Lily Philips - can she be a 'true' Christian?

This article made me think about what it means to be Christian especially about the concepts of sin, judgment and redemption.

In my view Lily of course is a Christian being baptised but to not give up a lucrative adult film career possibly does cause angst amongst more traditional Christians.

We are taught not to judge 'Let those without sin cast the first stone' and to accept the universal unconditionally of forgiveness. (We pray every day about the forgiveness of sin) so it is difficult thologically to condemn others.

However does any fellow Christian need to remind Lily she makes money from a profession where many women with less choice are coerced and manipulated for thr gratification of men? Wr have moved away from a less judgmental Christianity but how do you view participation in Christian life with such a job?

Btw, I gave RedTagAlan an answer and I don't know why they are asking. I have discussed with them before and it seems a bit they may struggle with reading between the lines. So much can happen to Lily between now and when she dies. I don't operate in the manner of telling Christians who I don't that they will go to hell. I have written clearly what the Bible says on this and you can make it out clearly by simply reading between the lines.

What would 'Christian Nationalism' look like in the UK? Which denomination would it espouse? Catholicism? Orthodoxy? Any of one dozens of Protestant denominations? Plus we have 4 nations in the UK, how would that work? I don't even think it would be a good idea, honestly.

In the USA, a lot of Christian Nationalism seems to come from certain Protestant factions. That's not to say that Catholics can't be deeply conservative or nationalistic, but from my (admittedly limited) exposure, the Christian Nationalists mostly seem to be Protestants.

I don't know if the same is true of the UK. I don't really pay attention to nationalists of any stripe.

I think it's interesting when people mention female vicars as Pippa is a young vicar trying to appeal to gen , nights out with mates, concert going etc. Christians are fun!

However you see how Christianity reveals its restrictions when it comes to dating a reverend pippa is surprised that on dating apps she is ghosted? Surely the guys on dating apps would know they weren't getting a notch on their bedpost after the first date with a vicar! Maybe there are restri ruins for young female vicars when it comes to modern dating expectations that reduces thr numbers of partners in 2026.

I think one motivation for starting the thread was maybe to explore the position that in 2026 sexual sin means something else than in 1926 and a modern church needs to approach the facts about modern society if it is to continue to gain followers i believe this is probably done by ignoring the topic which most at least C of E clergy do in my experience especially the younger generation. Infidelity is regarded quite rightly as morally wrong as someone gets hurt but is the rest of it any of the churches business?
