Mumsnet prayer thread for July

Since the last prayer update there have been three bereavements on this thread alone Onlyjoking's Steve, MartianBishop's husband (who had been presented with his MBE just days before his death) and Evenstar's husband who died very suddenly while away from home.
Our prayers are with them. Special prayers for OJ as she battles with difficult relations. Praying that she will be able to get everything done before she goes away on holiday to Lanzarote to scatter Steve's ashes in a place where they have been very happy.

Praying for CaptainCaveman and MyJobismum as they expect their babies. Praying that there may soon be a positive, acceptable offer on CC's house.

Health problems:- CaptainDippy with a persistent cough. Things are not easy for our Dippy at the moment, please, if you can, concentrate your prayers on her and her family for a wee while.

Podmog can be in a hard place from time to time. Things are looking up, but it's going to take time and patience.

Swaliswan will receive treatment for a longstanding problem, but no problems have been discovered after extensive blood tests.

I haven't heard how PandaG's mum is doing after her lung operation.

We also pray for Nicole, Mary's friend who was taken ill with meningitis while in Cyprus. Her life hung by a thread, but over the past few days she has held her own.
Continuing prayers for Mary's friend Marg who suffered three grievous bereavements in a very short time.

We pray for Suzy that she may be delivered from Trojan Horses. Lord what did we do before we had computers?

We pray for Amber, that she may find the right way to communicate .

We pray for Mary in her studies, giving thanks for recent successes. Also for Weegiemum and Weegiedad, who passed exams at the end of the academic year.

We pray for Notsofarnow and FAQ for wisdom in newly developing relationships.

Welcome to newbies bealcain (and her friend), justabout and PurpleLostPrincess. Hoping to hear more from Bottersnike whose dh40 posted to ask for prayers in a very sudden difficult illness, which fortunately resolved itself quickly.
We give thanks for all on the board who pray for us Notquitegrownup who 'flies by', Jentlydoesit (Podglet), Mufti, Roseylea and Astrophe

And we pray for all of us that we may be true servants of the one living God in the care we give to each other in prayer and practical help.

Sorry to hear about abnormal results in one way, but you would have been left high and dry if all had been normal.
Praying for your peace of mind between now and Thursday.

To top all her misery CvQ has now broken her wrist. She trod on the back of her slipper and fell awkwardly. Her mum is coming tomorrow, but that brings its own tensions. Pray for her that she has a peaceful night and not too much pain and that the contact with her mother does not rootle up too many awful memories.

Got lots of sleep thank you. B/G twins born in the early hours of this morning. Thanks for your prayers.

Please continue to pray for first fat boy who has an infection and isn't eating much.

I'm off to my bed! Many thanks.

Podmog, glad it never developed into anything, and praying that he'll be fit and healthy from now on {hugs}. What a worry for you though!

Still praying for you, CD

CaptainCaveman · 06/08/2008 10:42

Morning ladies - praying things are going well but not had time to read through thread properly.

Praise God all is good here. The usual post pg hormones making me cry about the littlest things - eg. ds saying to me "promise me mummy you will never forget that I am your son" . cue sobbing from me thinking "what have i done to his life!"

Ds2 is grand, getting the hang of feeding and general life. We are doing nothing other than going with the flow and getting to know each other. Ds1 is still calling ds2 Jerry , but it is very cute so I am not bothering to correct him.

Pics on profile of ds2!!

CD's internet is down again... she sends love and prayers to all. Her cold is better, cough still there, sickness improving a bit...

Please pray, I haven't got any childcare for 15th... I REALLY don't want MIL and FIL to do it...

JentlyDoesIt · 06/08/2008 15:32

Hi all,

CC - what wonderful pictures of your gorgeous new DS. You have 2 lovely handsome boys!

Mars - hurrah for all the new babies

CD - hoping you are feeling better soon. At least the bloods will give you an answer and hopefully an end to your poorly-ness.

Having a MN meet up here tomorrow about 7 MN mums and about 11 DC's (including mine) have cakes and biscuits on standby!

Continuing prayers for all.

MaryBS · 06/08/2008 15:55

PRAISE GOD! An answer to prayer! The youth team that the DC have been going to all holidays for a couple of hours a day, have organised a trip to a local animal centre for 15th, and its 10-4pm, which means I can go into work late and leave late, and not need childcare! That's just incredible! And its only costing £6 per child!

DutchOma · 06/08/2008 17:43

Praise the Lord indeed.

Please continue to pray for first fat boy. They're not sure what's up with him, it may be something and nothing. His mum, understandably, is distraught even though the signs are good. Thanks!

Your boys are so gorgeous CC

DutchOma · 07/08/2008 22:00

Good to know it isn't anything too upsetting CD. Hope you soon feel better.
My DD is not feeling very good at the moment, she came to visit yesterday with Z, but did not feel too good then and was sick a couple of times. Since coming home she has nt been able to hold anything much down as soon as she gets up

Update on fatboy 1. He's doing better and better. Now please pray that his mum regains her confidence and that the bfing goes well.

MaryBS... praying for your BIL

Also praying for the rest of you lovely ladies. You may not realise but you sustain me!

CaptainCaveman · 08/08/2008 09:45

Prayers all round.

I thought (and still think) that bf'ing was going well but mw weighed ds2 yesterday and said he has lost 10oz since birth. Given that he hasn't been weighed since birth, I suggested to dh that he may have actually lost more than that and is now putting weight on, as my milk came in on Monday. MW suggested we may need to add artificial feeds in if he continues to lose weight BUT I think this is way to premature - he's only a week old!! He feeds quickly but has PLENTY of wet and dirty nappies. Prayers much appreciated that ds2 will have gained some weight for his weigh-in tomorrow as this will ease my mind enormously.

CaptainDippy · 08/08/2008 10:14

You know best CC, trust your instincts

Poor DD, DO Praying she is better asap. xx
