Multiculturalism has failed, says Angela Merkel. Has it failed in Britain?

"The Approach to build a multicultural society and live side by side has failed, utterly failed". Says Ms. Merkel. Has it failed in Britain? Particularly when we remember that all of the 7/7 bombers were British born? It appears the bombers had no allegiance to this country.
I think it has failed, just as it has in Germany.

Leninghoul. I didn't make the joke. I just LOL out at the absurdity of it. In any case one cannot censure people on this site. Otherwise it would be Orwellian in the extreme and people would not have free speech. Plenty say things on here that I don't like (particularly about English people, being lazy, foreigners work harder etc) I don't and should not try to censure their language as I would not find it morally right to do so. Just as you can't stop DP pointing out daft ads from the Guardian. I shall actually try to google an ad from this appalling paper and see what's up. Wink

complimentary · 21/10/2010 12:44

Leninghoul. I googled the ad and found an article from Boris Johnson, were he castigates both The Guardian and Polly Toynbee and says, basically tht the paper has non-jobs and says "every gay and lesbian outreach worker" so one must ascertian from this, these jobs are indeed advertised. Could not cut and paste today. It's under Polly Toynbee the Tory Guru whose barking. From the Telegraph, so DP was right about the ad!. Have a nice day. Smile

Actually LG, there's a question that's been burning in my heart for hours now, I'd really like to ask you it....if that's ok with you.

Do you think Rooney will look good in a Chelsea shirt?

I agree, have had first hand experience actually. Someone looked at my photos and made very negative comments about me. It happens. I had to deal with it.

complimentary · 21/10/2010 18:08

DP. Negative comments about you? How dare they! As said before, I reckon you're not half bad!
If you are you could always replace your photo with Pamela Andersons and digitially change it slightly. Not that I have to do that of course, I now look more fantastic than I did yesterday, having had my teeth whitened!

I'm waiting for someone to respond soon politically, and put some sense back into this thread! Wink
P.s. Do you fancy Rooney?

daftpunk · 21/10/2010 19:01

I'm glad you like me, but I am 100% heterosexual, just don't want you falling in love or anything like that. I'm an acquired taste I think. plus couldn't care less if people think I'm ugly, I like being unconventional, and really don't care about my appearance. I have better things to worry about. I think I'm ok Smile

And no, I don't fancy Rooney. Does anyone?

Right, I'm off to read the New Statesman.

Actually LG, there is a political point to be made here.
I can have my Personal appearance ripped apart by some brainless idiot and nothing is said. the post wasn't deleted ( as far as I'm aware ) no one said anything, ( apart from harpy) because it was me she was personally attacking, and that's ok isn't it. Who gives a fuck if I'm personally attacked.

You are judged by the company you keep LG, I don't associate myself with many people on mumsnet, hardly any in fact.

Enjoy your evening.

complimentary · 21/10/2010 19:36

DP. If I had seen it I would have given them a mouthful! Have a nice evening both of you.
Smile
