So my lovely friend's son is currently in an emergency operation to save his life. He has not been well for a long time and he never complains and tries to be the most positive person he can be even though he is in pain. There is a massive history of 30 years of illness.His Mum is the kindest most giving person I have ever met and the whole family are lovely.
She has great faith and I have everyone I know praying for a positive outcome for him but if I could get hundreds of vipers behind him then I do believe the power of prayer could carry him through.
If you haven't prayed in a while even better - God rejoices when a lost sheep returns.
YABU: It will make no difference
YANBU: I will try for you as I believe/what harm can it do.

Oh my lovely lovely people on here - all of you - of many different denominations and none.
I hate to type this and hate even more that it seems that in the last 36 hours things have taken a very bad turn.
He had some much better days and then one organ system after another started to struggle and fail. It seems hopeless on every front unless there is a miracle.

This is so true and he fought this bravely.
I keep thinking God is good and I really hope he can recover and live the pain free life he so deserves and that his mother does have to not face the loss of her son but we are very afraid tonight.

I have DH here with me and he is nearly as upset as I am.
I don't want to tell the DC at the moment of the negative turn as DD2 is away at Uni and would be on her own dealing with it and DD1 is a doctor and started her night shift in the last hour. I am waiting for good news to update them with though I think DD1 has felt worried about the long term prognosis for a while.
It helps so much to have you praying for him and I think, selfishly, typing it all out helps me process it too.

I am very late to the table, but just wanted to let you know that I am praying. He is a God of miracles. May he perform one now 🙏🏼.

So a sad update - the doctors have said that he is losing his battle and the family are taking turns to sit with him in pairs until he passes.
May I ask that you pray the end is pain free and easy for him and that God holds his mum, wife and brother close as they lose him.
He knows he is dying and is calm about it his Mum says.
I have let my girls know and I think they, more than me, saw this coming.

So sorry to hear this (just got back home). Sending thoughts of peace to your friend's brave and wonderful son, and thoughts of strength to your friend, all his family and you - I hope your strong faith is a comfort at this tragic time.

The night shift is taking over now at the hospital and my friend heading home for a sleep. I am glad she is getting some rest as DD1 says even when 'they" as in doctors say it will be in the next few hours/a day then sometimes it does take longer and sometimes a lot longer.
I feel like a cat on a hot tin roof waiting for an update - BeReal went off earlier and DH and I jumped sky high.
If there is no hope, and I think there is not now, I want it to be over for him because I have no doubt that he will be pain free and welcomed in heaven as he has cheerful bourne things that any average Joe would struggle with for a week - never mind a few decades.
An amazing family that welcomed DH and I in more than 30 years ago and that we, and later the DC, have been privileged to be a part of since then.
Thank you for reading my ramblings and also more than anything else praying for those most affected - his wife, his mum and his brother.
