Mumsnet prayer thread for July

Since the last prayer update there have been three bereavements on this thread alone Onlyjoking's Steve, MartianBishop's husband (who had been presented with his MBE just days before his death) and Evenstar's husband who died very suddenly while away from home.
Our prayers are with them. Special prayers for OJ as she battles with difficult relations. Praying that she will be able to get everything done before she goes away on holiday to Lanzarote to scatter Steve's ashes in a place where they have been very happy.

Praying for CaptainCaveman and MyJobismum as they expect their babies. Praying that there may soon be a positive, acceptable offer on CC's house.

Health problems:- CaptainDippy with a persistent cough. Things are not easy for our Dippy at the moment, please, if you can, concentrate your prayers on her and her family for a wee while.

Podmog can be in a hard place from time to time. Things are looking up, but it's going to take time and patience.

Swaliswan will receive treatment for a longstanding problem, but no problems have been discovered after extensive blood tests.

I haven't heard how PandaG's mum is doing after her lung operation.

We also pray for Nicole, Mary's friend who was taken ill with meningitis while in Cyprus. Her life hung by a thread, but over the past few days she has held her own.
Continuing prayers for Mary's friend Marg who suffered three grievous bereavements in a very short time.

We pray for Suzy that she may be delivered from Trojan Horses. Lord what did we do before we had computers?

We pray for Amber, that she may find the right way to communicate .

We pray for Mary in her studies, giving thanks for recent successes. Also for Weegiemum and Weegiedad, who passed exams at the end of the academic year.

We pray for Notsofarnow and FAQ for wisdom in newly developing relationships.

Welcome to newbies bealcain (and her friend), justabout and PurpleLostPrincess. Hoping to hear more from Bottersnike whose dh40 posted to ask for prayers in a very sudden difficult illness, which fortunately resolved itself quickly.
We give thanks for all on the board who pray for us Notquitegrownup who 'flies by', Jentlydoesit (Podglet), Mufti, Roseylea and Astrophe

And we pray for all of us that we may be true servants of the one living God in the care we give to each other in prayer and practical help.

Lovely gp is so nice to me. I was on the lowest dose of clomipramine as prescribed by the perinatal psychiatrist, and she had written to me & the gp to say it may well need increasing post natally. I will start increasing the dose this evening. Feeling much better this evening though so Praise God and thank you for your prayers .

DO dh is off this week and I have 2 friends on mat leave who offer unlimited unconditional company, so am very fortunate there.

I am passing a kidney stone today.

It hurts. I mean HURTS.

The alternative is going to hospital. I can't! Have had too many bad experiences.

Please pray it passes fast (but not too fast - fast is sore!)

Thanks

Praying Weegiemum. Poor you!

DutchOma · 13/08/2008 15:26

Prayers for you Weegiemum, hope it soon goes. What a horrid experience.

So glad you had a nice morning in town mjim.

Are you still on the sofa CC? You know you want to.

MaryBS · 13/08/2008 15:48

Prayers for you, WM. I remember when I had gallstones and how much that hurt - so I do sympathise {hugs}

NQGU - Nicole's family have stopped keeping the church informed as to how she is, so I guess she is slowly recovering, which I praise God for!

JentlyDoesIt · 13/08/2008 18:54

Hi all,

WM - prayers for a speedy (but not hurty speedy ) recovery.

MJIM - what a lovely morning you had sounds fab.

CC - hope the sofa was nice

Well, I have the worst case scenario and have to have the minor surgery to release the tendons in my wrist it's only day surgery so isn't too bad but I don't know how useful the hand will be during the recovery and I'm already worrying about lifting the DC's etc. The dr didn't want to try the cortisone injections as they didn't work when it flared up last year. However, once I have healed from the surgery, the problem should be gone. He has put me down as urgent so it should be done in the next few weeks - eeek!

CaptainDippy · 13/08/2008 21:40

Praying it passes soon my love. xx

Glad yu've got a surgery date, JDI - it is for the best and you wil be ok xx

Love & Prayers to all. xxxxx

MaryBS · 13/08/2008 21:43

Please pray for S, and her dad. S is the lady from church who'd agreed to have the children tomorrow. S's dad is not expected to live through the night, and she is travelling up to see him in Manchester. It wasn't expected, so all a bit of a shock. S's daughter has kindly agreed to take care of the children, despite everything, the children met her last week when they were round with S, so please pray that everything will be OK with the children too!

CaptainDippy · 14/08/2008 08:07

Am praying Mary - may the end be swift and peaceful for S's dad

Please pray for DH & I, things not good at all

MaryBS · 14/08/2008 08:16

Aw CD... sorry to hear that, after everything else you're going through as well! {hugs}. You're top of my prayer list now, I'll be like the woman in bible badgering the king until he grants her wish... you two belong together and it seems plain wrong that things aren't right between you!
