Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

@hilariousnamehere

Luna I hope tomorrow is better.

sweetkitty I'm sorry, that sounds really stressful. I hope we can hold space for you here to retreat to and replenish.

Springtime I think it's a very personal thing, how you define and identify witchery. What does it mean to you?

Thank you 😊

I agree it's very personal. I read the thread title...any witches here and my response was to that very simple question.

In touch with nature and the natural world, an affinity with animals. Senses working overtime. Lots of feelings that then happen.
I have feelings about people and have been called insightful since usually right...can pick out the evil intent quickly...jealousy, negatively spring from some and I feel it strong
However, contrary at times. Can be blunt and assume similar people understand when they don't. Find it very interesting

SpringtimeBluebells · 18/02/2021 13:24

Thank you @LunaHeather

Me too, cannot wait for the bluebells

LunaHeather · 18/02/2021 13:24

Springtime that's kind of similar to me but I am trying not to overthink things, especially on the people front.

The main thing for me is this is a wonderful supportive thread, though as I say,
I came to it from a pagan perspective rather than a witch one.

Whatever "pagan" or "witch" mean.

Hi everyone, not been here for a while as been busy, I'm setting up my own online Tarot and youtube channel. Waaay!
I don't plan on being an influencer or anything grand, but would love to make a bit of money, eventually.

iirc there's somebody on here who stocks/ sells everything witchcrsfty? Unless I'm imagining it again.
If there is can you say yeh!

I'm not very tech savvy so spending more time on sorting this than the business side, but Rome apparentely wasn't made in a day.

Hopefully I can contribute more to the thread in future
and stop coming and going, argh!

speakout · 18/02/2021 15:56

Devlesko that sounds a very exciting project. I would love to see your channel when you have posted content.
I know many of us use and love Tarot on this thread, at least one other professional reader here.

Just been shopping for lots of healthy food today, hoping that will help pick up my energy.
So tacos for tea, just made a pot of pico de gallo, and prepping things. Lots of fresh lime juice and coriander, hot fresh chillies..
Easy to make, but packs flavour.

I would also like to see both your channel when it's live and whoever sells witchy things Grin

I am at the dentist for repair of a broken tooth and hoping it isn't going to be too hideous or painful. I guess what they do is magical in its own way but I don't like it 😂

speakout · 18/02/2021 16:12

Maybe me that sells witchy things?
hilariousnamehere hope the dentist that goes smoothly.

You may be in there already but I asked for enough anasthetic that I couldn't feel my face.

Lo and behold, I looked in the mirror afterwards and was surprised to see my face was still there 😂

Still very early days, but coming together well, I hope to include some gypsiology and other stuff too.

That sounds absolutely lovely. I can't remember the last time I added chilli to anything. My dh has hydredenitus surpritiva (don't ask) and he can manage it better on a restricted diet.
So unless I cook for me and dd, like I do sometimes, our food is quite uninspiring.
I made curry tonight with my own recipe, with coconut cream as he can have this.

Good evening all

I called in for tea and to catch up on all the wonderful posts. I love to hear of others creativity and often wish I were more creative myself.

I had a busy weekend making preserves - it’s only in more recent years that I have come to recognise that cooking too can be an art - and to value the magic in the kitchen! 😊

Hi

I’m sorry to butt in but I’m looking for something that has no logical solution. A bunch of trees are being cut down soon and I can’t stop it, I am dreading it as they are beautiful mature trees. Is it madness to care so much?

I keep apologising to the trees as I’m not able to save them. Is there anything more to be done to allow myself to accept the situation? I plan to plant trees in my garden but I find it so hard that trees are little more than a nuisance.

speakout · 19/02/2021 06:47

PeasNotBeans

There may be ways to help. Do you know who will be cutting donw the trees? Do they have auhority to do so?
Contact your local planning department at the council, find out if any conservation or tree protection orders are in place.
This may be a useful website.

www.trees.org.uk/Help-Advice/Public/A-brief-guide-to-legislation-for-trees#:~:text=All%20types%20of%20tree%2C%20but,by%20a%20Tree%20Preservation%20Order.

Look of facebook and raise your oncerns on any community /local resident /local history/guerrills gardening/local environmental groups.
It may help to get others on board even if it is just information gathering at this stage.
You may be able to get at least a stay of execution at this stage, until you find out the situation.

Thank you. It’s on private land. I’ll look into it.

Aerwyna · 19/02/2021 09:46

Morning friends,

Devlesko your YouTube ventures sound very exciting, I’d love to see it when you’re ready too.

Lovely to hear of everyone’s kitchen witchery, I enjoy stirring magic into food too, considering the correspondences and properties of ingredients, the alchemy of it coming together.

No one here will think that’s madness PeasNotBeans, many of us feel the same. I see speakout’s given you some sound advice for practical action. If you’re magically inclined, maybe look up working with genius loci too.

Following on from speakout’s Fae Friday theme last week, and for those who enjoy dance (I love to watch- I’m no dancer!) I enjoyed this

GeeIneverthoughtofthat

I can smell that sweet fragrance from here. I agree with Aerwyna kitchen tasks are magical acts. But pretty much everything in my life is imbued with magic, from laundry and cleaning the bath to a friend exchange with staff at a supermarket.
That dance video is enchanting, but feels so bitter sweet.
All these beautiful dancers having their wings clipped, but still making the most of this situation, it is beautiful.

Having haggis neeps and tatties tonight for tea, meat versions for those that like them, vegetarian haggis as an option for others. We have some lovely local suppliers that make haggis to suit everyone.

LunaHeather · 19/02/2021 12:35

It is interesting how people find beauty in things others find awful.

But mum feels like that every time I look at a fox in her garden and say "oh hello" which comes out of my mouth as naturally as if I'd just seen a friend, which I feel I have.

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 19/02/2021 13:48

Yes my house was filled with the beautiful smell of oranges speakout and now my store cupboard is full of jars.

I love the way you speak of magic being imbued into every day life like laundry and cleaning. I find those tasks offer time to think, which I appreciate, but equally folding clean laundry fresh from the line is so satisfying!

Like Aerwyna - lovely to meet you here - nowadays I see kitchen witchery as magical, adding together all the various ingredients to produce such satisfying results.

However for many years though I did not recognise it as such. I just thought that I had a “knack” for cooking, and although I enjoyed it, it was essentially just a “chore” or even, dare I say it, seen by others as “women’s work”. Strange how so often we are “relegated” to such tasks !

It has only been latterly that I have some to appreciate the value and practice in such work and to see that the “knack” is in fact a gift. I enjoy the mixing and blending which leads to the creation of something nourishing and satisfying. And there is nothing to beat that boiling cauldron jam pan!

Spiritwriter · 19/02/2021 13:55

Kitchen and hearth witchery is wonderful.
Wondering what paths you all follow. Sounds like lots of kitchen magic.
Does anyone hedge witch?
I know our paths are our own, and as individual as we are.
But... As the witch I am, I love to discuss and study. And I am looking at concentrating my attentions a little more than they have been.
X

LunaHeather · 19/02/2021 13:59

I am not sure what hedge witch means. I am interested in the properties of plants.

Spiritwriter · 19/02/2021 14:11

@LunaHeather it is largely working with spirits as well as plant knowledge. Travelling between worlds.

Hello, does anyone mind if I join in?

I came here looking for the tarot thread, because I was reading the "My daughter bought tarot cards - HORROR!" thread - not sure if this is it, but I recognise some posters' names from the other thread. I have a couple of decks, and some books, but so far haven't managed to learn much. I suspect I'm taking too much of an "academic" learning approach - reading the book and trying to memorise stuff! Would anyone be able to point me to a better method?

I have just read the last couple of pages of this thread, and was interested in the idea of imbuing household tasks with magic. I struggle with housework, and am trying to shift my mindset. I don't like or dislike driving, it's purely a task that has to be done. I'm trying to apply this attitude to cleaning, but with limited success, so this interests me.

I've always been drawn to Wicca and paganism but never really had anyone in my life to explore it with.

Hi Sonmi

I had a friend do a tarot course at Treadwells in London, she loved it. I guess there must be similar online?

I was just drawn to this lovely place, though to me chores are just chores so I am not sure how helpful I can be. I have always found reassurance in nature and if I hear someone is a witch, to me that is Good Thing. I very much associate it with being single and childfree, I think I might be the only one on this thread who is though. I don't think of myself as a witch. That might change in future.

I am making a deliberate choice not to overthink or be academic about this, or anything else.

I was genuinely surprised by the horrified poster on the tarot thread. But there are obviously lots of schools of thought of which I am happily unaware.
