Mumsnet prayer thread for July

Since the last prayer update there have been three bereavements on this thread alone Onlyjoking's Steve, MartianBishop's husband (who had been presented with his MBE just days before his death) and Evenstar's husband who died very suddenly while away from home.
Our prayers are with them. Special prayers for OJ as she battles with difficult relations. Praying that she will be able to get everything done before she goes away on holiday to Lanzarote to scatter Steve's ashes in a place where they have been very happy.

Praying for CaptainCaveman and MyJobismum as they expect their babies. Praying that there may soon be a positive, acceptable offer on CC's house.

Health problems:- CaptainDippy with a persistent cough. Things are not easy for our Dippy at the moment, please, if you can, concentrate your prayers on her and her family for a wee while.

Podmog can be in a hard place from time to time. Things are looking up, but it's going to take time and patience.

Swaliswan will receive treatment for a longstanding problem, but no problems have been discovered after extensive blood tests.

I haven't heard how PandaG's mum is doing after her lung operation.

We also pray for Nicole, Mary's friend who was taken ill with meningitis while in Cyprus. Her life hung by a thread, but over the past few days she has held her own.
Continuing prayers for Mary's friend Marg who suffered three grievous bereavements in a very short time.

We pray for Suzy that she may be delivered from Trojan Horses. Lord what did we do before we had computers?

We pray for Amber, that she may find the right way to communicate .

We pray for Mary in her studies, giving thanks for recent successes. Also for Weegiemum and Weegiedad, who passed exams at the end of the academic year.

We pray for Notsofarnow and FAQ for wisdom in newly developing relationships.

Welcome to newbies bealcain (and her friend), justabout and PurpleLostPrincess. Hoping to hear more from Bottersnike whose dh40 posted to ask for prayers in a very sudden difficult illness, which fortunately resolved itself quickly.
We give thanks for all on the board who pray for us Notquitegrownup who 'flies by', Jentlydoesit (Podglet), Mufti, Roseylea and Astrophe

And we pray for all of us that we may be true servants of the one living God in the care we give to each other in prayer and practical help.

yes it was his first time - he wasn't keen at all actually - the first photos with me sat with him I had to put him back in his pushchair to start with as he howled, and then didn't want to walk on it at all (even with sandals on), 2nd time (with him on his own) he sat there for about 5 minutes on his own and then howled lol. DS1 was the same with his first few sand experiences - loves it now (thankfully)

He was even worse with the swimming pool - I only got wet as far as my knees as he got so hysterical when I tried to take him in I had to take him out - hence the large number of photos of my 3 DS's, Shelleylou and her DS (as I was stood at the side watching them lol)

had similasr problem with ds in pool on holiday, but it may also have been the noise/wave machine. he is a sensitive boy

CaptainCaveman · 10/08/2008 20:14

Many thanks for your prayers - ds2 has gained 4oz!! Praise God may it continue. Prayers much appreciated for my continued headaches to resolve too. Feeling a bit today - am sure it's all to do with being post-natal.

MaryBS · 10/08/2008 20:17

Mufti - I've got too much on atm, too many things to do/decisions to make, and its stressing me out!

CaptainDippy · 10/08/2008 20:40

notsofarnow · 10/08/2008 21:37

can you please pray for a couple at church their dd is seriously ill in her 30's i think currently going through iVF cycle but have discovered she is an alcoholic that together with the IVF drugs has done soemthing to her liver on wed/Thurs it was 50/50 When she comes home they are thinking she is going to have to go live with her parents as her dh wont be able to watch her look after her as he has to work, also she will need a special diet no salt, soemthing to do with protein. They are beside themselves with worry for her and for themselves with howthey are going to cope.

DutchOma · 10/08/2008 21:52

Fatboy 1 going home tomorrow as long as the tests come back with the right result. Thanks for your prayers!

amber32002 · 11/08/2008 07:14

Prayers for stress, for headaches, for those exhausted, and fed up, and with too many thoughts going round their heads, and unco-operative partners or relatives and friends. For those in pain, and those feeling ill.

What a day yesterday. Great church service (hooray!) and then I had offered to help at the rugby club cricket match and barbecue (in which they started with a small game of football - how confusing...) and we got absolutely soaked in the showers. And our 14 and 15 yr olds beat the adults in the cricket match . I was SO tired at the end of the day though - had to go to bed early.

MaryBS · 11/08/2008 16:51

Can I just offer up a "Thank you God!!!!!"? I had a near miss this afternoon, I came very close to my car being sandwiched between the car behind me and a parked lorry. There was a tremendous squeal of brakes behind, and a cloud of blue smoke from his breaking so hard, and he swerved and missed me. REALLY shook me up

MarsLady · 11/08/2008 17:26

Praise God for your safety Mary! Praise God!

amber32002 · 11/08/2008 17:26

Oh my goodness, Mary ! Thanks be that you're ok....

Weegiemum · 11/08/2008 18:55

Hello there Ladies!

Sorry have not been around. Was on holiday for 2 weeks and have not been very well for the last 3 (kidney probs again) so havent had a lot of time to be online.

Hope you are all well. I am, now!

DutchOma · 11/08/2008 19:49

Oh Mary, Praise the Lord. Have you stopped shaking yet?

CaptainDippy · 11/08/2008 19:54

Mary - praise God you weren't hurt. xxxx

Sounds exhausting amber, but glad you had a good time

Glad FatBoy might be home soon Mars

Praying for that poor woman NSFN Sounds like a desperate situation - praying for wisdom, clarity and direction.

Great to "see" you WM, but about kidney probs - praying they clear up soon, glad you are all ok, trust you had a lovely time away!!?

MaryBS · 12/08/2008 08:11

Yes, I was very lucky, I pulled over to get out the way of a police car coming the other way, trying to overtake a snail (caravan). That of course was the other option, to be hit by the police car . All OK though, thanks be to God!

Can I also thank God for another birthday?

Praying for you and your liver CD, for your tendonitis Rosey, for your kidneys WM, for your IVF lady NSFN, for all the babies, and all who have asked for our prayers.

We're off on holiday for 2 weeks, come this Friday evening

DutchOma · 12/08/2008 09:05

Well we are back after an interesting holiday. Mainly good, but I have raging PMT this morning and just want to curl up somewhere snuggly instead of doing that unpacking/washing. Where does it all come from?!!

Happy Birthday Mary!!!! Hope that you are able to celebrate in style this evening and that you have a lovely holiday too, when you get there.

Prayers for your young friend MJIM. How - but how brave of her to give her little one a chance of life. Praying that God's hand will be upon them in the coming weeks and months and that this might be a time of miracles for them.

Very belated congratulations CC and prayers for you today and that your GP will be sympathetic/helpful.

Prayers for all others who have requested them.

God bless all.

DutchOma · 12/08/2008 13:47

MJIM praying for the little one to survive and have a healthy happy life. Prayers for his/her mummy too that she will have peace in her heart over the decision she has made. God can work for good in the most desperate situations.
Praying that you will get some rest too and praying for CC that you will be able to rest peacefully, not easy of course with two little ones. What help have you got?
