Mumsnet prayer thread for July

Since the last prayer update there have been three bereavements on this thread alone Onlyjoking's Steve, MartianBishop's husband (who had been presented with his MBE just days before his death) and Evenstar's husband who died very suddenly while away from home.
Our prayers are with them. Special prayers for OJ as she battles with difficult relations. Praying that she will be able to get everything done before she goes away on holiday to Lanzarote to scatter Steve's ashes in a place where they have been very happy.

Praying for CaptainCaveman and MyJobismum as they expect their babies. Praying that there may soon be a positive, acceptable offer on CC's house.

Health problems:- CaptainDippy with a persistent cough. Things are not easy for our Dippy at the moment, please, if you can, concentrate your prayers on her and her family for a wee while.

Podmog can be in a hard place from time to time. Things are looking up, but it's going to take time and patience.

Swaliswan will receive treatment for a longstanding problem, but no problems have been discovered after extensive blood tests.

I haven't heard how PandaG's mum is doing after her lung operation.

We also pray for Nicole, Mary's friend who was taken ill with meningitis while in Cyprus. Her life hung by a thread, but over the past few days she has held her own.
Continuing prayers for Mary's friend Marg who suffered three grievous bereavements in a very short time.

We pray for Suzy that she may be delivered from Trojan Horses. Lord what did we do before we had computers?

We pray for Amber, that she may find the right way to communicate .

We pray for Mary in her studies, giving thanks for recent successes. Also for Weegiemum and Weegiedad, who passed exams at the end of the academic year.

We pray for Notsofarnow and FAQ for wisdom in newly developing relationships.

Welcome to newbies bealcain (and her friend), justabout and PurpleLostPrincess. Hoping to hear more from Bottersnike whose dh40 posted to ask for prayers in a very sudden difficult illness, which fortunately resolved itself quickly.
We give thanks for all on the board who pray for us Notquitegrownup who 'flies by', Jentlydoesit (Podglet), Mufti, Roseylea and Astrophe

And we pray for all of us that we may be true servants of the one living God in the care we give to each other in prayer and practical help.

Hello all

CC - Hurrah for baby Cavey being here and safe and sound A big hello to Oliver and lots of love to you all.

MJIM - cannot believe you are 31 weeks already

CD - prayers for blood results and for you to feel better soon. Lots of hugs.

Mary - prayers for your BIL

Amber - well done you! Praise indeed

DO - hello and cuddles to you from DD and DS

Marsy - prayers for orderly and safe deliveries

Hope all ok with everyone else. All fine here, happy pottering along, enjoying the garden

MarsLady · 02/08/2008 20:17

Okay... first baby born. A lovely fat boy! It was an emcs which happened before I got there but all well. The baby has a slightly raised temp so if you could just pray. Also pray that the feeding goes well. He has tongue tie and she won't be able to get it sorted before she's discharged as they don't believe in it!

Just need my other two mums to take turns and to be done before I escape for a quick holiday before returning to the fray!

You're right... I do come in in the certainty that you will pray and that God will answer

Thank you all!

Praise God for the miracle of creation . Gorgeous little fella is asleep in his plastic tub next to me. He has some heat rash but is ok. Such a cutie .

Prayers for feeding to continue going well. So far so good. He looks very much like his brother and I love him to bits .

THANK YOU GOD FOR OLIVER BENJAMIN

Yup, I'll be at church tomorrow .

I even sat in a cathedral service for a few minutes on Friday evening, as I had hubby with me for support and could just sit at the back away from everyone else and listen and quietly say any responses I recognised. It was so peaceful.

Prayers aplenty for you all this evening.

MaryBS · 03/08/2008 09:29

He sounds adorable CCM! Can't wait to see the pix!

Update on my BIL, he is conscious and comfortable. They have identified a 4cm "mass" on his brain, whether this is tumour or bleed they don't know as yet. As usual with hospitals, nothing much seems to happen over the weekend. He will have more scans on Monday.

Mars, praying for all those expectant ladies, and for your friend with breast cancer - it seems SO common at the moment

We went to Drayton Manor theme park yesterday and had a LOVELY time. This year they've opened Thomasland, and its FANTASTIC for any tank engine fans out there!

CaptainDippy · 03/08/2008 13:09

Afternoon ladies

to fat baby boy Mars Praying the rest go smoothly .....

MarsLady · 04/08/2008 07:55

Second baby boy born after long labour. Homebirth. Another fat one! Pray that mum recovers well. Had some blood loss and rather dizzy.

Just home. Twin mum called, waters have gone. I have no child care. Please pray it all sorts out and that she doesn't need me for a while so that I can get a few hours sleep.

Thanks!

CaptainDippy · 04/08/2008 08:20

Praying Mars - it's all go, go, go in your world isn't it!!!!? Praying it all runs smotthly that that all mummies and babies are ok

Feeling shaky and not so good right now

DutchOma · 04/08/2008 10:15

Have you had results from bloodtest yet Dippy? Hope you soon feel better. Praying for you.

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 04/08/2008 11:53

I have to call after 2pm today. If they results are clear, they receptionist can tell me there and then; if they are not, I need to make an appointment to see the doctor again. For tomorrow morning probably. All very complicated if you ask me! Kind of hoping they find something because then at least they've got something to go on, if that makes any sense!!!!!? How are you DO? How's DH? xx

DutchOma · 04/08/2008 11:59

I am fine, huffing and puffing after an hour in the garden. We are making a new border after the back wall was repaired. DH is still struggling somewhat, trying to do cycling and walking and swimming, but it is all such a struggle because he can't breathe freely. He had some contact with a physiotherapist, but she has not contacted him, so he probably needs to chase that up.
We are going to Holland for a holiday with dd and Zac, that is something to look forward to.
Hope you do get some results soon.

CaptainDippy · 04/08/2008 12:24

DutchOma · 04/08/2008 13:44

Not until 14th September, awful long time to wait.

CaptainDippy · 04/08/2008 17:23

Dr hadn't written notes on bloods Need to cal back tomorrow - grrr!

MaryBS · 04/08/2008 18:41

Aw CD! That's a pain!

DutchOma · 04/08/2008 19:42

Can I please put a prayer request on here for EenyBeeny who will have to find a new rental property. The landlady they have has made life very hard for them and although they can now move they have nowhere to move to. Please pray that all finances will be taken care of and that they will soon find somewhere suitable to rent where Eeny can be a childminder.
Thanks

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 04/08/2008 19:44

Will definitely pray for Eeny DO. xx

Thanks for your phone message earlier, Mary, hugely appreciated just sorry I wasn't in!

DutchOma · 04/08/2008 22:11

Eeny has already seen some effect of our prayer and has acknowledged same. There is still a lot to pray for in the situation, so don't give up holding her in loving care before the Lord.

Hope you soon get the results of the blood tests CD.

Has anybody heard anything from Bobsmum and/or Weegiemum?
