I will go with massive arsehole though

Trump being one obvs

WinchesterWoman · 15/10/2016 22:19

I'm not dismissive actually. I'm not an 'avowed Trump supporter'. When conversation is two way and normal, there's give and take. It's just you force people into the other camp in being so scornful and sneery. I feel like I could have a conversation with Rufus right now just the two of us where there's piles of issues on both sides that I could certainly acknowledge and I bet Rufus could too (maybe not I can't read minds!) but it would be a normal conversation not hostile.

WinchesterWoman · 15/10/2016 22:20

Oh hello there - I posted on page 35 and here you are on page 37

WinchesterWoman · 15/10/2016 22:20

And lol at the x post!

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 15/10/2016 22:27

Hey winchester

I get where you are coming from Smile i like to discuss this stuff and i think sometimes its good to be made to think

WinchesterWoman · 15/10/2016 22:34

wotcha

what are your thoughts on Russia? The way Putin is acting I fear a Clinton hawkish response. Obama's Syria tactics look a bit short-sighted and not conducive to an end to the conflict. I don't want to see that continue. I'd be interested in your views (there's another thread on Putin that people have contributed to a bit also)

Hopefully i'll be back tomorrow but I have to go to sleep ( a LOT of driving today!)

Lweji · 15/10/2016 22:35

I bet he isnt lweji

The key is in the verb.
To be or not to have.

Lweji · 15/10/2016 22:39

More seriously, what do you think is happening in Syria and how are any Obama's tactics maintaining the conflict?

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 15/10/2016 22:40

winchester

Will muster my thoughts, although i think clinton is trying to avoid russia like the plaque and i dont even want to think about trump Grin although having said that he does seem to be a fan of putin. safe trip tomorrow

Lweji · 15/10/2016 22:42

I was joking...sorry

Hence the Hamlet reference.

So DT says it's all rigged and HC is on drugs. There's an air of desperation because he is such a bad loser. There's been losing GOP candidates before... Bob Dole against BC for instance... he lost and kept the respect of the people. That won't be happening with Trump as he has no allegience or loyalty to his party.

Trump seems incapable of persuading new groups of people to change their mind, he is just hellbent on convincing those that are on his side that when he loses it isn't his fault. Anyone but his. Paul Ryan, the media, crooked Hilary, just not him. I can't imagine what he is going to do when he loses, because sure as hell his party aren't going to support him when this is all over, they will just blame him.

I'm surprised you think it is hositle on here WW. I think this and the last thread have not been the slightest bit hostile, maybe it's because there are more posters questioning Trump than supporting him.

nauticant · 16/10/2016 08:34

Why do these populists who make a big thing about projecting STRENGTH turn into such whiners when things go against them? A bully, a coward, and now a cry-baby. Imagine a US president with those traits.

merrymouse · 16/10/2016 08:38

sure as hell his party aren't going to support him when this is all over, they will just blame him

Given that he has supported both parties at various times and waited till he was 70 to stand for political office, I think his links with the republicans have always been a little loose.

Post election there is no need for him to be affiliated to a particular party. However, with nothing in it for him, would he still be interested in politics?

birdsdestiny · 16/10/2016 09:05

He isn't interested in politics now. He is interested in winning.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 16/10/2016 09:36

nauticant

He sounded about 10 in the last debate when he said something similar to "3 against 1"

I do have a horrible feeling he will still win, i have had a year of little disappointments some personal and some related to world news. I woukd quite like not to be disappointed by this result

Still i shall remain hopeful, are they still planning that trip to mars?

Lweji · 16/10/2016 09:42

He does despises losers.

His only winning strategy to start with was to claim that he was different and not for the system or the elites. Because he wasn't a known politician and hadn't been elected for any office during his life time.

Let's assume he is elected. I'd bet he would look a bit like Jim Hacker, all full of ideas and suddenly being manipulated and blocked from all directions by the system and the power elites.

In a way, because he is so vain, he can be easily manipulated, IMO. I bet Ivanka does what she wants with him. And I wouldn't be surprised is she was the actual head behind him.

Roussette · 16/10/2016 10:00

Yes llewj let's hope it is like Jim Hacker - thinking he is totally in control but being manipulated behind the scenes by seasoned politicians. A good comparison!

And yes on Ivanka, she sounds a supremely intelligent woman, I think Melania will be very inconspicuous whatever the outcome.

merrymouse · 16/10/2016 10:06

In a way, because he is so vain, he can be easily manipulated

Although Trump describes the 'pussy' comments as 'locker room talk', the circumstances were very different. He was wearing a microphone trying to impress a TV presenter, (by talking like an lecherous old man) on his way to appear on a day time TV Soap.

I agree, he is out of his depth.
