Am a bit UGH, but just wanted to say hi and you are in my prayers. Just been into school re: meeting with Ed Psych, and it seemed to go very well. School is clued up, and I'm really pleased about that.

DD1 bit me a few times when she was learning to kiss me. She'd give me a huge cuddle and then bite me Eventually she learnt to kiss without teeth!

I'll update about me later but for once I have two sleeping children so I'm off to lie down!

MaryBS · 12/10/2009 17:43

Prayers needed for Misdee's Peter

MaryBS · 12/10/2009 21:07

Eek! I've won a holiday - a weekend at Disneyland Paris! Eeeeeeek!!!!

Swaliswan · 12/10/2009 21:51

That's fab Mary!

I don't have the energy to update properly now but if you have the energy, then feel free to have a nosey through my postnatal thread from here.

I can't believe that DH is acting like this even though he came home yesterday after a weekend mountain biking with the TA to find me sobbing away with DD1 trying to cheer me up.

Notquitegrownup · 12/10/2009 22:16

Mary - Eeek - exciting! Have you really won one, in the church raffle or something, or have you had a phone call saying you've won one, from a company you've never heard of - in which case, be scared, be very very scared!

Flying by. G'night all.

MaryBS · 12/10/2009 22:34

No it was an email, and it all seems to check out. I did enter a competition to win one, and the info on the site said they'd notify people by 6pm today, which they did.

Here's an old link for it, which takes you to the ford website, but because the comp is closed, it doesn't show on there anymore:

holiday

weegiemum · 13/10/2009 03:11

Just dropping in before bed.

Been a hard day emotionally, we have visited people today living in horrendous poverty (For example - Mum (no Dad), 11 children, 4 grandchildren all living in a small wooden shack with no fresh water, 2 chairs, a table and a couple of beds for them all. Yet we had a great time with them, but I cried when I came out because is there any other response to this?).

Life isn't fair. I have to learn to deal with this, because it is beyond me to do nothing!!

Please pray for Carmen and her family. We will visit again before we leave, hopefully.

And pray for strength for us to deal with all we are experiencing.

Despite all this, it is an amazing place, we are staying with amazing people, there is so much to do, but so much hope.

You can see some more of the neigbourhood etc on The Innerchange Website - under places pick Venezuela, where you will see some pictures and can read some people's stories of life here.

Thanks for your support, we are really appreciating it!

DutchOma · 13/10/2009 15:08

Ring up for an appointment then, go on ...

amberlight · 13/10/2009 17:08

Back from docs with ds, who has a blood infection after a rugby injury, poor man. Prayers would be appreciated as he's supposed to be going on a school trip to Rome on Saturday and the antibiotics need to work for him.

Prayers for everyone else too...

Swaliswan · 13/10/2009 20:06

Thanks for e-mail DO. Been a manic day but I will reply when I'm not so tired. You made lots of very useful and valid points for me to mull over.

Can I ask all of you to join me in prayers of thanks for the mortgage company finally agreeing our mortgage and sending the pack to our solicitor today. Please pray that we will be able to go in and see the solicitor on friday to sign contracts and exchange so that we can move on 27th. Otherwise it will be back to the back-up plan of sign and exchange on 26th and move on 30th. I have to phone the solicitor in the morning to ask and I know that it will only be by the grace of God that our rather unhelpful solicitor will agree to see us on friday...

DutchOma · 14/10/2009 09:39

Glad things are looking up for you SS.
We all need the grace of God and He is very willing to supply abundantly.

CaptainDippy · 14/10/2009 10:32

You are lovely DO

Praying for DS, amber - poor thing. xx

Praying all goes smoothly SS. xx

Got to buzz .... off to Harvest Service for DD1 and DD2 at church ....

Finding it hard to trust God who clearly has his own agenda for sorting out our house. DH is not going away next week so we have no problems now for exchanging and he's not going away for the weekend at the end of the month. Pretty much all TA is cancelled for 6 months which is lovely in so many ways. It's what I've wanted for ages. But now our finances are firmly in God's lap. Things may be very tight for a while and I think that this worry is the true root of much of DH's recent behaviour. I want to wrap him up and protect him from this stress but I can't

Praying for both SS and N.

Yes God's timing is perfect. His provision is endless. He never promised it would be easy.

positiveattitudeonly · 14/10/2009 17:04

Prayers for SS and N. Everything is in God's hands. It is so easy to look back and say that, but so hard to leave everything to Him in the first place!

I will be "disappearing" for a week or two as from Monday. One week of a staff retreat. A christian charity, so we are taking the time to search for God's plan as a team and individually. I can't wait and we are all expecting God to speak and guide each one of us. Prayers would be appreciated.
Then a few days with my poorly DD3 visiting DD1. I am hoping that it wont be too much for DD3 to cope with and we are looking forward to it all very much.

Thanks to all you lovely ladies. I often don't post, but will always read and pray!

CaptainDippy · 15/10/2009 07:06

That sounds blissful PAO - can I hide in your suitcase!!? I am too busy atm, trying to remain unruffled, but isn't easy.

Prayers for SS and for MJIM's little N - hope she is feeling brighter soon. Not easy this time of year - lots of colds and sickness going round!

Seeing my dad today, always nice, but potential for more stress. Let's hope not, eh!!?
