Trump vs Clinton Round 3. Probably the biggest debate ever.

claig · 16/10/2016 13:57

Oct 20th 2 am UK time.

Last chance for the Establishment to stop the Trump surge in the polls.
World leaders will be watching, Establishments will be tuning in on the edge of their seats in trepidation.

People will be laughing, diving into the popcorn and knocking back the alcohol.

Round 3. Rock'n'roll.

Trump will obey whatever law there is. He will follow the rules.

If you think that Trump who will make Mexico pay for the Wall and who will rewrite all the trade deals is going to allow actions against US nationals, then you haven't been paying attention.

I don't think he'll build any wall.
I don't think he would get Mexico to pay for any wall.
I don't think he'll be able to rewrite any trade deals to become more beneficial to the US.
And I struggle to think how he can prevent actions against US nationals or the US as a nation.

You have too much faith in your golden feet of clay idol, claig.

Auit · 19/10/2016 16:03

Hope you like this claig

Lweji · 19/10/2016 16:04

Funnily enough, Hillary said she'd have signed the bill, but she is campaigning, so she wouldn't want to be seen to go against 9/11 families.

It turns out you and her agree on something, claig. :)

The other Democrats are also campaigning, which I think explains this overrule of the veto, because the public is for this law.

Lweji · 19/10/2016 16:09

See this about the veto.

I particularly like how the majority leader (!) blames Obama for not having explained his reasons for the veto before they overruled it. Grin

26 senators seem to regret it...

Obama shouldn't have vetoed it, though. As Hillary and Trump (presumably) are in favour, he should simply have left the consequences for them. Why does he even bother?

Lweji · 19/10/2016 16:10

ups

fourmummy · 19/10/2016 16:15

It opens the door for any foreigner to sue the US for past actions. Or for actions done by any groups of US nationals abroad.

Well, they can certainly try. Doesn't mean they'll get anywhere..

Auit, that is an excellent video Grin

'Why does he even bother?'

To protect rich powerful people?

Thanks, WallisofWindsor.

11pm is the start of the buildup. It won't actually begin until 2 am

We are not dumb!

Trump vs Clinton Round 3. Probably the biggest debate ever.
Lweji · 19/10/2016 16:32

Nor will actions against Saudi Arabia have any consequences, in that case.

I also like this one for the debates. It's good on the Trump tells.

You may like this one, claig.

Claig, you sound unhinged. Fair enough to have strong beliefs, but this is more like blind blinkered faith.

Trump has caused no end of trouble when building his much-disliked golf course at Balmedie, near Aberdeen. He promised 6000 jobs. It's created more like 200. He was an absolute shit to some of the locals - see You've Been Trumped.

And what is billionaire Trump if not the 'Establishment'?? At least Hillary has been in politics for 30 years - she knows what she's talking about. Trump has no idea. He thinks that money and bluster will get him through everything.

The US electoral system is insane - you have to have millions in order to run for office, and you can run for president with absolutely no experience of politics? Crazy.

WinchesterWoman · 19/10/2016 18:20

Last resort of totalitarians is to ascribe mental ill health to their opponents, cocktail.

Auit · 19/10/2016 18:23

I see you mentioned Jill Steins views on Hillary up thread claig.

I think the situation is getting very serious, the Russian northern fleet are in the North Sea heading to the Med via the Channel

Link

If Hillary imposes a no fly zone over Syria there will be war.

In this video Jill Stein plainly says Hillary is much more dangerous than Trump

claig · 19/10/2016 18:27

'Claig, you sound unhinged'

I like to hype things up and exaggerate to make politics exciting, it is a laugh. That is why I like the Stump for Trump Sisters. They do the same. We are having a laugh by exaggerating.

Some people call the Stump for Trump Sisters "unhinged", I call them gurus.

'If Hillary imposes a no fly zone over Syria there will be war.'

Yes, according to some media reports the Russians have said that if there are any more attacks on the Syrian Army bases etc like the last one which was said to be a "mistake", then they will retaliate.

We have some of the 172 Labour MPs on TV saying we have to show strength etc.

Crazy stuff, all over Syria which has already lasted for 6 years.

Trump has invited Obama's half brother to tonight's debate. He supports Trump.

If Hillary imposes a no fly zone over Syria there will be war.

First, Hillary will only have that power from January (hopefully).
Secondly, if anyone is behaving dangerously here is Putin (who's sending a fleet to the Med, as well as bombing civilian facilities, including hospitals).

But perhaps Trump will just join Putin in the bombing of civilians. He certainly has the temperament for that.

claig · 19/10/2016 18:43

The BBC only ever interviews the 172, they never invite Corbyn on about Syria because he talks sense.

OP posts:
claig · 19/10/2016 18:45

Just like in other towns in Syria where the Russians and Syrians allowed the civilians and the rebel fighters to leave the towns, they have allowed them the same in Aleppo, but the fighters want to carry on fighting.

OP posts:
WinchesterWoman · 19/10/2016 18:45

I don't think Donald trump wants to bomb anyone.thats part of his appeal. Americans are sick of being asked to intervene and being blamed when they do despite their own losses.

Lweji · 19/10/2016 19:02

Trump has invited Obama's half brother to tonight's debate. He supports Trump.

The one who WASN'T born in the US?

Oh, I see what they have in common.

"Obama made headlines in 2011 when he married his third wife, who was still in her teens."

He may be right on something, though: “I don’t think politics is my thing,” Grin

Lweji · 19/10/2016 19:08

they have allowed them the same in Aleppo now...

I just hope they don't repeat previous cease fire bombings, including of UN aid convoys:
www.foxnews.com/world/2016/09/20/us-military-reacts-to-fragile-syria-cease-fire-airstrike-hitting-assads-forces.html

And Trump said he'd bomb the hell out of ISIS...

"there would be nothing left" (presumably not even the local populations. Nice)
claig · 19/10/2016 19:11

Trump says lots of things, he exaggerates and speaks metaphorically. What he means is he will finish Isis and all the rest of the funded mercenaries within weeks.
