new thread. :)

OP posts:
claig · 29/10/2016 09:31

Doug Schoen, a clever former advisor to Bill Clinton, says she will still get elected, but Judge Jeanine disagrees.

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 09:35

Thanks four mummy. I agree. I've said always that Clinton will be worse for women and minorities than trump. Way worse.

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 09:37

Thought: with focus on abedin due to weiner's phone - does that mean her family's Islamist links will come under the spotlight? Also connected to four mummy's post. Will Clinton team be seen more wdidely as Islamist sympathisers/protectors?

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 09:38

Don't forget that investors poll

claig · 29/10/2016 09:38

'does that mean her family's Islamist links will come under the spotlight? '

I would think so.

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 09:39

About time. That has flown under the radar way too long.

claig · 29/10/2016 09:41

Yes. The whole Libya/Syria/Saudi/Qatari/Musli Brotherhood thing has flown under the radar.

claig · 29/10/2016 09:49

Just watching O'Reilly on catchup. He says that he spoke to a senior FBI guy the other day and he said that there is almost a mutiny in the FBI about what has been going on and that some of them were possibly going to release it if Comey didn't.

claig · 29/10/2016 09:54

Clinton wants it all released, but of course it can't be because it has to be investigated first and there is not enough time, so it helps Trump in that he can continue to call her corrupt etc and it is doubtful that stuff can be released in the next 10 days. However, a lot of this stuff is already factored in.

claig · 29/10/2016 10:00

Trump wrote a 10 million cheque yesterday for the campaign, but he was questioned about his claim that he would be putting $100 million in by the end. Apparently, he will have to spend $4 million a day to meet that. So it seems that he has actually spent about $60 million, and is probably unlikely to get to $100 million.

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 10:00

And CAIR

fourmummy · 29/10/2016 11:05

The whole Libya/Syria/Saudi/Qatari/Musli Brotherhood thing has flown under the radar.

Shockingly so. She's had a free ride on that one. Very, very angry.

WW friend just back from NY. Very interesting. Tiny sample size, obv (before anyone else points this out), but spoke to only one (white) woman voting Hillary. The rest (Mexican lifelong democrats - whole family, Guatemalan woman and her family, HK Chinese whole family, two/three others, all minorities) all voting Trump. However, the level of bullying is, apparently, insane, so have to be very careful about revealing it.

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 11:09

That's very very interesting four. Black trump campaigners believe he'll get more black votes than any republican candidate ever.

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 11:14

Human in hiding, I read on drudge.

Clinton has been thrown to the wolves. So what's the end game?

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 11:15

Huma!

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 29/10/2016 15:56

Interesting interview with a Republican representative on the radio this morning? It was put to him that, despite the fuss, most voters would still view this is a contest between a racist, narcissist misogynist dishonest thug on the one hand, and on the other hand someone who's been secretive with her emails and might have been dishonest but we don't know - not the greatest choice, but still not a difficult decision. The Republican agreed that that was indeed the choice. Somehow I doubt that was what Trump wanted him to say.

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 16:40

Can't believe sky is live broadcasting a likely rapist

Lweji · 29/10/2016 16:55

Hillary had the best possible response and she is right.

The FBI should either release everything for people to judge for themselves or not have done it (too late, for this, though).
As it is, it looks like a Republican conspiracy or dirty trick to cast more doubt on Hillary without any real basis. The FBI head can't even say if the emails are significant or not!

Anyway, whereas I don't think she's been brilliant in terms of handling muslim countries' policies, I don't think the US has ever been. No administration has.
Backing the wrong people has been a common theme for decades, as is backing the wrong governments according to convenience and strategy at the time, mostly due to oil concerns.

As it is, even Trump won't go all guns blazing on Saudi Arabia, for example, or any dodgy government, or consequences will be far reaching in terms of instability and the economy.

There should still be major (and I do reinforce major) concerns about Trump's financial interests outside the US. They won't be less problematic than any of Hillary's interests, particularly if you look at his foreign portfolio (see one of my earlier posts, I think on this thread). Possibly more.

Trump has been subject to lawsuits regarding his business practices. He corrupts politicians and he has acted like a con man in the past. (he still is, IMO).

So, yes, I'd rather see in the Presidency someone who understands the issues better, who can keep a cool head, and offers a better package for those who need protection.
Less so someone who is more concerned about inciting hate between groups, insulting people, lacks on social concerns, proposes less taxation on the rich, has actual financial investments outside the US, and, yes, preferably, won't be groping or raping his female staff or other women.

It's politics. None of them is a saint, but I do think that as a person and as a political package, Hillary is better for the US than Trump.

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 17:50

Four: is it possible do you think that Tim kaine would have to step in.

Democrats should be asking her to step aside.

fourmummy · 29/10/2016 17:50

Lweji - you've got to be joking, right? I've spent today reading this story. I started the day thinking that it's not that big a deal and there must be more to come, much as I posted last night. By now, I can see that this story alone is a huge deal. Have you seen the photos of the husband's erect penis next to their baby son's head? This is the husband of the woman who will have unprecedented access to the WH and all it entails? Hillary's emails were found alongside these photos of erections and children?! Cool head???

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 17:53

Four: she is a proven liar. Anyone who's seen the why aren't I fifty points ahead video knows she doesn't have s cool head. Or the we came, we saw, he died. Or has read secret service accounts of her behaviour. She is a liar and in office she would be out of control.

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 29/10/2016 18:03

But you don't mind that Trump is a liar?

AppleMagic · 29/10/2016 18:07

Hillary's emails were found alongside these photos of erections and children?! Cool head???

The emails weren't to or from Hillary according to what's being reported in the US.

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 18:09

Abedin played wild and free with national security. Perhaps her devices have been equally revealing.

PikachuSayBoo · 29/10/2016 18:09

I think both are quite awful.

If I was voting I would vote for Clinton though purely because she's the only one who has held elected office before and I think has more experience. Yes Trump may be able to run a business but being President is about so much more than being the boss in a large organisation. I don't think he has the diplomacy or even the intelligence needed. But yes I do have concerns about Clinton as well.

I'm quite excited and am planning on staying up to see the results. My American friend reckons we should know by 2-3am here who's won it, not officially but to have a good idea. Does that time sound about right?
