Mumsnet prayer thread for July

Since the last prayer update there have been three bereavements on this thread alone Onlyjoking's Steve, MartianBishop's husband (who had been presented with his MBE just days before his death) and Evenstar's husband who died very suddenly while away from home.
Our prayers are with them. Special prayers for OJ as she battles with difficult relations. Praying that she will be able to get everything done before she goes away on holiday to Lanzarote to scatter Steve's ashes in a place where they have been very happy.

Praying for CaptainCaveman and MyJobismum as they expect their babies. Praying that there may soon be a positive, acceptable offer on CC's house.

Health problems:- CaptainDippy with a persistent cough. Things are not easy for our Dippy at the moment, please, if you can, concentrate your prayers on her and her family for a wee while.

Podmog can be in a hard place from time to time. Things are looking up, but it's going to take time and patience.

Swaliswan will receive treatment for a longstanding problem, but no problems have been discovered after extensive blood tests.

I haven't heard how PandaG's mum is doing after her lung operation.

We also pray for Nicole, Mary's friend who was taken ill with meningitis while in Cyprus. Her life hung by a thread, but over the past few days she has held her own.
Continuing prayers for Mary's friend Marg who suffered three grievous bereavements in a very short time.

We pray for Suzy that she may be delivered from Trojan Horses. Lord what did we do before we had computers?

We pray for Amber, that she may find the right way to communicate .

We pray for Mary in her studies, giving thanks for recent successes. Also for Weegiemum and Weegiedad, who passed exams at the end of the academic year.

We pray for Notsofarnow and FAQ for wisdom in newly developing relationships.

Welcome to newbies bealcain (and her friend), justabout and PurpleLostPrincess. Hoping to hear more from Bottersnike whose dh40 posted to ask for prayers in a very sudden difficult illness, which fortunately resolved itself quickly.
We give thanks for all on the board who pray for us Notquitegrownup who 'flies by', Jentlydoesit (Podglet), Mufti, Roseylea and Astrophe

And we pray for all of us that we may be true servants of the one living God in the care we give to each other in prayer and practical help.

hospital rang this morning want dd to see consultant tomorrow - she only had MRI scan last Thurs. Does that mean they have something important to share with us. Can't imagine this would be routinely discussing results seems that they said itwould be 3/4 weeks. Going away tomorrow too can't believe we're now at end of school hols and possibly they will want to do something for this shoulder that has been in a sling since June. Typical.

Probably wont be able to tell you results of consultant appointment or GCSE results until we return on Tues. Have a good bankholiday all.

I'm going to a Christian Festival at Gorsley dm has been going for last 10 years we are joining her and group of friends for the w/e

Hi everyone, I have posted once or twice before although it was quite a while ago(blush).
Im now back at work and with 2 little ones haven't had much time for anything which has sadly included going to church. Cant really explain why but I have all of a sudden have had an overwhelming feeling to return to church, but im not quite sure which church is right for me. I was baptised earlier this year in a CofE church which was loverly but I never really felt like part of that church(sad)
Im so worried about not finding a church that I feel part of and I dont really know where to start.

Anyway the real reason I have posted is to ask you all to pray for a friend of mine, she had twins last week and one is very poorly and still in special care, she is also ill as she has an infection and needs a blood transfusion. I am especially worried for her as she suffers from depression, please pray for them to recover soon.

thanks all x

Good morning all

Prayers for Henry and for your friend and her family LL. Welcome back! Praying too that you will find a church to which you can feel you really belong.

Don't feel guilty about not going for a while. I expected to go straight back to church after having dcs, and it was a nightmare!! Now that I am coping better with them, it's lovely to have settled into a new church which suits us all (actually the one nearest to us, but the vicar has changed whilst I've been having babies!) Enjoy "shopping" for a church. You can visit different ones and see how they do things. You can also try out their mother and toddler groups. That can be a good way to get to know a church too. You can, of course, also ask God to show you which one He wants you to belong to! Let us know how you get on.

I could do with a little prayer today. I feel ridiculously tired - as if I have had about 2 hours sleep. I'm fuzzy headed, can't make decisions, just want to sleep. (But I've had plenty!) I could really, really do with getting my head back please!

God bless all.

Is it "the-end-of-the-summer-holidays" syndrome, NQGU? The weather here is very lovely at the moment, try and go out?

Prayers for Henry and for LL's friend and her twins.
What a shame you don't have a sense of belonging in the church in which you were baptised, have you been recently and is the feeling still the same?

Praise God with me that Bob's chest pains last night turned out to be insignificant and praise God for the wonderful ambulance crew who so cheerfully reassured us that we had done right calling them out.

Praying for finanaces mjim, always a horrid worry ; especially when you are dealing with a pregnancy too. God Bless you in amazing ways

Poor tired nqgu - sounds like you are on "end of summer holiday burn-out" to me!! Think DO's suggestion of getting out into the fresh air and blowing away some of the tiredness () might help. Give your boys a run around at the park / local woods. xx

I am still a mix of emotions. Very confusing and tiring.

ZipadiSuzy · 21/08/2008 12:05

One good thing both twins riding 2 wheeler bikes now, so proud of them only 4yo although starting school 3rd September, really getting nervous now, just been to fetch school shoes from Clarks and they didn't have any in black now I'll have to go back next week!

livvylouis · 22/08/2008 07:49

hi all,

thanks for your kind words and prayers, called my friends sister last night and she is on the mend.

The baby is still in special care, he did come out of the incubator for a while but they he is unable to regulate his temp at the moment so he's back in for a while. I will keep you all updated .

Dutch I haven't been to the church recently, maybe I should give it another chance before I dimiss it. The vicor and most of the people are very nice but I never really connected with anybody there. This may just be that everyone was so much older than me or just down to the fact that I can be quite shy around people I dont know.

DutchOma · 22/08/2008 08:58

LL, Let us know if and when you want to give that church another try and we can pray for you that you can connect to what church is all about: worshipping God. It is an awful shame when people get in the way of worship but it happens quite a bit. Not anybody's 'fault', you just need to be aware.
