I actually thought they would win, and there was nothing anyone could do. Now I think they will lose.

Thanks @sittin and @garden

Yes I do think what was said (by @synestergates on page 8) was pretty evil. Wicked thing to say. Wishing disability in me. Hopefully others will report the post and not just me. As I said, how do they know I am not disabled?

@sittinonthefloor

It is not disablist to point out that some people have pretended to be disabled to claim benefits they are not entitled too - and thus reduced the 'pot' for the genuine claimants. Stress, back pain, anxiety etc are not difficult to fake. It's not wrong to be cross about this - I'd have thought the people in real need would be angriest of all! We need a rational discussion of how to allocate the funding - not just a load of shouting! What system can we have that perfectly balances providing for the vulnerable ensuring no one slips through the net with encouraging those who can work / seek work to do so?

THIS ^ I am not attacking disabled, just merely pointing out that the people who have been claiming when there is little wrong with them, (or who DID have something wrong but are now better and are still claiming, like those with a bad back that has healed!) THEY are the ones who are (probably) responsible for all the WCA's and grilling tests that GENUINELY disabled people have to endure.

FFS, it's not THAT difficult to see I wasn't being fucking 'disablist!'

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 01/06/2017 00:41

Raven I reported her despicable post too

JustAnotherPoster00 · 01/06/2017 00:41

FFS, it's not THAT difficult to see I wasn't being fucking 'disablist!'

Seems harder for you to accept that you were being though but you do you I guess Hmm

Sittinonthefloor · 01/06/2017 00:41

I said 'have pretended' meaning in the past, before the new rules.

Has anyone said 'many' people did this?

Ravenblack · 01/06/2017 00:43

Oh FFS @justanotherposter No I wasn't being disablist but you keep telling yourself I was if that makes you feel better!

Thanks Livia. Smile

Killdora · 01/06/2017 00:44

Yes. Raven did,

'FGS I said that some people deserve to be on disability, but that many have been swinging the lead for many years'

Cakeahoy · 01/06/2017 00:46

So it's acceptable to you now that genuine people, with severe learning disabilities, cancer, ms etc. can't get disability benefits?

Because it's stops that minuscule percent from getting a few bob a month?

Yeah, seems totally worth it.

Vango · 01/06/2017 00:46

I think, with all due respect, that posters ought to be able to justify their chosen party's agenda if they enter into a public debate on a thread such as this. Likewise engaging with the argument about the offensiveness or otherwise of party policies.

Dawndonnaagain · 01/06/2017 00:47

So, what about the fact that 50,000 people have lost their mobility cars are they all 'swinging the lead?

JimmyGrimble · 01/06/2017 00:48

Oh FFS @justanotherposter No I wasn't being disablist but you keep telling yourself I was if that makes you feel better!
No it's not your fault. You were just repeating what you've read in the Tory press and seen on the tellybox. Whilst other people tried to give you the actual government figures. But you're so brainwashed by your Tory press and tellybox that you didn't believe them. It must be soooo hard being you.

Thanks Garden! Would a new tax on homeowners not be preferable to education cuts though?

Spectre8 · 01/06/2017 00:50

Raven don't rise to the bait. I have on here consistently given examples of where I have seen money wasted in public sector especially in my organisation. People don't care about money being wasted, they are happy to throw more money at it rather than look to make sure things are done efficiently first so the money that is being given is value add. I mean noone would personally waste their own money in this way.

ShoesHaveSouls · 01/06/2017 00:50

Raven: As I said, how do they know I am not disabled?

Are you?

I'm not, nor do I have anyone in my family that is, but I still manage to view the subject with a modicum of compassion - and not to make spurious and unsupported claims as to fake claimants...whilst ignoring the figures that are posted up in response.

You are conscience-salving IMO. Easier not to think about the devastating effect that austerity is having on people with illness and/or disabilities.

Vango · 01/06/2017 00:51

Apologies. Phone froze while I was trying to post. Then I saw yours!

Dawndonnaagain · 01/06/2017 00:52

maybe it's this woman

this man has a bad back

Killdora · 01/06/2017 00:53

Hilarious given the context on the latest posts about how much money is being completely wasted with the disability benefit reforms.

I rather think Spectre that Raven laid the bait...

Dawndonnaagain · 01/06/2017 00:55

Don't let the door hit your arse on the way out and ensure you lock it.

Ravenblack · 01/06/2017 00:55

Thanks @spectre. Nah I'm not rising to it. It's been quite amusing and entertaining actually to see people frothing. Grin The wish I would be disabled was harsh though, and as I said, maybe I am...they don't know.

I am bored now - so I am off.

Interesting though, the government fudging their own figures, who'd a thunk it!

Ravenblack · 01/06/2017 00:56

And to the person who asked me if I AM disabled. Mind your own business.

Dawndonnaagain · 01/06/2017 00:57

thought you were going...
