madhairday And people wonder what vicars do Happy birthday to him and prayers for a manageable workload.
Sorry to hear that ds was not quite better this morning, curled up on sofa is what I want to do.

musicposy · 15/04/2010 20:37

Thank you for those wise words. DutchOma, that was very comforting. It's hard not to feel aggrieved sometimes that God would put us through this. I think I felt more like that at the beginning and DH has felt it more recently. A friend of mine said "God never gives you anything you can't handle", but I wasn't sure about that - I didn't believe I could handle this at the time. But I think I am, albeit in small steps.

madhairday, will keep praying for your dc and also your dh. Are schools back where you are? I'm on Easter holidays right now - back on Monday. Your DH sounds so busy - is it always like that? Hope he enjoys what he can of his birthday!

How was the dentist, DO? Going to the dentist is right at the bottom of my list of uplifting things to do

CaptainCaveman · 15/04/2010 20:47

Hello lovely fellowshippers

all good in CC land

Prayers much needed for next door neighbour who is in hospital following a brain haemorrage last week. Praise that he is up and about so very promising.

No update yet on little twin boy with poss brain damage, I will let you know as soon as I find anything out. The last I heard was that all of his tests so far have come back normal so it's a case of 'wait and see'.

Prayers too please for my colleague at work who has had some worrying neurological symptoms which they thought at first were a stroke (thankfully it wasn't) but they are querying something like MS. She is fairly young (late 40s) with 2 pre-teenage children.

DutchOma · 15/04/2010 22:12

Dentist was horrible. I had two fillings done, and then he said I would probably have problems with one tooth and then he would have to take it out. so pray protection for my tooth please, it is not hurting at the moment, so please may that continue for a long time.
He is a very nice young man though and very patient with me.

CaptainDippy · 15/04/2010 23:13

Glad it is over DO - brave lady

Prayers for next-door neighbour and work colleague CC - keep us informed xx

Glad you've had a break MP. Prayers for you. xx

Your poor little ones MHD and your poor DH and poor you too. Prayers for health and space for you all xx

Had a really crap day here Praying tomorrow will better!!!!!??

OP posts:
ZipadiSoozi · 16/04/2010 00:31

DO - Virtual good girl sticker for your dentist treatment!

CD - Prayers you have a better day tomorrow!

Weegie - in the round up it mentioned DX prem-menopause , if you need any support, please let me know, I went through menopause when I was 16yo its pants! HRT is the only way out, (she says 32 years later) taking it far out ways the medical problems that you could have not taking it! but mentally it takes alot of getting used to!

MaryBS · 16/04/2010 08:33

Please pray for my BIL, the one with the brain tumour. He has (in addition to the tumour) a cyst on his brain and is going in on Monday to have it drained. They are going to leave his brain 'open' afterwards to apply chemo directly to the tumour. But it doesn't sound very good.

Also pray for Ramir, the little baby boy whose mother is the big issue seller. He needs an operation as he is not feeding properly. His mother couldn't explain properly, but from where she was pointing, I assume the oesophagus

Prayers for next-door neighbour, the twin boy and work colleague CC.

Glad you survived the dentist DO, hope you are getting lots of rest!

CaptainDippy · 16/04/2010 08:39

Lots of prayers for your BIL, Mary. How is your sis doing? The children? Praying this treatment is effective. Poor little Ramir and his mother. Praying that he can get hte operation he needs. For once I will say thank goodness for the NHS, eh!!? Just as long as they can DX the prob and operate correctly .....

Prayers for a girl who used to work at the nursery my girls used to go to. Her little DS is 4.5m now and has a "Chromosome 5" disorder. He is still only 10lb and is having fits. They don't know what is wrong yet and poor girl is constantly sitting round in hospitals waiting and waiting Prayers for DX and treatment ASAP. Thank you

praying ladies x

Had prayer and choc here last night, it was fab.

MaryBS · 16/04/2010 09:57

Its my SIL (DH's sister). Not sure how she is doing, but knowing her, she is being strong for her DH. They have no children together, but SIL has a daughter from her first marriage, and BIL has been like a father to her. DNiece has a baby of her own as well.

Praying for the baby with Chromosome 5...

TACP, that sounds a fantastic combination! One of my former tutors does something similar, only prayer and puddings!

Hermya321 · 16/04/2010 11:15

Teaandcake Hmmm prayer and chocolate, sounds fab!

Praying for everyone!!

madhairday · 16/04/2010 12:00

Praying for your BIL Mary and the family, also the little baby of the big issue seller.
TACP, prayer and choc sounds just what you needed
Praying for the baby with the chromosone 5 CD, and also for you, do hope today is less crap. x
CC praying for your neighbour.
DO glad the dentist went well, will pray things stay ok with the teeth.

Have ds at home today but a bit better, so in that kind of not totally well but not totally ill phase, ie doesn't know what to do with himself.
Thanks for prayers re dh. It does seem to have mounted up recently. Day off today so he is relaxing but the weekend will be packed.

PositiveAttitude · 16/04/2010 13:11

Prayers for BIL Mary - for healing and peace.
Also for the poorly baby of the lady you have befriended. Pray that she will turn to God for comfort.

Prayers for everyone else on here too, for healthy DCs!
TACP really pleased that you are able to have good prayer and fellowship support from your church.

DSs 14th birthday today. Having a lovely day so far and we are just off to the beach for a walk, then back so that he can make a birthday cake, but he wants to make a srawberries & cream roulade!

DH is getting really stressed at work and we could do with some prayers as this is causing stress at home, as he can't "turn off". Been here before on a number of occasions over 21 years of marriage and I hate it every time. Prayers for a new job and guidance for the future would be good. thanks.

CaptainCaveman · 16/04/2010 14:01

Praying for you all.

Next door neighbour has a brain tumour not a haemorrhage (my mistake). They won't let him home atm, just 'keeping an eye on him'.

CaptainDippy · 16/04/2010 19:51

PA, my DH is just like that when she gets stressed at work - affects our home-life, but he clams up and won't talk about it. Total sympathy here Prayers for relief soon Happy Birthday to your DS, hope the Roulade went well

Oh CC Hope your next-door neighbour can come home to his family soon. xx

Better day today in DippyLand, thank you for prayers

MrsCadwallader · 17/04/2010 11:49

Crikey - I was hoping I would be able to keep up with this new thread, I'm already way behind

Many prayers for all, especially the many on here whose health and well-being is in the balance. May the Lord hold them and all who love and support them in his hand.

My problems are nothing in comparison to others but I'm becoming aware of how anxious I am about exams and everything that is currently ahead of me. I haven't been sleeping well and find it very difficult to switch off. I am also aware that I am not reacting to things and people in the way I normally would. I am very very 'narky' for want of a better word! Possibly the worse thing is my mind feeling so cluttered I cannot hear or feel God with me. I can't change that right now - I just have to push on through, with faith that he will be there waiting for me when I emerge at the other end!

Sorry - all I seem to do on this thread is pop up every now and then and ramble

CaptainDippy · 17/04/2010 12:24

MrsC, rambling is fine Prayers for peace. xx

OP posts:
DutchOma · 17/04/2010 14:49

MrsC what else is this thread for?
And yes, of course God will be there for you when you come out the other end. He is right with you now, too, whether you realise it or not.
When are the exams?

MrsCadwallader · 17/04/2010 15:05

CD and DO - thank you

DO the exams are in June. I think the anxiety has peaked a little this week because the boys are still off school so I can't knuckle down and get on with things, and because I am doing a week's work experience with a law firm from Monday too. It will be great (I hope!) but (a) I'm rather nervous and (b) I can't really focus on revision plans until it's out of the way! At least from next week I will have a 'clear run' up to the exams, and all the help and support from family will (I hope - again!) start to kick in, so with any luck I will feel more focused and less overwhelmed soon

I know in my heart that God is with me regardless, but life is so much harder when you can't hear him or sense his nearness.

DutchOma · 17/04/2010 16:42

One of the things I find most helpful when I can't switch off is using a well known prayer or verse from scripture (Almighty God unto whom all hearts are open... Lighten our darkness..etc) and come back to it every time your mind wanders.

musicposy · 17/04/2010 16:47

Really heartfelt prayers for all of those near to you, and for all of you in stressful situations. I wrote it all down here at first, but it was really long, but have read carefully what each and every one of you has put and prayed about each thing. xx

Just when I thought I'd had more over the last three weeks than I could handle, DH had a letter come through today saying he has a disciplinary hearing at work on Thursday and the threat of losing his job is high. He hadn't told me because he thought I couldn't cope with anything else after losing the baby. He works in airport security and I can't say too much, but basically he went through a door without following the proper procedure of being checked etc. He doesn't really know why he didn't do it correctly. He says his head is so all over the place with this miscarriage he can't think straight at the moment. Anyway, because security is so important this is apparently gross misconduct and we are terrified they will sack him.

I just don't know how I can take anything else in my life at the moment. I've been through so much and I think if he loses his job I will just completely break down. We are already in debt because of the IVF and have way too many overheads for our outgoings as it is. The girls do so many expensive things, ice skating, dance, drama, singing - but being involved in these things is keeping me going at the moment. I am frightened if he loses this job we will go under completely.

I feel as though God is punishing me for something, or testing me, or just doesn't care, but it's too much to cope with. Please pray that things will work out for us. It's not like DH has done anything awful like theft or fraud etc but unfortunately the line of work he is in people seem to get sacked left right and centre for the smallest mistakes - because mistakes could potentially be so serious. I'm really praying it will work out OK, but it's very scary. I'm starting to wonder just how much worse things can get.

PositiveAttitude · 17/04/2010 18:42

Oh musicposy (((hugs)))) to you. I have no magic words of wisdom, but I could not read and not respond. I will be praying for you, your husband and the whole awful situation. God knows the outcome. He knows what you will need and what you want before you have even thought it yourelf. Try to allow Him to have control. So hard, I know, but He can cope far better than you can, so give it all back to Him and leave Him to take control.
I will be praying on Thursday, for hearing. Does your church have a prayer chain that you could tap into?

Sending you more hugs and prayers aplenty.

CaptainDippy · 17/04/2010 18:47

I am really tired this eve, but just popping by with for musicposy. Sincerely hope your DH's job is kept safe. God doesn't punish us. I am sure of that. He loves you and wants the very best for you and your family. Trust in those plans to prosper and not to harm. Lift up your life to Him and He will show you the way you should walk. Keep concentrating on those positives - just took a wee peek at your profile and your girsl are completely gorgeous. Count those Blessings (it's the only way I can get through most days if I am really honest.) xxxx

OP posts:
DutchOma · 17/04/2010 19:15

Musicposy It is so understandable that you think God is punishing you for some unknown misdemeanour, but it is just not true. As Dippy and PA have said God is in control and He loves you.
You may be tested, but he will also, with the testing provide a way through for you, there will never be more than you can cope with.
He never takes you into the desert to leave you there, but oh my dear, it is so hard to actually believe that and the desert is a hard place to be.
"For this we have Jesus" as the chorus says.
Let us know how it all goes.

MaryBS · 17/04/2010 21:24

Just wanted to say that God is always faithful, it is us that doubt Him and blame Him, and at times turn away from him. But still he loves us. And he loves you too, musicposy. Can your DH not mention the extenuating circumstances? Does he have a union rep who can speak for him? Praying that all will be well...
