new thread. :)

OP posts:
Lweji · 25/10/2016 19:31

Oh, that was a joke, then?

claig · 25/10/2016 19:34

As the great Shakespeare once wrote

"many a true word has been spoken in jest"

WinchesterWoman · 25/10/2016 19:42

What diversion? What are you on about now?
You asked questions, I answered. You made points, I responded or pointed out where I'd already responded. What diversion?

eternalopt · 25/10/2016 19:42

Out of interest claig and WW, are either of you entitled to vote in US elections/based in US?

No angle. Just curious. Feel free to tell me to mind my own.

Apologies if you've already said somewhere and I've missed it.

QuintessentialShadow · 25/10/2016 19:47

The fact that Trump is so popular, does it not just show how unpopular Clinton is with the general public?

Even if she wins, just like Brexit, she will not have a big majority?

It isnt really ok if a candidate like Trump has gotten so far, if it is because the other candidates are such poor choices/so controversial/so disliked.

Roosevelt had a third term, why not Obama.....

claig · 25/10/2016 19:49

eternalopt, no I am English, not American. I am interested in the outcome because of the effect that it will have on the entire world and what it will mean for us in England. This is the biggest potential change in the world for decades.

claig · 25/10/2016 19:50

'Roosevelt had a third term, why not Obama.....'

They are only allowed two terms now. I didn't know that Roosevelt had three, maybe they changed the rules later.

WinchesterWoman · 25/10/2016 19:52

Hi QS yes, but I think it's more than that too. He's tapped into something.

claig · 25/10/2016 19:53

'The fact that Trump is so popular, does it not just show how unpopular Clinton is with the general public?'

Not really, because Trump thrashed all of the other 16 Establishment Republicans like Jeb Bush who was thought to be a shoo-in. What it really shows is how unpopular the Establishment is with the people for a non-politician liek Trump to beat all the lifelong political puppets.

eternalopt · 25/10/2016 19:58

This is the biggest potential change in the world for decades.

No dispute there Wink

They are only allowed two terms now. I didn't know that Roosevelt had three, maybe they changed the rules later.

Unwritten rule prior to FDR. Amendment to constitution after him to specify.

claig · 25/10/2016 20:00

This is about Tim Kaine, Hillary's VP candidate. It shows how little support the political class really has compared to Trump who got 12000 to turn out to his rally in Florida the other day, despite the fact that the Establishment mainstream media is spinning that Trump is finished.

"WOW! Tim Kaine Holds Rally and ONLY 30 PEOPLE Show Up!

Jim Hoft Oct 24th, 2016 10:59 pm —1621 Comments

THIS IS JUST EFFING INCREDIBLE!
Hillary’s VP pick Tim Kaine Held a Rally today AND NOBODY CAME!

There were literally like 30 people there — in West Palm Beach, Florida."

www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016/10/wow-tim-kaine-holds-rally-30-people-show/

That is a lower turnout than the 172's Owen Smith. The Establishment are in trouble worldwide.

claig · 25/10/2016 20:02

eternalopt, have you got a vote? Will you be able to participate in deciding all our fates?

eternalopt · 25/10/2016 20:04

Unfortunately not. Like you, I am powerless to change things.

claig · 25/10/2016 20:07

'Like you, I am powerless to change things.'

The whole world watches. Elites and puppets across the world are petrfified and people across the world hope that the American people put Trump over the line.

eternalopt · 25/10/2016 20:12

So I'm an elite or a puppet then? And there's me thinking we were being more polite!! Hmm

claig · 25/10/2016 20:17

This is Michael Moore speaking, as quoted in the article linked by fourmummy.

"Trump's election will be the biggest "F—ck You" in human history - Michael Moore"

We the people are going to defeat all the puppets, al the servants, all their think tanks, all their phoney charidees, all their preaching and all their spin and lies

claig · 25/10/2016 20:19

'So I'm an elite or a puppet then? And there's me thinking we were being more polite!! '

I never said you were. I am referring to the elite and the world leaders and the puppet politcal class who serve them worldwide, not you.

WinchesterWoman · 25/10/2016 20:21

So I'm an elite or a puppet then?

Being as how you think we are 'fucking insane' it's extraordinary that you want our opinion.

Roussette · 25/10/2016 20:22

claig now you're sounding deluded. Talk about sweeping statements. Where on earth do you get that people across the world hope that Trump gets in? Nothing could be further from the truth ... You're one of the fanatical and blinkered I think.

eternalopt · 25/10/2016 20:24

Evening WW. Grin

WinchesterWoman · 25/10/2016 20:25

'deluded' bingo

Lweji · 25/10/2016 20:25

WW Statistics and polling aren't neutral

Me That only seems to be true when Trump is losing. When he was up in the Republican polls and whenever he's been ahead of Clinton, everybody has been happy to accept those polls.

WW Statistics and polling aren't neutral. Have you learned nothing from the last two years.

WW What diversion? What are you on about now? You asked questions, I answered. You made points, I responded or pointed out where I'd already responded. What diversion?

That diversion.

Oh, RCP gives Clinton as having a likely electoral college majority of 272, thanks to Minnesota.
On the national polls, even the LA Times poll that tends to show Trump ahead is giving Clinton slightly ahead now.

Still waiting for Trump's own polls that show that all media led polls are wrong.

We'll see.

eternalopt · 25/10/2016 20:35

The Michael Moore stuff is spot on. I said in one of my earlier posts that you can see how the frenzy has built given the state of some of the States. However, it also eloquently describes one of the scariest things about it all. Trump makes some empty promises and people jump on them. It's what they want to hear. And they want to deliver their "fuck you" vote to those they feel let them down. However, it's not based on solid ground. He doesn't have the detailed policies to back it up the promises (which Is partly to be expected I guess from someone who has never held office) and the big issue is what happens next when someone so volatile, so full of hate and prejudice and so politically inexperienced holds the most powerful position in the world. Will the "fuck you" still be so gleeful?

WinchesterWoman · 25/10/2016 20:35

That's no diversion. It's nothing compared to you popping up and saying 'oh you didn't respond to this' and other random thoughts.

I did respond - If you want more: they aren't always trusted. The poll that's predicted Obama x 2 and Bush now says he'll win. To quote the Independent: 'Although the new data appears to suggest Ms Clinton has assumed victory prematurely, polling experts have said it is extremely unlikely the IBD/TIPP poll will prove to be correct. It is more likely polls showing Trump leading are outliers, either by statistical chance or by an error in their design.'

WinchesterWoman · 25/10/2016 20:37

You can read the link I posted earlier about his policies if you like Eternalopt. Or not.
