Pilger says "Saudi Arabia which is almost the enemy of humanity in its policies ... trying to destroy poor, impoversied Yemen ... these are the friends of the Democratic candidate for President, is it any wonder that she was beaten?"

He is wrong there. It is a wonder that she was beaten, it is a miracle that she was beaten by Trump, the outsider, derided and disparaged by the world leaders and the BBC and the finest Oxbridge graduates at the Guardian. Never before have the people shaken off the entre world power structure which is why Michael Moore rightly said that Donald Trump's election would be the "biggest Fuck You ever in world history".

It was a miracle and the elites are panicked and are still tryning to stop Trump even now. We don't yet know if they will succeed. We have to wait until Jan 20 to see what happens in the world's most important democracy. Will the people win or will it be the elites?

But whatever happens, 2016 was the year of miracles - Brexit and thenTrump.

"We will all be saying Merry Christmas again" as Trump said.

Yep. Hundreds of posts on one of the most popular websites and I totally lied about them

Missswatch · 15/12/2016 14:54

Next you will be saying Reddit doesn't exist or isn't a real site

Lweji · 15/12/2016 14:57

It will be easy for you to find them, then. :)

Missswatch · 15/12/2016 14:58

Easy for you too :)

Wait. Reddit doesn't exist

Here you go

www.reddit.com/r/socialskills/comments/2gnzfi/a_coworker_asked_me_to_go_out_for_coffee_did_he/

Be careful. I know you like to think these posts aren't real

squishysquirmy · 15/12/2016 15:06

But I think our standards should be so much higher than "better than what happens in the middle East".

Lweji · 15/12/2016 15:07

Ok, congratulations for finding a reddit post about a co-worker asking another for coffee.

Now, where is the sexism accusation?

I only see people debating whether it's a date or not.

Missswatch · 15/12/2016 15:11

You havn't been around reddit much have you Lweji? If such a post is linked elsewhere or put in archive.is for other places to read it'll be mentioned how sexist it is elsewhere

Squishy. Western middle class women have never had life so good. Minor 'sexist' incidents are nothing compared to what women in the middle east go through

claig · 15/12/2016 15:12

'But I think our standards should be so much higher than "better than what happens in the middle East".'

Why do you think what is happening in the Middle East is happening? Do you remember Bliar and Iraq, Cameron, Sarkozy and Libya and now the 5 or 6 year destruction of Syria. Did you hear about the Wikileaks leaks over Hillary saying that Saudi Arabia and Qatar were funding Isis, and Saudi and Qatar were at the same time donating to the Clinton Foundation?

OP posts:
squishysquirmy · 15/12/2016 15:12

There aren't any allegations of sexism in that post- it's a woman asking for advice on a social situation. Confused
She says she's suffered from social anxiety in the past and wants to get to know the guy but not mislead him. None of the replies I saw suggest he is sexist - they just give their interpretation that it is a date.

Lweji · 15/12/2016 15:13

Political correctness gone mad, again.

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/germany-defence-minister-muslim-dress-refusal-saudi-arabia-visit-angela-merkel-a7473346.html

Angela Merkel's defence minister refuses to wear Muslim dress in Saudi Arabia
Michelle Obama, Angela Merkel, Hillary Clinton, Condoleeza Rice and Laura Bush have all done the same

Those liberals not adapting to local customs.

claig · 15/12/2016 15:15

'From what I can see Trump wants to bring jobs back into the US at Mexican wages and Bangladeshi working conditions'

I don't think so DixieWishBone. The 1100 Carrier jobs that Trum saved are not at Mexican wages. After 4 years, Trump will likely save and create tens of thousands of jobs, far more than Hillary would have done with her"Gold Standard" TPP belief.

Claig, in context of sexism and misogeny in the UK and the US, I do think that "not as bad as the middle east" is a shit benchmark, yes.
It is possible to care about relatively minor issues on our doorstep as well as more serious problems elsewhere.

Lweji · 15/12/2016 15:17

If such a post is linked elsewhere or put in archive.is for other places to read it'll be mentioned how sexist it is elsewhere

Dear god. Are you for real?

Where has it been referenced as an example of sexism?

Missswatch · 15/12/2016 15:17

Unfortunately squishy I don't have time to go through loads of subbreddits all day. It was posted on twox. A feminist subreddit. That tells me all i need to know

Lweji · 15/12/2016 15:17

It is possible to care about relatively minor issues on our doorstep as well as more serious problems elsewhere.

Yes, see my post below, claig.

claig · 15/12/2016 15:18

'Claig, in context of sexism and misogeny in the UK and the US, I do think that "not as bad as the middle east" is a shit benchmark, yes.'

Sorry, I didn't realise you were talking about sexism, I thought you were on about the John Pilger interview of the death and destruction that is going on there.

OP posts:
Lweji · 15/12/2016 15:19

Misss

It says it was on "socialskills".

You can't just post random accusations without any basis. You're not Trump.

Missswatch · 15/12/2016 15:19

It is possible to care about relatively minor issues on our doorstep as well as more serious problems elsewhere.

But western feminists don't care. If they went to the middle east and started shouting patriarchy and sexism what do you think would happen? We know the answer and it's too graphic to write here
