swc, did someone actually call you a cunt and threaten to kill you Shock Hmm Sad

OracleInaCoracle · 25/01/2012 22:45

of course no-one should threaten to kill you, thats appalling. but some of the posts on here have been dreadful (one person actually DID suggest a workhouse for all unmarried mothers ffs)

therehastobemore, neither do the majority of benefit claimants. the only people affected live in central london and have larger famillies. the average claimant receives a pittance. its typical right-wing spin/DM propaganda.

HumphreyCobbler · 25/01/2012 22:47

all of us who voted Tory are cunts and worthy of shooting, didn't you know?

Oh, but it is ok though, it is just about tory scum.Hmm

Sorry it is all getting to you SWC. Having an actual understanding of a problem at the sharp end makes it all so much worse.

ElaineReese · 25/01/2012 22:47

Oh yes, who was it who wanted to put disabled people and unmarried mothers and poor people in institutions? Weirdo.

HumphreyCobbler · 25/01/2012 22:47

lets us remember that there are twats on all sides of the political divide.

YuleingFanjo · 25/01/2012 22:47

don't feed the tory troll Wink

HumphreyCobbler · 25/01/2012 22:48

should that say SOME twats on each side of the political debate Grin

ElaineReese · 25/01/2012 22:48

Yes,there are.

therehastobemore · 25/01/2012 22:48

surely they weren't serious though lissie? gawd help us. Who would want to live in central london anyway?

JoantheFennel · 25/01/2012 22:48

Well I thought it was the funniest thing I'd seen in a while. Thanks OP.

I think everyone on every side of the left/right divide who isn't an idiot thought the institutions post was strange and odd and wrong.

therehastobemore · 25/01/2012 22:51

go on humph, watch the link g'wan g'wan - it will make you smile, it will be wry, but you will smile anyway

OracleInaCoracle · 25/01/2012 22:51

therehastobemore, sadly yes.

there are some arguments that people wont be unanimous on. I will never convince a tory that socialism is an effective way to run society. and likewise, I will never be convinced that the conservatives have the greater good at heart.

I rarely post in politics now, I haven't the energy.

Ryoko · 25/01/2012 22:52

Well I liked it, the sad thing is now days you could do exactly the same thing for the whole fucking lot of them.

doesn't matter what party you vote for they are all a bunch of wankers.

OracleInaCoracle · 25/01/2012 22:52

SWC, oh dear.

It's funny, I enjoyed it! Nearly as good as the

cakeismysaviour · 25/01/2012 22:55

Just shows how predictable the Tories are, posted before the election and yet totally accurate.... :(

I did LOL though Grin

therehastobemore · 25/01/2012 22:56

ryoko, well said - its much my thinking too - we would be fucked no matter who was in number 10. I would just like to see more decision making power go to people who's understanding of the needs of the "common people" doesn't just come from sociology text books. This is a problem no matter what party is in power in my uninformed opinion

scarlettsmummy2 · 25/01/2012 22:58

amusing but predictable.

therehastobemore · 25/01/2012 23:00

yes, i think thts the point scarlet :)

ElaineReese · 25/01/2012 23:00

I don't know, I'd hope any posts like that were in made in the spirit of trying to point out what a stupid thing it was to say. But the nuance and motivation of such is not so easy to be justice about I suppose

Nilgiri · 25/01/2012 23:01

"I dream of a family income of 26k"

So do most people on benefits.

Not many households are going to get anywhere near that amount - it will probably involve extended families, disability (many families with disability benefits will be included) and/or being unable to move from somewhere with even more ridiculous rents than most (can happen with adapted premises, court orders, etc).
