, Ravenblack? Or just a sign that he's financially incompetent?

JeremyCorbynIsFit · 01/06/2017 11:28

May is a sly bitch. She announced a snap election, when she knew the polls were in her favour. Even with Corbyn gaining momentum now there is only a week left and not enough Time for him to gather more support I think. I really really want him to win; but it doesn't look like it SadSad.

NoLotteryWinYet · 01/06/2017 11:29

he's an incompetent fool looking for a few votes and further sticking the knife into the sensible policies of the blairites, I should think. Never miss an opportunity to stab the moderates Jeremy!

alltouchedout · 01/06/2017 11:30

Corbyn is a nice man, but his ideas are not doable. Anyone who thinks they are is deluded.

Oh yes, this is the way to persuade people Hmm

Orlantina · 01/06/2017 11:34

eally really want him to win; but it doesn't look like it

OTOH - there might be a reduced Tory majority which would be ironic given she called the election because she thought she would get a landlside.

Or a hung Parliament.

Ravenblack · 01/06/2017 11:39

Corbyn won't win. Common sense will prevail.

The country is royally screwed if he gets in.

olliegarchy99 · 01/06/2017 11:40

well said pollyperky Star
you said what I feel most succinctly and saved my typing most of that.
labour would be a disaster for this country - and it beggars belief that so many cannot see it within their own echo chamber of social media and as for the blatant appeal to the young with free uni tuition for 50% of school leavers is a nonsense.Hmm

Orlantina · 01/06/2017 11:41

The country is royally screwed if he gets in

Like high debt, low growth, low productivity, low investment in infrastructure, inflation rising, low payrises, high rent, low pay.......

thinkiamgoingcrazy · 01/06/2017 11:43

The country is royally screwed if he gets in.

As opposed to the country being royally screwed with the Tories at the helm. What is good about them?

[I am voting Lib Dem]

christinarossetti · 01/06/2017 11:44

I think it's been totally screwed for the last 7 years hasn't it?

I have found it is often the people who are against the proper training of the young and the tuition free University are the very same ones who hate the pesky foreigners - the doctors, the nurses, the social care workers - for coming here and working.

It's another thing that doesn't really make sense.

Ravenblack · 01/06/2017 11:46

As I said, I agree with Polly's posts too, and your too Ollie.

I also find it incredulous that people who are quite far left, often attack people personally who don't think as they do, and mock and berate. I don't see right leaning people doing that to the left leaning people.

makeourfuture · 01/06/2017 11:46

What we do know:

  • Debt is skyrocketing
  • the poor, disabled, sick and elderly are being attacked.
  • The housing market is broken
  • the NHS is in trouble
  • schools are being defunded
  • the economy is slowing

The Tories have:

  • No plan for Brexit
  • A thrown-together, un-costed, puff-filled manifesto
  • No plans for economic growth
  • Very questionable security stances (Trump)

Where is May?

Orlantina · 01/06/2017 11:49

I don't see right leaning people doing that to the left leaning people

We see what we want to see.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 01/06/2017 11:52

Ravenblack Yes especially when disabled people are 'swinging the lead' right Raven? Or has your disablist opinion changed since last night?

histinyhandsarefrozen · 01/06/2017 11:54

I'd be ashamed to be a Labour voter though, why would I want to align myself with the absolute dregs of society?

Corbyn is a nice man, but his ideas are not doable. Anyone who thinks they are is deluded.

Still, right wing people are so much better than everyone else. Grin

kirinm · 01/06/2017 11:57

Do people deliberately spell Corbyn's name wrong? Is it meant to demonstrate a lack of interest in him?

I don't think the Tories will lose. There are so many silent Tories that the polls aren't accurate. It's always odd that a Tory doesn't feel able to admit they are a Tory. If you support their policies, stand up and admit it.

The Polls are also relying on young people turning out. I know a lot have registered but I don't see all those registered actually going to the booths. Sadly.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 01/06/2017 11:59

you support their policies, stand up and admit it.

To have abuse thrown at them? I don't blame them tbh.

Sionella · 01/06/2017 12:01

It really isn't. You only have to read some of the posts on here for a clue! See also indyref - lots of NO voters didn't dare to admit it because the YES lot were so aggressive.

HelenaDove · 01/06/2017 12:02

DHs assessment is this afternoon. Its at home. Assessor is supposed to be arriving between 12 and 2pm.

kirinm · 01/06/2017 12:02

Yeah because left wing people never deal with any abuse. How many times are people called "the liberal elite", "lefttards". "whinging lefties".

Tories need to get a grip.

user1491401693 · 01/06/2017 12:03

I'll admit to being a lifelong Tory but I really am not happy with the way their policies are impacting on the needy in our society.

I wish there was a new middle ground party as I honestly don't know who I will vote for.

HelenaDove · 01/06/2017 12:03

"swinging the lead" in what way Raven?
