Mumsnet prayer thread for July

Since the last prayer update there have been three bereavements on this thread alone Onlyjoking's Steve, MartianBishop's husband (who had been presented with his MBE just days before his death) and Evenstar's husband who died very suddenly while away from home.
Our prayers are with them. Special prayers for OJ as she battles with difficult relations. Praying that she will be able to get everything done before she goes away on holiday to Lanzarote to scatter Steve's ashes in a place where they have been very happy.

Praying for CaptainCaveman and MyJobismum as they expect their babies. Praying that there may soon be a positive, acceptable offer on CC's house.

Health problems:- CaptainDippy with a persistent cough. Things are not easy for our Dippy at the moment, please, if you can, concentrate your prayers on her and her family for a wee while.

Podmog can be in a hard place from time to time. Things are looking up, but it's going to take time and patience.

Swaliswan will receive treatment for a longstanding problem, but no problems have been discovered after extensive blood tests.

I haven't heard how PandaG's mum is doing after her lung operation.

We also pray for Nicole, Mary's friend who was taken ill with meningitis while in Cyprus. Her life hung by a thread, but over the past few days she has held her own.
Continuing prayers for Mary's friend Marg who suffered three grievous bereavements in a very short time.

We pray for Suzy that she may be delivered from Trojan Horses. Lord what did we do before we had computers?

We pray for Amber, that she may find the right way to communicate .

We pray for Mary in her studies, giving thanks for recent successes. Also for Weegiemum and Weegiedad, who passed exams at the end of the academic year.

We pray for Notsofarnow and FAQ for wisdom in newly developing relationships.

Welcome to newbies bealcain (and her friend), justabout and PurpleLostPrincess. Hoping to hear more from Bottersnike whose dh40 posted to ask for prayers in a very sudden difficult illness, which fortunately resolved itself quickly.
We give thanks for all on the board who pray for us Notquitegrownup who 'flies by', Jentlydoesit (Podglet), Mufti, Roseylea and Astrophe

And we pray for all of us that we may be true servants of the one living God in the care we give to each other in prayer and practical help.

Prayers as ever for all here as I read through, especially for those tearful, those expecting a baby sooner than they were prepared for (! ) and for those grieving for the sudden losses in their lives.

Prayers please for a friend of mine who has just found out she has breast cancer.

Good news for me - the group who were apparently being really prejudiced about working with me have written to apologise for it. What a relief after me worrying about it for weeks.

CaptainDippy · 16/07/2008 17:57

Love & Prayers to all. xx

Can I ask that you all say a prayer for a little boy? The son of a close friend of mine will be having a heart operation tomorrow morning. It's not his first operation, and he's only two If you could hold him, his mum and dad and big brother in your thoughts, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks to you all.

Evenstar · 17/07/2008 06:57

I would like to ask your prayers for my family today, as DH's funeral is this afternoon. Sorry if I seem to be asking rather than giving, but I am remembering others in my prayers, just not able to post too often.

mufti · 17/07/2008 07:09

thinking of you evenstar, prayers for strength, that the day goes well
there are times we are able to give, and times we arent, no need to apologise. you are going through a lot at the moment

MaryBS · 17/07/2008 07:43

Praying Evenstar, that God comfort you today, and support you in your pain.

Also Fourarms, for that little boy, and his family.

mjim, that music is so haunting! Thank you!

Amber, praying for your friend, it seems so common atm

NSFN, praying for you, and for your love life!

DS had a meltdown today, because he wanted toast, and I tried to give him cereal, and it "was a toast day". I had a meltdown too...

notsofarnow · 17/07/2008 07:49

evenstar thinking and praying for you and your family today, praying that you feel Gods arms round you, protecting you and upholding you.

DutchOma · 17/07/2008 09:04

Prayers for you Evenstar on the day of your husband's funeral. That you may be guided by the Holy Spirit and carried through in the secure knowledge that you darling husband is now safe with the Lord.
Praying for the little boy Fourarms asks us to pray for. Praying that he will come through the operation, that the Lord guide the hands of the surgeons and that his family have total peace about it all.
Also praying for OJ and Co as they travel to Lanzarote to scatter Steve's ashes.
Jo 'doesn't do' prayers, but is grateful for ours all the same.

Yes, praying for OJ and the family. xx

Praying for you, your family & friends today Evenstar. Don't apologise for "not giving" at this time. This is your time to recieve. xx

Praying for your friend's DS as he undergoes his heart op, FourArms. Do come back and let us know how it went. Poor little man God is here.

Feeling worse this am ; but P has gone down for her nap, which is great; but I am now compeltely anxious and paranoid she is going to wake up any moment Feeling so pathetic.

FourArms · 17/07/2008 10:52

Thanks for your thoughts everyone. The op has now been delayed by 4 hours, which I'm sure is going to seem like a very long time. He should be out by about 5pm.

CaptainDippy · 17/07/2008 10:55

Oh no FourArms ..... how horrid for that poor little boy and for his family too. Hanging around in hospitals sucks Praying the time goes quickly for them all. xx

CaptainCaveman · 17/07/2008 12:28

Praying for peace of mind for the little boy and his family fourarms. CD have you still got those tabs the gp gave you? Would it be wise to go back and see the gp now? Praying for you too, sorry you are feeling so rotten .

Thank you for your prayers for me - I am feeling dapper once more and am PRAISING THE LORD for my lightened spirit and peace of heart. 36 weeks today and little 'Jerry' is wriggling around like a good 'un . The song "I've got that joy, joy, joy, joy, down in my heart, Where?, down in my heart, Where?, down in my heart" keep whizzing around my head . Truly feeling blessed by the Lord today.

Mary how is Nicole doing today?

MaryBS · 17/07/2008 14:58

CCM - I haven't heard any more about Nicole, may know more tomorrow.

Fourarms - that poor boy, he must be so hungry, because they'll have starved him for the first op?

FourArms · 17/07/2008 16:42

Thanks everyone. He's come through the op OK, and is now going to intensive care. Just have to hope that he manages to fend off all the nasty infections over the next week.

CaptainCaveman · 17/07/2008 16:53

We will of course keep them all in our prayers. Praising God that he has come through the op ok. Lord hold this little one in your arms until he is safely through this and back on the road to wellness.

NorthernLurker · 17/07/2008 17:09

fourarms - praying for that little lad.

Evenstart - remembering you and your family on this hard day.

CaptainCaveman - not long to go praying for you and your little one!

myjobismum - that's a lovely song - thanks for sharing that

Love and prayers to all

MaryBS · 17/07/2008 21:32

Evenstar, how are you? Been thinking of you and yours today...

I've prepared my sermon for Sunday (and a big thanks to Rosey for her help). Its the toughest one I've done yet, yet if anything is from the heart its this one, and I've found it so powerful to ME I've changed my mind on something... I pray I may reach others in the same way...

Wishing you all strength, faith, joy and happiness, in equal measures

stickybun · 17/07/2008 23:52

Evenstar - praying that your day has gone as it should X

Evenstar · 18/07/2008 00:37

Thank you all of you for your prayers, the service was emotional, but beautiful and comforting I feel certain now that DH has "gone home".

MaryBS · 18/07/2008 07:32

Evenstar - thanks for letting us know, you are a very brave lady, I am glad you found some comfort in the service.

DutchOma · 18/07/2008 08:42

Yes he has gone home, Evenstar and will be waiting for you when you come home as well. So glad to hear the service was a comfort to you. Praying for you that your faith will hold you up in the coming days.
