Into the final lap now after over 1 year of entertainment, education and excitement. Donald J Trump is nearly there against all expectations.

Spinflight · 09/11/2016 00:20

Yeah Georgia should be safe... Think Clinton took it back in the 90s but usually solidly Republican.

AlchemySchmidtsSmile · 09/11/2016 00:22

New Hampshire. I googled my own lack of geography Wink

So glad there are others still up watching, I politics fascinating and the science that goes in to polling and results.

DH and I have placed many bets, even specific ones right down to state-by-state so we're in for the long-haul tonight.

We accurately predicted Brexit and made a lot of money off it (and before anyone asks - I'm an EU immigrant so wasn't allowed to vote) so we hope to make some more money tonight too Grin Adds a bit of fun to the evening

Florida - 16% counted; 51.5% Trump (Zerohedge tweet)

fourmummy · 09/11/2016 00:26

Looks fake, again, I think

fourmummy · 09/11/2016 00:38

Actually, Zerohedge twitter is updating quite regularly
New York Times election results/president is worth watching

Breadandwine · 09/11/2016 00:38

Here's the latest from votecastr - these are all estimated votes, of course - at 1822EST:

Hillary is ahead by:
163,000 in Wisconsin
15,000 in Iowa
6,000 in Nevada
21,000 in NH
21,000 in Ohio
139,000 in Pa
303,000 in Florida

Turnout hitting record highs all over - up to 80% - which favours the Democrats.

Republican vote is down by 5% in Georgia - lowest vote for them for over 20 years.

Florida 56% counted. Trump 2.5 points ahead. Exciting stuff!

fourmummy · 09/11/2016 00:56

Nope. Clinton has overtaken Trump in Florida.

Chris1234567890 · 09/11/2016 01:17

we really are holding our breaths here arent we.........

Spinflight · 09/11/2016 01:18

Dozed off Sad Couldn't handle the pace. Back now. Coffee on the go. All about even?

Trump now ahead by 28 votes!

Spinflight · 09/11/2016 01:29

Conventional wisdom is that the early votes favour the Democrats and votes on the night the Republicans. Saying that there is a wonk saying that Clinton is up 2% in FL...

fourmummy · 09/11/2016 01:33

What's everyone watching? I've just got zerohedge twitter up now.

claig · 09/11/2016 01:34

These votes contain all the early votes. Republicans usually turn out higher on the night.

fourmummy · 09/11/2016 01:37

FL 91% counted, Trump 0.9+. I'm watching through my fingers.

Spinflight · 09/11/2016 01:45

Not sure how many early votes there were in Ohio but looks as though Trump is running close..

I think Florida is his...

AgainPlease · 09/11/2016 01:47

Are you sure about Florida going to Trump?! I stand to make about £2,600 on that bet!
