Christian Prayer thread for late Autumn - keep praising when the leaves are falling and it isn't Christmas

A week or so ago there was a post in the prayer thread from TinkerbellesMum which I quote here in full because I think she has something important to say:

"I don't normally post in this section or this thread, but I wanted to share something that my sister's Pastor said a few months ago at a Dedication because on a regular basis I'm logging into MN and seeing it come to truth again and again.

He said that the devil has started an attack on children.

If you look through this year you will see so many children have died in really horrible circumstances, we've not seen anything like this happening before.

Please when you pray can you include our children in general, ask God for His protection over our own, each others' and the unknown child. Ask for Him to send His angels to fight against this attack."

We've only got to remember Baby P to know that terrible things are happening and that the only weapon we have against the forces of darkness is prayer. That is a strong weapon and a weapon that will bring results for the safety and security of our own children but also as TM says "the unknown child".
So can I encourage you all to praise God for our children and to set side a few moments to ask His protection on them, but also to pray protection over the millions of children which don't have the quality of life that they should have.

We then pray for our unborn children:- Swaliswan's, Boffinmum's and of course Tinkerbellesmum's own baby. Also for the other children in those families.

We remember those with health problems:
Belgianbun's sister recovering from an operation. OJ who goes to hospital on Monday to have a lump investigation - please God, no more trouble.
Zipadisuzy's dh who fell off a ladder and has cracked ribs and for Suzy who is picking up his workload.
NSFN struggling with depression, praying that this will not continue all winter.
And we give thanks for M44's ds2 who is on the mend but pray for dd1 who is still struggling with a broken arm.

We pray for those who are struggling with various issues:- CaptainDippy, Peachy, FAQ (praying that her babysitting problems can be resolved to enable her to continue as church organist) and CaptainCaveman.

And so to all of us who are part of this small community and who will always pray for one another:- MaryBS (continued prayer for BIL and MIL), Amber, Jentlydoesit (good news at the eye hospital) Myjobismum (good news about ds's behaviour at preschool), NowWeAreFour (continued prayer as requested for her nanny, PandaG and NotQuiteGrownUp (will she ever?)
Also we remember RevJustabout in her work with the Reluctant Worshippers.
And so we come before our Heavenly Father Who hears all our prayers and answers them in His own way. Thanks be to God

Just a quick question before I go to bed...

Has anyone on here heard any of Mike Endicott's teaching on healing? If it helps, he is a blind anglican minister based in south Wales and he co-founded The Well Centre.

Night All

Morning! Just had a bit of a shock that has left me a bit ; but I am ok. How is everyone else doing?

Swaliswan · 24/11/2008 11:47

Oh no, CD! What happened?

I'm feeling a bit better this morning - less tearful anyway. I have got loads of stuff to work through in my head. I was a good girl and had my blood tests this morning but I'm going to reserve the right to moan all day about my sore arm!

Hello- Praying for all that are not having such a great time.

I just want to share that we had an amazing healing service last night. Our evening services are usually very small, but last night 28 came, which I know doesn't seem like many, but the average is 12! My vicar and another member of church and I have been working on a different kind of service using music as a chanel for healing as well as prayer. Last night we had real answer to prayer- 4 people came up to be ministered to- which was a privelege to be part of. So if you have a mo- please thank God for that. I really feel that something exciting is happening within the heart of our church- hurrah!

amber32002 · 24/11/2008 17:21

Prayers aplenty continuing here, for everyone...

PandaG · 24/11/2008 17:29

prayimg for you SS - is a difficult situation with your Dad. I know our God can heal, and I jusrt don't understand when he doesn't, but I keep on praying but do not blame the faith or otherwise of the person I am praying for. Hugs honey, and praying that you can deal with your Dad. LOvely he wants to pray for you though...

CD - hug to you.

M44 - thanks indeed for your service, I agree, it is a priviledge to pray for others.

Mary, continuing to pray for your church situation.

love to you all. xx

JentlyDoesIt · 24/11/2008 17:59

Hello ladies, lurking and praying as always.

SS - hope your sore arm is better soon. Am sorry to hear about the stuff with your Dad, sounds very challenging and stressful for you. Much love

MJIM - Just repeat "He is a toddler. This is a season, it will pass" If DS is silly like this, I just walk away and not feed the flames of his silliness by giving him attention. HTH

CD - What's happened lovely? Have a hug...

M44 - for your healing service.

Hello to everyone else. DP had his angiogram today - they injected him with iodine and took lots of pictures of his eye (mainly his retina) - results by post soon Please could you pray for him as he is feeling very queasy and sorry for himself

Just popping in quickly to say HUGE prayers of praise to God. I had a wonderful friend come round to see me this morning. She is one of only a very small handful of people who I don't mind seeing the flat in the state it's in atm! Anyway, we had a really good chat about a load of things and I feel a lot better about things for talking to her. She also told me that someone in the parish is particularly good on the subject of healing and might be worth going to see. I'm off to see her tomorrow morning and am really happy that it's her. I know that God is placing people in my life to help me through the turmoil that I'm in. I was so close to tears when my friend told me that I'm beautiful in every way. I think I just said 'Really?!' and she said that I am very close to God and that it shows and gives me a special sort of beauty. I had never realised that people would think that of me before.

DutchOma · 25/11/2008 15:03

SS, No you don't think of things like that for yourself. But I'm sure that your friend was inspired by the Hoy Spirit when she said that, because that is exactly the way God thinks about you. You are very special to Him.

SS - that is totally lovely.

NSFN, I just typed something for you and managed to delete it - maybe I wasn't meant to say what I was going to say. Just wanted to say you've been a true friend for me, and for that I'll always be grateful. Also that I am here for you if you need me...

(oo that's stayed, obviously that bit of the message was "OK" to say )

CaptainDippy · 25/11/2008 16:54

Oh SS - how wonderful!!

notsofarnow · 25/11/2008 19:11

thanks mary, cd and everyone else. My CBT homework for this week is to look for and write down the positives. Today I had dd3 lying in bed with me this morning and saying 'I love you mama' and when I eventually got my backside off the settee and took dog for a walk the sky was perfect blue and found a lovely lady from slimming world to walk round the field with.

But as much as i see the positive i very quickly dismiss it with the negative that i can also attatch to the situation aghhhhhh so frustrating.

amber32002 · 25/11/2008 20:21

Still praying for all.

Jently, prayers for your DP, and for you too.
NSFN, praying for peace in your heart tonight and in the week ahead.
SS, what a lovely thing for your friend to say, and what wise words from her. To God, we're all lovely.

Prayers please...there's a big meeting at my church tomorrow in which they decide whether we get a new vicar or not, and when, and what sort. Scary times ahead for me.

CaptainDippy · 26/11/2008 11:20

Am praying amber. xx

amber32002 · 26/11/2008 18:45

No-one's been here all day.....hope everyone's ok? Prayers aplenty. Off to meeting in a few mins.

Notquitegrownup · 26/11/2008 22:37

Oh poo, NSFN - not the perfect birthday, then? Though well done on tucking into those chocolates. And Happy Birthday from me, too.

You can start planning now for next year and what you would really have liked doing . . . . then make sure that next year you book it. (Mind you, winter birthdays are hard with little ones. I went to a soft play centre last year, as it was on a very cold, wet Sunday in February!

DutchOma · 27/11/2008 08:00

I've had an MSN message from NASWM ato say that ds1 is very unwell and that she feels very helpless about a hopeless situation.
Please pray to the God of all hopefulness for this little boy.
