Swc, don't fool yourslef that you have the high ground, not when you are advocating millions of households being plunged into poverty and forced to leave their homes, families and support systems. A lot of bullshit has been spouted on both sides, but the fact is, some people believe a workhouse is an appropriate solution to the country's problems. And they weren't joking. So while some of the jokes may have been a touch tasteless (and I agree there) which is worse, really?
I'm never going to agree with you where politics are concerned. I find the "I'm alright jack, these nasty plebs taking all the time should be stopped. Feed'em from food banks, what do they want dignity for?" Attitude pretty despicible. Whereas you probably think my floaty "let's all take care of each other and then march - up wiuth socialism" attitude irresponsible, but I at least admire your unshakeability. But I don't think you can claim any moral highground by virtue of having a disabled child. That looks like you support the cuts, as long as they don't affect you.
