Mumsnet prayer thread for July

Since the last prayer update there have been three bereavements on this thread alone Onlyjoking's Steve, MartianBishop's husband (who had been presented with his MBE just days before his death) and Evenstar's husband who died very suddenly while away from home.
Our prayers are with them. Special prayers for OJ as she battles with difficult relations. Praying that she will be able to get everything done before she goes away on holiday to Lanzarote to scatter Steve's ashes in a place where they have been very happy.

Praying for CaptainCaveman and MyJobismum as they expect their babies. Praying that there may soon be a positive, acceptable offer on CC's house.

Health problems:- CaptainDippy with a persistent cough. Things are not easy for our Dippy at the moment, please, if you can, concentrate your prayers on her and her family for a wee while.

Podmog can be in a hard place from time to time. Things are looking up, but it's going to take time and patience.

Swaliswan will receive treatment for a longstanding problem, but no problems have been discovered after extensive blood tests.

I haven't heard how PandaG's mum is doing after her lung operation.

We also pray for Nicole, Mary's friend who was taken ill with meningitis while in Cyprus. Her life hung by a thread, but over the past few days she has held her own.
Continuing prayers for Mary's friend Marg who suffered three grievous bereavements in a very short time.

We pray for Suzy that she may be delivered from Trojan Horses. Lord what did we do before we had computers?

We pray for Amber, that she may find the right way to communicate .

We pray for Mary in her studies, giving thanks for recent successes. Also for Weegiemum and Weegiedad, who passed exams at the end of the academic year.

We pray for Notsofarnow and FAQ for wisdom in newly developing relationships.

Welcome to newbies bealcain (and her friend), justabout and PurpleLostPrincess. Hoping to hear more from Bottersnike whose dh40 posted to ask for prayers in a very sudden difficult illness, which fortunately resolved itself quickly.
We give thanks for all on the board who pray for us Notquitegrownup who 'flies by', Jentlydoesit (Podglet), Mufti, Roseylea and Astrophe

And we pray for all of us that we may be true servants of the one living God in the care we give to each other in prayer and practical help.

Thanks for your prayer ladies.

My stone passed at 5.30 pm and I know there is another on the way, but am OK about it - it needs to come out.

Also would like to ask for prayers for my db and his wife - they had a m/c about 8 weeks ago, and are still really down and sad. I know that is natural, but I am worried for my SIL, she seems on the verge of depression. They are TTC again, so please pray for them.

Swaliswan · 23/08/2008 07:34

Good morning, Ladies.

Sorry that I haven't been on for ages. I've been having a hard time and haven't felt able to post. Anyway, I hope you don't mind me asking for prayer this morning. I promised myself that I wouldn't say anything yet, but I found out the other day that I'm pg again (after mc in feb). I feel so nervous about this pregnancy today having felt so positive about it. I know it may sound silly but I'm worried because I don't feel sick this morning. DH is away which doesn't help (DD is being very cute though!). Please could you all pray for everything to be OK with this little bean and for me to feel peaceful about things. I don't think that I would cope very well with another mc.

mufti · 23/08/2008 08:25

do you know how many weeks you are SS, have you had some sickness already?

i pray for your new little bean , and for you to relax and not worry.

mufti · 23/08/2008 08:25

and CONGRATULATIONS of course!

Swaliswan · 23/08/2008 09:25

Thanks Mufti. According to my LMP, I was 5 weeks on thursday. I tested then because I'd had terrible nausea for a couple of days and that continued yesterday. I had severe sickness with DD which started at 6 weeks and until that point I was worried about not feeling as sick/pregnant as I had the day before with that pg as well (having had a mc before being pg with DD). I really hate this stage of pg as both of my mc's were at 5.5 weeks so this is a very nerve-wracking time.

DutchOma · 23/08/2008 09:32

I was only just thinking of you this morning SS and wondering how you were.
Congratulations!! prayers for your peace of mind, enjoy the fact that you are not sick this morning. Rest, as much as you can and give dd a cuddle from her virtual Oma.

Weegiemum, I've been feeling sick in the pit of my stomach for you (after reading your other thread as well. Last night I knew that, if I didn't hand this over to the Lord, I wouldn't sleep, so prayed for you and your dh and all your problems and then SLEPT. This morning I woke up with the assurance that God would work things out in His way - don't know how, but I'm sure He will be able to use this whole ghastly situation to His glory.

Glad stone has passed WM - you poor poor thing Committing you to the Lord, may good come of this situation. xx Praying for your DB and his wife too, so for them. Praying for a lovely healthy Bean soon

Speaking of lovely healthy Beans .... so lovely to "see" you SS Thank you for being brave enough to post - do stick with us - praying this is a sticky PG this time xx

Thank you for that poem mjim - mean a lot and spoke to me a lot right now

Feeling wobbly You guys are great

Notquitegrownup · 23/08/2008 11:42

Good morning all. Feeling a little wobbly too, but better than t'other day, so thank you for your prayers. Offering each and everyone on this thread to our heavenly Father for an extra big hug today, from Him. May He hold you all in His arms, protect and bless you

Can I also plug something which dh has been involved with at work? It is free - an internet site to allow you to measure how much electricity and gas you are using each week. It's called www.iMeasure.org.uk and allows you to enter in your meter readings each week. It then tells you how much you have spent/saved that week, and allows you to compare how much you have used with other people in similar sized houses. The idea is to encourage people to care about how much they are using, and to get regular feedback if they are trying to cut down (like weight watchers for energy use!) And if you sign up this weekend and enter in six weeks worth of readings, you are eligible for the prize draw to win £250! Sadly, I can't enter, or influence the results of the prize draw!

God bless all.

CaptainDippy · 23/08/2008 11:45

Ooooh, sounds interesting, nqgu - will have a look-see and prayers for wobbly-ness - any particularly reason my lovely!!? Here for you. xx
