Mumsnet prayer thread for July

Since the last prayer update there have been three bereavements on this thread alone Onlyjoking's Steve, MartianBishop's husband (who had been presented with his MBE just days before his death) and Evenstar's husband who died very suddenly while away from home.
Our prayers are with them. Special prayers for OJ as she battles with difficult relations. Praying that she will be able to get everything done before she goes away on holiday to Lanzarote to scatter Steve's ashes in a place where they have been very happy.

Praying for CaptainCaveman and MyJobismum as they expect their babies. Praying that there may soon be a positive, acceptable offer on CC's house.

Health problems:- CaptainDippy with a persistent cough. Things are not easy for our Dippy at the moment, please, if you can, concentrate your prayers on her and her family for a wee while.

Podmog can be in a hard place from time to time. Things are looking up, but it's going to take time and patience.

Swaliswan will receive treatment for a longstanding problem, but no problems have been discovered after extensive blood tests.

I haven't heard how PandaG's mum is doing after her lung operation.

We also pray for Nicole, Mary's friend who was taken ill with meningitis while in Cyprus. Her life hung by a thread, but over the past few days she has held her own.
Continuing prayers for Mary's friend Marg who suffered three grievous bereavements in a very short time.

We pray for Suzy that she may be delivered from Trojan Horses. Lord what did we do before we had computers?

We pray for Amber, that she may find the right way to communicate .

We pray for Mary in her studies, giving thanks for recent successes. Also for Weegiemum and Weegiedad, who passed exams at the end of the academic year.

We pray for Notsofarnow and FAQ for wisdom in newly developing relationships.

Welcome to newbies bealcain (and her friend), justabout and PurpleLostPrincess. Hoping to hear more from Bottersnike whose dh40 posted to ask for prayers in a very sudden difficult illness, which fortunately resolved itself quickly.
We give thanks for all on the board who pray for us Notquitegrownup who 'flies by', Jentlydoesit (Podglet), Mufti, Roseylea and Astrophe

And we pray for all of us that we may be true servants of the one living God in the care we give to each other in prayer and practical help.

All they ever think about with newborns is the blooming weight. Not how well he sleeps/yells/pees/poohs etc. Weighing babies should be outlawed since it causes much more harm than good. Praying for your peace of mind and enjoyment of your new darling son.

Thankyou for your support. I know ds2 doesn't need any top-ups or formula, and nor will I let the mw persuade me otherwise. He sleeps GREAT, is alert when he is awake, pees for England (normally all over me as soon as his nappy comes off ) and poos pretty much after each feed. I think his only thing is that he tends to fall asleep whilst feeding - so I take him off the boob and this wakes him up for more. See, problem solved . Prayers still much appreciated though.

I would also be very glad if you could pray that I remember my log-on ID for internet banking. Post pg brain means I've totally forgotten the number...hang on, it might've just come to me as I type!!!

JentlyDoesIt · 08/08/2008 14:45

CC - DD lost 11 1/2 oz (she went from 7lb 10 to 6 lb 14. She was just on the verge of the 10% limit they give you. However, I did exactly what you are doing, woke her up if she fell asleep during feeding. Keep being strong and you know as well as we do that top ups are not the way forward. I actually agree with DO too

DO - sorry to hear DD isn't well. Lots of ginger and sea sick bands for her.

CD - hope the anti b's kick in soon and you are back to good form asap!

Marsy - lots of prayers for all your bouncing babies.

Mary - holding your family in my thoughts. Also Misdee, Peter and family.

Had some bad news this week. The bungalow sale fell through. The buyers wanted to knock another £25,000 off after the survey had taken place, even though no work needed doing - so it's back on the market again prayers for a quick sale.

Roseylea · 08/08/2008 17:50

hello all!

I have been reading and praying and giving thanks for baby Oliver! How wonderful, CCM!

We are all okay here. Life feels very busy at the moment! I am going to be starting a work placement with a local church in Sept so I'm in the midst of getting to know the church and sorting out how many hours I'll do / what I will do. I am really enjoying the time with ds and dd atm, except that dd has decided she'd rather not go to school and would much rather that I homeschool her instead! (Not a good idea, for lots of reasons!)

So I need to go on a "school is great" charm offensive before the new term starts!

CaptainDippy · 08/08/2008 18:26

Prayers needed here - can't shake these feelings.

Mary - got your phone message just now - thank you so much for the call, we will speak soon ....promise xx

MaryBS · 09/08/2008 15:54

CD - I've had my gall bladder out, after getting gallstones, so can tell you first hand what its like . I think the constant tiredness and effort to get on with a normal life can make you feel low and down.

MarsLady · 09/08/2008 15:56

Fat boy 1 not doing so well again. Please pray. The family are all desperate to be home.

Twins doing well. Please pray that boy twin latches properly. He's feeding well via a cup but would be better if he could latch on the breast.

Other fat boy doing fine.

I have toothache and am knackered. Other than that all well.

CaptainDippy · 09/08/2008 17:28

LOL @ the Fat Boys Mars ; but seriuosly - praying Fat Boy1 will be home soon and that twin latches ok soon. Praying for your toothache and for your knackeredness too. xx

Thanks for the reassurance Mary

amber32002 · 09/08/2008 17:55

Prayers aplenty for everyone and CC, many many congrats !!!!!!!

Prayers of praise here. The new lady NSM at the church has written me a really lovely email saying that she really wants to try to support me in the church. I've never had a vicar-person do that before .

But tomorrow it's another NSM so we'll see what happens at church (eek!)

Hi all, just popping in to say hello.

I have hurt my knee somehow! I think it is tendonitis, very painful and very hot to the touch. It was v. bad all through yesterday so if it continues I might go to the doctors tomorrow. Has anyone ever had tendonitis?
