Roslily - Praying that God heals your DS. Great news about Alpha and feeling God's presence

JentlyDoesIt · 13/04/2010 15:35

Hello all,

Thank you so much for your prayers, it really means a lot to me

We have had a bit of a positive outcome today. The case has been adjourned until about October. The judge has requested full psych reports on the woman as the original report threw up more questions than answers. This will take around 6 weeks and when done, the judge will review to see if it is worth proceeding to the trial again.

From what i've heard, the woman has a lot of mental health "ishoos" and has made previous false claims for different things. So, although we are back with life on hold, it is looking like a more positive outcome might be had. Of course there is also a chance that DP may face jail, buyt less likely than it did 24 hours ago

Thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers. hope you are all having happy tuesdays.

MHD - hope the little ones are feeling better soon

Hermya - hoorah for pram pushing and for DH's job

Roslily - the alpha course sounds great. I have friends who have done it and really enjoyed it.

DO and CD - Helloooooo

PositiveAttitude · 13/04/2010 15:43

MHD - Prayers for poorly children and patience for you!

Prayers continuing for Jently and TACP and congratulations to Hermya's DH. Great news on the job.

I hope you can use the alpha course to ask all those questions and find answers Roslily. DH runs an alpha course here and has the next introductory supper tonight.

First day back to work for me today, a little weird. Not met the new minister yet, still. I too am church administrator, MHD.
Prayers would be appreciated for DH - for a new job! (As your prayers obviously worked for Hermya ) He is really unhappy in his current job, and has been searching, but without success. Latest application has gone in for one which is just temporary until July and rubbish money, he is so desperate to get out!

Waves to Mary and others.

PositiveAttitude · 13/04/2010 15:46

X-posted with you Jently while my internet was playing up.

Pleased to hear your news. Now prayers that it will all be thrown out and go no further. Prayers that it is sorted to conclusion soon, so that you can relax and get on with life.

Celebration meal tonight?

DutchOma · 13/04/2010 15:49

Jently pheeeew. Yes, life on hold, but it does look very much more promising. Thak you Lord.

teaandcakeplease · 13/04/2010 16:10

Jently - praise God! Very encouraging x

MaryBS · 13/04/2010 17:37

Hi PA (waves back), praying for your DH's job situation, and for you as you settle back into working with the new minister {hugs}

JDI - that sounds very positive. Waiting is so hard, but take strength from God as you wait.

Roslily YAY for God's presence! Praying for DS's ear infection. In fact praying for all with health problems...

Praise God, Sunday went really well! Still getting my head round it all, but I really felt God's presence round me, as I ministered to his people!

I am still struggling with "people", on and off. Loving God isn't a problem, but I find it hard to love people who make mistakes over DS and his Asperger's, especially when its other Christians. It hurts SO MUCH sometimes. I keep praying, always praying, but there are times I just want to give up, as it seems too hard.

It was Miroslav Volf that said that Jesus? greatest agony was not the pain and torment of the Cross but that he was abandoned to the cross by those he loved and who loved him. I wrote an essay on him, and sometimes bits come back to haunt me, like this bit:

"So, should we include everybody and exclude nobody? If we include everybody, do we try to make everyone like ourselves? There is more than one way to exclude someone. We could kill them ? unlikely, I would hope! We can ignore them, hope they go away. Or we can try to make them like us ?you are only left out by your own choosing ? you choose to be different?. And this is where it becomes relevant to our parish mission ? can we include ?others? without insisting they become like us?".

ARGH

Hermya321 · 13/04/2010 17:57

Jently Thats a result, hopefully those reports will shed some light on the matter.

I've been signed off a bit now and had my first session today, it was really positive and I think that a few more and I should be in a better frame of mind. God is being very good to us at the moment.

teaandcakeplease · 13/04/2010 19:51

Please can you pray for this lady.

Sad sad story and I said I'd ask you lot to pray. I don't normally do this but it really really moved me

MaryBS · 14/04/2010 08:44

Praying TACP for that lady, her family and their situation. Also still praying for you - how are YOU?

teaandcakeplease · 14/04/2010 09:04

How am I? Hmmmmm tearful, if I get talking about the situation a lot but mostly feeling ok (even though I know he's away with OW this week )

Thank you for asking x

Hermya321 · 14/04/2010 10:41

Teaandcake You know that God is with you in this, believe that he has the best in mind for you even though it probably feels like you're stood in front of a fan with some unmentionable stuff flying in your face.

teaandcakeplease · 14/04/2010 22:41

All in a worthy cause to make me smile though captaindippy

Did you see your friend?

musicposy · 15/04/2010 00:39

Hi everyone, I love the round up at the top.It really helps with what to pray for, especially as I haven't been on the thread long. Praying for you all x

We've been away to South Wales for nearly a week as we thought it would help all of us to take time out. I wasn't the happiest I've been on holiday as I can't get my mind off of losing the baby, but we had some really nice moments and I think it probably did us all good. The weather was absolutely glorious!

Thank you all for your prayers. They definitely helped me turn a corner in coping with the situation. I've been calmer and crying so much less. I'm still very sad for what I lost but I think that will take time. My girls are much happier which is wonderful as I was quite worried about how the whole situation was affecting them.

My DH said he feels very angry with God over it all. I think he's gradually coming through that but I would appreciate prayer to help him through the whole thing, too.

I will keep praying for you all and checking in here. xx

DutchOma · 15/04/2010 09:04

MP being angry with God is part of the grieving process. When I had two miscarriages in a row I came to the point where I said to God:"I want you out of my life. Yoiu're no good to me, I'll never ask for anything again, just get out." I found that praying was such an ingrained habit and I got to the point where I just shouted: "Get out, won't you, go away!" And He said:"My dear child, I can't".
I'm praying that your dh will see that God loves him in spite of these hard, incredibly hard, things happening.
I'm so glad you had a good week away.

JentlyDoesIt · 15/04/2010 09:48

Well said DO - you are such a wise lady

Just popping by to see how everyone is doing?

Also, giving thanks to God today for my beautiful DD who is 2 today How did that happen? It really has flown by... Happy birthday!

DutchOma · 15/04/2010 10:27

Thank you Jen Don't feel that wise, quaking in my shoes before a dentist's appointment

madhairday · 15/04/2010 12:21

Happy Birthday to your dd Jen! So glad the court thing has resolved a little for now.

Mary, so lovely about you feeling God's presence when ministering. Could do with some of that on sunday when I am speaking!

PA hope all goes well with new minister.

TACP - gosh so hard for you. sending hugs, and keeping praying.

Did you get to see your friend CD?

musicposy, glad you are feeling a little more peaceful. Give yourself time, it is not something you just get over, and like DO said very normal to cry out at God, and a good healthy thing to do. He is in it with you, somehow. sending hugs.

Thanks for prayers for my poorly dc. They are much better and back at school. dd's psoriasis still flaring up but managing it just about.
I'm stressed about dh's workload atm. He is preaching like twice a week as well as all the other church stuff. It's his birthday today and he has a funeral, 2 baptism visits, a midweek communion, a service rehearsal anda shift at a charity thing he does. He is overstretched and I'm quite worried about him. would appreciate prayers.

madhairday · 15/04/2010 13:41

Spoke too soon about the dcs being better - just got a call from school to go and pick ds up. He is now curled up on the sofa with a temp and shivers, bless him. Feel guilty now for sending him in, but he really seemed fine this morning.
