We'll see if the people beat the elites, or become trapped with even worse elites...

claig · 12/12/2016 15:16

Will the elites have to bring in Big Brother to end the populist revolution?
Can Blair save them?

Will everything not written in the Gurdian by the best and brightest from Oxbridge or not said on BBC Newsnight by the best and brightest PPEs from Oxford have to be called "fake news" in order to put the people back in their box? Or will Trump change the world and spread the people's revolution to the EU?

OP posts:
Lweji · 12/12/2016 15:19

You do know there are more media than the BBC and The Guardian?
Particularly in the US...

claig · 12/12/2016 15:21

'We'll see if the people beat the elites, or become trapped with even worse elites...'

Quite. Is this Orwell's Animal Farm. Have the people defeated the elite and their retinues of servants only to end up with a similar elite or is this the real emancipation of the people from the plans of teh elites with globalisation and supranational structures that removed democracy from the people?

Only time will tell. But at the moment Trump is still battling all their teams for the people.

OP posts:
claig · 12/12/2016 15:24

'You do know there are more media than the BBC and The Guardian?'

Of course, but I am highlighting the effect on us of teh Trump Revolution, which was only the logical extension of the People's Revolution started in Britain with Brexit and before that by Mr Brexit himself, Farage rather than Trump.

Trump's victory is a victory for people worldwide, just as Brexit was too and was a defeat for elites worldwide - the OECD, the IMF etc etc

OP posts:
Lweji · 12/12/2016 15:26

Trump is hardly conducting any battles.
He's appointing elite and establishment and swamp creatures.
And he's tweeting a lot. And answering calls.

He's certainly not working for the majority of voters, but if anything for less than 50% of voters.

Lweji · 12/12/2016 15:26

Trump's victory is a victory for people worldwide

Grin No, it isn't. Not really.

claig · 12/12/2016 15:30

Trump's victory was defeat for elites worldwide. All their puppets were told to call Trump "unfit", and Trump beat them. That is why it is a vcitory for the people.

Whether Trump morphs into Napoleon out of Orwell's Animal Farm or whether the elites teams of teh best and brightest manage to control and hoodwink Trump, we have still to wait and see.

But hope springs eternal, Trump won and he is still mocking them all, calling the mainstream media "a room full of liars" and making the people laugh as he gives the puppets hell

Lweji · 12/12/2016 15:30

Also, I'm not sure I'd keep referring to Farage's people's army
www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-supreme-court-hearing-article-50-nigel-farage-march-peoples-army-a7456406.html

"Ortelius @Ortelius67
Request from Nigel Farage: could another 99,998 Brexiters please show up outside the Supreme Court pronto. This is a tad embarrassing."

But hope springs eternal

Not so eternal. You will get a shock eventually, when you land back to Earth.

Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump 15h

Just watched @NBCNightlyNews - So biased, inaccurate and bad, point after point. Just can't get much worse, although @CNN is right up there!

That is the next President of the United States. It is incredible, it is historic, it is amazing. Can you imagine a PPE like Cameron ever daring to say anything like that about a Murdoch paper or the BBC? Only Trump can do it because he is scared of none of the elites because none of them pull his strings.

So biased, inaccurate and bad, point after point.

Oh, for a second there, I thought he was talking about himself.

Missswatch · 12/12/2016 17:17

Tweet from Trump: Can you imagine if the election results were the opposite and WE tried to play the Russia/CIA card. It would be called conspiracy theory!

He's right ya know

Lweji · 12/12/2016 17:20

Trump played the rigged and conspiracy card even before the election .
He has played the illegal immigrant vote card even though he's won the electoral college majority.

Your point was...?

Missswatch · 12/12/2016 17:22

Highlighting double standards. I guess it's ok if Hillary supporters do it

squishysquirmy · 12/12/2016 17:23

Well he did try to play the "it's all rigged" card, repeatedly, even after he won.
That's why I don't get what was so objectionable about a recount - surely if you are confident you won fairly (or in Trump's case, think you were due an even larger share of the vote) you would want everything as transparent as possible?

squishysquirmy · 12/12/2016 17:24

But you think it's OK if Trump supporters did it?
In fact before he won he was encouraging people to riot if he lost.

DeepanKrispanEven · 12/12/2016 17:25

Claig, could you answer my question upthread? Repeated below for convenience:

if temperatures are rising due to natural causes surely it would still be prudent to invest in defences?

No because you have to understand the elite's agenda in order to understand their objectives and if you understand that you understand the disadvantages for humanity.

What do you mean by "No", claig? No, it isn't prudent to invest in defences, or No, temperatures aren't rising, or No, they aren't rising due to natural causes?

Kaija · 12/12/2016 17:31

"Tweet from Trump: Can you imagine if the election results were the opposite and WE tried to play the Russia/CIA card. It would be called conspiracy theory!

He's right ya know"

And black is white again.

Can you imagine if there was evidence that Hillary had won with the help of Russian interference, and instead of saying "this is very serious, we need to investigate" she trashed the CIA instead, and then nominated a close contact of Putin's as Secretary of State?

Missswatch · 12/12/2016 17:31

As for these Russian hackers. Looks like that hacker 4chan is at it again lol

BertrandRussell · 12/12/2016 17:32

It's like when Farage said before the referendum that a 48:52 vote would be unfinished business, but that the people had spoken after the referendum..........

claig · 12/12/2016 17:32

DeepanKrispanEven, I misread that question, I thought it was about the climate change carbon tax etc, but rereading it I see it is about defences, such as flood defences or the dredging that Cameron should have done in which case Su Burrows would not have had to tell Cameron on Sky News "Cameron get down here now, get your waders on, forget dredging the river, we'll get you on that later"

So I am all for flood defences etc and that should be done and money should be allocated for that

OP posts:
DeepanKrispanEven · 12/12/2016 17:34

Claig, another question left hanging upthread. You told us that the elites include the CEOs of Fortune500 companies. We should therefore take it that the CEO of the second company on that list is elitist -
fortune.com/2016/06/08/exxon-mobil-fortune-500/

I assume you agree?

Kaija · 12/12/2016 17:35

"Trump's victory is a victory for people worldwide, just as Brexit was too and was a defeat for elites worldwide"

No. Far more people voted for Hillary Clinton than for Trump. He is very very unpopular with the people, and with good reason.

Trump's victory is a victory for elite billionaires, and as it turns out, for the Kremlin.

Lweji · 12/12/2016 17:37

Highlighting double standards. I guess it's ok if Hillary supporters do it

Rigged (before election) - no evidence
Illegal immigrants voting - no evidence
Russian hackers - evidence from CIA and independent security firms

I'd definitely say there are double standards afoot.
