Christian Prayer thread for late Autumn - keep praising when the leaves are falling and it isn't Christmas

A week or so ago there was a post in the prayer thread from TinkerbellesMum which I quote here in full because I think she has something important to say:

"I don't normally post in this section or this thread, but I wanted to share something that my sister's Pastor said a few months ago at a Dedication because on a regular basis I'm logging into MN and seeing it come to truth again and again.

He said that the devil has started an attack on children.

If you look through this year you will see so many children have died in really horrible circumstances, we've not seen anything like this happening before.

Please when you pray can you include our children in general, ask God for His protection over our own, each others' and the unknown child. Ask for Him to send His angels to fight against this attack."

We've only got to remember Baby P to know that terrible things are happening and that the only weapon we have against the forces of darkness is prayer. That is a strong weapon and a weapon that will bring results for the safety and security of our own children but also as TM says "the unknown child".
So can I encourage you all to praise God for our children and to set side a few moments to ask His protection on them, but also to pray protection over the millions of children which don't have the quality of life that they should have.

We then pray for our unborn children:- Swaliswan's, Boffinmum's and of course Tinkerbellesmum's own baby. Also for the other children in those families.

We remember those with health problems:
Belgianbun's sister recovering from an operation. OJ who goes to hospital on Monday to have a lump investigation - please God, no more trouble.
Zipadisuzy's dh who fell off a ladder and has cracked ribs and for Suzy who is picking up his workload.
NSFN struggling with depression, praying that this will not continue all winter.
And we give thanks for M44's ds2 who is on the mend but pray for dd1 who is still struggling with a broken arm.

We pray for those who are struggling with various issues:- CaptainDippy, Peachy, FAQ (praying that her babysitting problems can be resolved to enable her to continue as church organist) and CaptainCaveman.

And so to all of us who are part of this small community and who will always pray for one another:- MaryBS (continued prayer for BIL and MIL), Amber, Jentlydoesit (good news at the eye hospital) Myjobismum (good news about ds's behaviour at preschool), NowWeAreFour (continued prayer as requested for her nanny, PandaG and NotQuiteGrownUp (will she ever?)
Also we remember RevJustabout in her work with the Reluctant Worshippers.
And so we come before our Heavenly Father Who hears all our prayers and answers them in His own way. Thanks be to God

I live J11 of the M25 which is NW Surrey, How about May time when hopefully it will be warm enough to go to the park?

DutchOma · 16/11/2008 21:58

I can only see one in Amsterdam and in Maastricht. What an excuse to go to Maastricht, that's one of my favourite towns. Bound to go at least once before next summer. But there is a webshop as well.
Praying for you SS and NSFN that you will be able to keep your mood light as it is now.

Prayers aplenty for each person and situation as I read through. Meet ups? Never sure if I'm brave enough for a meet up with more than one person, but I love the idea

DutchOma · 17/11/2008 08:24

Prayers for OJ today.

Many thanks for the round up DO. Funnily enough I just thought this week that I might be in danger of growing up a bit (not too much, I hope)! Do I have to change my name?!

Lovely to hear about your healing, Cargirl. And yay to a meet up. Please can we go for June rather than May? DS2 has two big football tournaments in May, DH has a big birthday and we have a short break booked with friends (and I have nothing much planned for the rest of the year!!)

Things sound grim at church Mary. Still, at least if they are being brought to the surface they can be dealt with. Praying for all involved with your church.
Prayers for all on the roundup.

Prayers for all on this thread.

CaptainDippy · 17/11/2008 10:40

Ooooh, excited about meet up already!!

How are you today SS? Have the pains gone now? Praying sweetie. xx

Hi all

A big thank you to DO for posting for me and for the round up. DP has taken today off as his vision is still blurry after some tests and drops yesterday but is happily playing on his Xbox so I do wonder as DO has said, he has an angiogram next week plus diabetes tests. The dr has said it is an aneurysm (sp) but they obviously need to see hwere and how severe - I am v worried please keep praying, we have enough eyesight troubles here...

Prayers for everyone, sorry for not mentioning people by name.

CaptainDippy · 17/11/2008 12:23

Must be very worrying for you, poor things Do keep us posted and be assured of muchos prayers from DippyLand xx

ZipadiSuzy · 17/11/2008 12:30

SS - Prayers for your tummy pains, did they go away??????????

OJ - prayers for you today as you undergo your investigation at hospital

Continued prayers please for dh back/ribs!!!!!! he's now getting on my nerves have sent him back to work on light duties

Sorry more prayers needed for ds1, have received 'cause for concern' letter from his school (senco) re: his dyslexia, poor thing is struggling - doesn't have the confidence to ask for help! Have a meeting with the learning support team next Wednesday. I wish they would listen to us though. They seem to just poo poo our ideas that may help Callum. But who are we?

ZipadiSuzy · 17/11/2008 12:31

CD - Hia dippyland!
Love Zippyland! {{{{{{BOING}}}}}}}

Swaliswan · 17/11/2008 12:36

Thanks for the messages, Ladies. It seems to be that the pains I've been having are probably just 'growing pains'. I felt a lot better after having a bath and then being kept awake by been doing back flips I've been sent home from work today though after trying to go back after a month off and promptly threw up a couple of times and kept on getting my vision clouding in with light headedness I'm feeling a bit down and wonder when my 'morning sickness' is going to stop.

JDI - prayers for peace for you and healing for your DP.

CaptainDippy · 17/11/2008 20:10

I really do hope the this MS stops soon SS

amber32002 · 18/11/2008 07:01

Prayers for all of you as I read through.

Could do with a prayer or two myself. I'd asked someone to help explain something really important for me...and instead, they just delayed for two weeks, then said they were too busy and asked me to go and ask someone else. I just feel so , because really only they can sort this out, and clearly they don't want to...so I'm stuck now. Sorry to be so vague. Prayers that I'll know what to do, please...

NorthernLurker · 18/11/2008 07:19

amber - prayers for another door to open for you and that you can see your way

SS - praying for you to feel better. The sickness that goes on and on is dreadful and nobody really appreciates how hard it is unless they've been there to - well I have and I pray you get some relief.

CD - for feeling

Love and prayers to all

oh mjim - no advice, but just to let you know that I am praying for you.

praying too for Naomi,

and for you and DH CD

Amber, praying you will get things explained. x

Swaliswan · 18/11/2008 14:23

MJIM, have you taken him to see your GP and explained about his behaviour? Maybe there is an underlying cause for it which the GP could help with?

Speaking of GPs, I'm not very impressed with my GP surgery. I just had a one minute telephone conversation with my GP as they wouldn't give me an appointment. I mentioned my dizziness when talking about my sickness and needing a certificate for work. But, he didn't ask about it at all and just said 'oh, so you need a certificate for work then'. I feel too ill to put up a fight. I feebly tried to ask for some different anti-sickness tablets but didn't get anywhere I guess I'm just supposed to wait out this horrible morning sickness and dizziness stage and stop being a moaning pregnant woman.
