roussette

I am not sure that poster was a troll

southall just didnt believe her story

squishysquirmy · 15/12/2016 22:43

"And Trump will be politically incorrect about vaccinations"

Yet again you are confusing politically incorrect with just plain old incorrect.

claig · 15/12/2016 22:44

'So it's all a popularity contest then claig'

What do you mean? I don't understand your point about "popularity contest"

OP posts:
claig · 15/12/2016 22:45

'Yet again you are confusing politically incorrect with just plain old incorrect.'

No because politically incorrect is holding a position you are "not allowed" to hold, which is Trump's position, whether it is correct or incorrect.

I love how one minute it's all "free speech" "stop censoring people" (no examples, mind)
and the next it's "if you don't agree with us you hate the West!"

I actually love GB and have always liked America too, I have known some wonderful Americans. Which is why I have higher expectations of those countries than "better than ISIS" which seem to be South and Missswatch's standards.

Lweji · 15/12/2016 22:47

Absolutely not, but he won't agree with you and your research

What does that mean for vaccines?

squishysquirmy · 15/12/2016 22:48

"No because politically incorrect is holding a position you are "not allowed" to hold..."
Whereas holding the position that the MMR jab causes autism, or that asbestos is a safe and wonderful building material is scientifically incorrect.
You can say those things - no-one's stopping you, but you look like an idiot when you do.

Richard Branson: Trump vowed to destroy 5 people who refused to help him

I dont know if the above is true, but Branson has a great PR profile and looks to be a man of the people and from the people. Having worked for management consultants who knew Branson, let me just tell you that he is one hard-nosed, ruthless businessman. Not saying that's bad, just saying that that's rich coming from him.

Kaija · 15/12/2016 22:48

"I've seen a few made-up posts like that, all from anti-Brexit people who want to circulate the notion that they are put upon because they are not British born. Well, that one didnt do very well with her story"

Not very convinced by your reasoning as to why that poster's story was not real, but if you don't like that one I can give you plenty more from real life EU friends and colleagues since June. I have no reason to doubt them unfortunately.

claig · 15/12/2016 22:51

'What does that mean for vaccines?'

It means he doesn't agree with your position.

He is not politically correct, he always says what he believes, he won't change his opinion for political expediency.

"CNN tried to destroy Donald Trump with vaccine autism question, but he gave this amazing response
...
Saying that he is in favor of vaccines in principle, he also explained, “But I want smaller doses over a longer period of time.”

Like a number of informed pediatricians and parents, Trump is very skeptical of the false promises made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as the vaccine industry that it promotes.

He even went on to tell a story about vaccines and autism:

Autism has become an epidemic… Because you take a baby in, and I’ve seen it, and I’ve seen it, and I had my children taken care of, over a long period of time, over a two or three year period of time, same exact amount, but you take this little beautiful baby, and you pump – I mean, it looks just like it’s meant for a horse, not for a child, and we’ve had so many instances, people that work for me, just the other day, two-years-old, two-and-a-half-years-old, a child, a beautiful child went to have the vaccine, and came back, and a week later got a tremendous fever, got very, very sick, now is autistic. …I’m in favor of vaccines [but] do them over a longer period of time, same amount, but just in little sections. I think you’re going to have – I think you’re going to see a big impact on autism.

Following Trump’s answer CNN turned to one of two actual physicians in the crowded Republican field – genius neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson – in an obvious attempt at convincing him to attack Trump for his stance. But while professing his overall faith in vaccines, Carson did say this: “We are probably giving way too many in too short a period of time…”

www.vaccines.news/2016-05-25-cnn-tried-to-destroy-donald-trump-with-vaccine-autism-question-but-he-gave-this-amazing-response-2.html

But I only know what I have seen of Trump. There may be lots more that he believes that will all come out when he takes over. We don't yet know what he will do and what he fully believes.

Which is why I have higher expectations of those countries than "better than ISIS" which seem to be South and Missswatch's standards

What? What does this mean?

Kaija · 15/12/2016 22:51

Southall, surely you can see the difference between being a hard-nosed business man and being one that threatens to destroy people??

squishysquirmy · 15/12/2016 22:52

Evidence is pointless Kaija, when the only test for the truthfulness of the evidence is whether it confirms their pre-existing beliefs.

claig · 15/12/2016 22:52

Just like Trump took Bush on in the debates over Iraq and just like he brought up 911 in the debates, Trump has no fear whatsoever and that is what frightens the elites so much. They don't know what he will do.

OP posts:
Roussette · 15/12/2016 22:53

Who is popular with the Donald and who isn't. Who's in, who's out, choosing who he can bully, that kinda thing.

Kaija · 15/12/2016 22:53

"He is not politically correct,"

He is not factually correct.

SouthallGirl · 15/12/2016 22:54

Not very convinced by your reasoning as to why that poster's story was not real

Who cares. I have good intuition, esp. when a story does not make sense.

Lweji · 15/12/2016 22:54

Interesting. So, Trump is prepared to invest federal money on smaller doses of vaccines, and given more often?

squishysquirmy · 15/12/2016 22:55

“But I want smaller doses over a longer period of time.”
Well fine if he's going to make sure that this is well funded and accessible for all children. Which is much more difficult to do than the current system and can result in children being inadequately protected.

Kaija · 15/12/2016 22:56

So what do you conclude from your intuition that this poster's story looked made up, southall?

squishysquirmy · 15/12/2016 22:58

"Most of the anti-vax crowd have no scientific training or expertise, which might explain (but doesn't excuse) their complete ignorance of the science. Over the past 15 years, dozens of studies involving hundreds of thousands of people have shown convincingly that neither vaccines nor any of the ingredients in them are linked to autism. Vaccines are not only safe, but they are perhaps the greatest public health success in the history of civilization."

"Well fine if he's going to make sure that this is well funded and accessible for all children. Which is much more difficult to do than the current system and can result in children being inadequately protected"

Quite. And with what money after all the tax cuts for the elites in the top 1% that he has promised?

claig · 15/12/2016 22:59

'I dont know if the above is true, but Branson has a great PR profile and looks to be a man of the people and from the people'

No, Branson was against Trump and is with Blair. Branson is a liberal. There are reports that he is funding the new Tony Blair Institute or Destitute or whatever he calls it, which is part of Blair's return to fight against Brexit or whatever Blair is doing.

Branson's article was possibly part of the whole anti Trump reporting etc before the election, but I believe it was probably true because Trump is hard ass when he wants to be and Branson will have nothing on Trump, as none of the elites will either. This is a whole new ball game, the elites' worst nightmare.

SouthallGirl · 15/12/2016 23:00

politically incorrect is holding a position you are "not allowed" to hold, which is Trump's position, whether it is correct or incorrect

This is exactly it. Intolerance of another view, and that is why political correctness came about - to promote one particular ideology without serious challenge. If the prevailing view was challenged it was not taken simply as someone who disagrees with you, but you were seen as the Other, not to be in the company of, a person so wrong that they could be dangerous. That is what PC is all about.
