This is the 3rd thread in a series.

It is for people who are horrified, frustrated and downright sad at the erosion of human rights with respect to how this country is being run, just now and in the recent past

it is apolitical in nature, but of course due to many recent initiatives by the recent govt, there will be rants against our current "leaders"

please join in

I shall post the link to the old threads, our "Too Many Cuts #Frothers" blog that is attracting a lot of widespread attention and a little bit of what we are about in a moment

OP posts:
KateFrothers · 09/12/2011 22:47

Blog here toomanycuts.blogspot.com

I also like the mix of posts at the moment. I like that you can dip into the blog and find something interesting and different to the last post and learn about stuff. That was the original idea - to share information and make the realities of living with the cuts real to ordinary, normal people.

I shall have a tinker with the foreword as promised and I will post up the draft strategy in a mo when on laptop (now i have it back after it got eaten Hmm).

KateFrothers · 09/12/2011 22:48

I am dead proud of us you know Smile

MmeLindor. · 09/12/2011 22:53

Oh, sorry. I wasn't quite clear.

I do mean that we should have the data packed blog posts, interspersed with the real stories of posters.

ie. Shirley's CSA post, or the Are you sure you are all right, Jack post.

Where we link the dry data with the way in which this affects a real person.

Obviously not all posts will have both these aspects, but some will and going by the stats, these are the ones that have been passed on most and read most.

ShirleyKnot · 09/12/2011 22:57

Mme or Kate! I'm away seeing rellies this weekend so on the iPad/phone. Could one of you post an update on the bottom of my HMRC post please about that fucker getting RETIREMENT rather than disciplinary action (and I'm sure a lovely fat pension)

Grr. SO EXCITED ABOUT THE GUARDIAN TOMORROW!

Keep on frothing!

Tianc · 09/12/2011 23:22

He isn't retiring till next summer. Plenty of time yet to suspend, investigate and sack...

carernotasaint · 09/12/2011 23:39

We have made the Guardian tomorrow. Fucking brilliant. Well done to all of you who have spent loads of time tweeting and blogging. Fabulous!!!!!

FuckYouGideon · 10/12/2011 00:30

Here is the Zoe Williams article - it is already on the Guardian website.

www.guardian.co.uk/theguardian/2011/dec/10/changes-to-child-maintenance

CardyMow · 10/12/2011 01:03

. The article links directly to my blog post and mentions the calculations I did. .

I'm glad that this will be wider knowledge now - as NONE of my RL friends that use the CSA had a clue that this was coming, until I told them.

We are starting to get our messages out there.

#frothers, getting noticed.

garlicnutcracker · 10/12/2011 02:17

Hunty, that's brilliant and very well deserved!

Thank you, Zoe Williams.

I realised tonight that we've completely missed out a huge network (Katie can you squeeze another network in your busy life? Your phone must be having a nervous breakdown Grin )

So. PLEASE will anybody who's got a LinkedIn profile hook up with Froth Ing on there?

You can start groups on LinkedIn, too. I'm just too frothed out to do it.
I'm sure that strait-laced, businesslike network will only be improved by a sudden influx of new, frothy members Wink

Scarletbanner · 10/12/2011 04:02

Wow! That's brilliant, so brilliant. Froth, froth, froth enough and someone will listen. Hope that stat counter is back up. Grin

Great post Hunty, I had no idea either Sad

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 10/12/2011 08:39

I'm on Linked In - what do you want me to do?

Meglet · 10/12/2011 08:47

I had a day off from frothing yesterday but will re-start today.

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 10/12/2011 09:28

It's unfortunate that the paper version of Zoe William's article has been lifted straight from the online one - the link to 'this blog' has been completely left out, and it just says 'this blog' in normal type! So there's no way of realising that the article is referring to our blog, and no URL that people can use to get to the blog.

What a shame.

TheMouseRanUpTheClock · 10/12/2011 09:39

Hunty, the online link is great, well done you!

Great that Zoe Williams did that link for the whole blog.

Oh that is a shame that the blog link is not available in the paper version, what a Sad error that was.

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 10/12/2011 09:41

We can ask them to print a correction but yes very annoying! The web version should get seen a lot at least - lots of people only really read papers online.

On which guardian has a Facebook app, if you read the article through your Facebook it will show up on your timeline.

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 10/12/2011 09:42

It was a really well written article too, definitely got across what we're trying to say.

Peachy · 10/12/2011 10:27

Well done Hunty & co!

KateFrothers · 10/12/2011 10:50

Well done all. Great article to be in and a whole link to the marvellous blog!

What a shame the paper version doesn't have the details. But also what an opportunity! I will ask Zoe to tweet the correction and we can get one printed in the paper. I'll also ask The Guardian main twitter account to mention the correct details.

But, it may help if we email asking what the link is. I will have a look for an address. I don't want to make lots of work for Zoe - she's been v good and it won't be here fault about the article. It'll be a harrassed sub somewhere.

lubeybaublely · 10/12/2011 11:17

Morning all #frothers

Man, that lie in was good. Making the most of them before Universal Credit makes leisure a thing of the past :o

FontSnob · 10/12/2011 11:18

Well done everyone and well done Hunty!!!! awsomeness is us :-) hugs and smooches and a glass of something fizzy all round.

RudolphthePinkNosedReindeer · 10/12/2011 11:25

Hi all

Am active in mh service user involvement in the North East, and would like to join in. Did a recent presentation on behalf of our regional network, North East together, at beginning of Oct. The conference was on taking forward the new mh policy. My presentation pointed out that taking any small step to recovery, such as going for a walk every day, could well result in being found fit for work with loss of £25 per week.

Anyway, can't do much atm as am working out figures for divorce settlement (!) but wanted to say hello.

KateFrothers · 10/12/2011 11:31

Hello Rudolph Smile

KnottyJustForChristmas · 10/12/2011 12:13

Hunty, you are a star! That's brilliant.
