claig · 16/10/2016 13:57

Oct 20th 2 am UK time.

Last chance for the Establishment to stop the Trump surge in the polls.
World leaders will be watching, Establishments will be tuning in on the edge of their seats in trepidation.

People will be laughing, diving into the popcorn and knocking back the alcohol.

Round 3. Rock'n'roll.

Trump will obey whatever law there is. He will follow the rules.

So he can't put his businesses into his children's hands. What will he do about them?

Lweji · 19/10/2016 19:19

Oh, this will go down well:

"Donald Trump has a “five-point plan to defeat Islam,” according to his campaign manager." Grin

You tend to speak the truth when you're not thinking. Just saying.

"He has plans every week" - and they change every week too.

OK, he now has a "drain the swamp" plan for ethics in Washington. Too little too late, or will he be able to save his campaign with this?

'So he can't put his businesses into his children's hands. What will he do about them?'

I don't know. Is he not allowed to let his children run them? Did Bush's children not run any businesses or Bush's parents and relatives?

Trump says lots of things, he exaggerates and speaks metaphorically.

So, he doesn't really mean it with the five point ethics plan for Washington?

claig · 19/10/2016 19:23

'So, he doesn't really mean it with the five point ethics plan for Washington?'

There may very well be 6 points in it. That is how Trump rolls.

I like to hype things up and exaggerate to make politics exciting, it is a laugh.

But no-one's laughing. Try something else?

I must say, I like the idea of the drinking game where you take a swig every time Trump finishes a sentence during the debate. That way, you ensure you go to bed stone-cold sober.

claig · 19/10/2016 19:27

'But no-one's laughing'

Trump fans are definitely laughing, just as they laughed when Trump said Hillary should have a drug test before the debate. Watch tonight's debate, there will be more laughs from Trump.

"Trump says lots of things, he exaggerates and speaks metaphorically. What he means is"

And here's the nub of it. Trump does indeed exaggerate, and he blusters and rants and rambles incoherently. Which then allows people of wildly varying politics to say, as Claig has here, "what he means is..." and project their own hopes, fantasies, or political agendas onto him. It's how fascism works and how post-truth politics works.

So he can boast about bombing the hell out of ISIS, and his ostensibly less trigger-happy apologists can say "I don't think Trump wants to bomb anyone" with a straight face. Because none of what he says adds up, so nobody can determine what his intentions actually are.

claig · 19/10/2016 19:47

'OK, he now has a "drain the swamp" plan for ethics in Washington'

Yes it is a new hashtag that he has been using today #DrainTheSwamp

Pretty effective. That will definitely appeal to the base.

A racist misogynist who doesn't pay his bills and has boasted of sexual assault is going to "drain the swamp".

Auit · 19/10/2016 20:16

First, Hillary will only have that power from January

Obama is still in power and acting very provocatively for an outgoing president. I've never seen behaviour like this from any president at the end of their tenure and I've seen quite a few come and go.
Of course Obama is a big part of the Clinton scheme.

Why Is Obama Threatening Russia With World War 3 Right Before The Election?

claig · 19/10/2016 20:17

OMG

Make sure you tune in before the debate actually starts. There may be some surprises. World leaders have all set their alarm clocks early and have minions watching live feeds hours before the start in case Trump throws a surprise.

"Steve Bannon Reportedly Says Malik Obama “Just the Appetizer” for Wednesday Night’s Debate. Ugh.

According to CNN’s Brian Stelter, Obama’s Trump-supporting half-brother Malik won’t be the only bizarre guest the Trump camp will be bringing to Wednesday night’s debate. Stelter said this morning that Trump campaign CEO Steve Bannon told him Malik Obama would be “just an appetizer” and that surprise attendees from Hillary and Bill Clinton’s pasts are also set to appear."

I'm laughing claig.

claig · 19/10/2016 20:26

Auit, it is very strange because Obama has done a very good job in avoiding war with Russia over the past few years when some people wanted him to. He has been criticised by some for being weak in not standing by his red line, but he has made sure that no outright war started either in Syria or Ukraine.

So it is strange that now with an election just three weeks away that there should be so much talk of war in Syria.

Claig Are you nippng around the USA, putting up these statues ShockWink
(Warning: anyone eating supper, don't look at this photo)

'I'm laughing claig.' Grin

The people are laughing, the elites are not amused.

No, that is disrespectful Smile

Politican groupies can do unusual things.
I remember when Ted Heath was Tory leader, a woman rushed into the loo while he was there and grabbed the soap he had been using, to take it as a souvenir
(I'm a mine of significant historical information)

WinchesterWoman · 19/10/2016 20:32

I don't see what Malik Obama's got to do with anything. That's just stupid. It's like revealing HC is a lesbian. Who cares, except for the fact she may have cheated. Well, Donald Trump cheated so they're even. Where's the win? It's just silly.

Lweji · 19/10/2016 20:33

On the contraryAuit

Tensions with Russia have been mounting for the past few years. Putin has sent Russian fighters press on Western Europe air space. Russian planes have bombed UN aid convoys. He took over Crimea, is maintaining war in Ukraine, and bombing Syrian rebels instead of ISIS. The Russians seem to have been messing up with the US election.

I'm guessing Putin thinks this is a good time to threaten war, as the American public is voting for their President.

The dovest of American presidents (Jimmy Carter) served only one term.
I do think it's not in Obama's direction that you should look.

Missswatch · 19/10/2016 20:33

Claig? New O'Keefe video on YouTube like i linked you yesterday. Havn't seen it myself yet but enjoy

WinchesterWoman · 19/10/2016 20:37

I'm not watching tonight. If he's seriously going to bring Malik Obama to the debate and reveal that HC is a lesbian then I'm not even going to bother listening to the news tomorrow. What nonsense.

claig · 19/10/2016 20:37

'It's like revealing HC is a lesbian'

Yes, that wouldn't have any effect. Not sure what Malik Obama might say.

'New O'Keefe video on YouTube like i linked you yesterday.'

Thanks, Missswatch, I will check it out.

Apparently the National Enquirer is coming out with stuff about Hillary tomorrow, but I can't see that having any effect.
