@DefinitelyOdd welcome! Your nanny sounds like a wonderful woman.

Thanks for all the comments about the Misty surfer photo - it was a lucky snap really as my vision wasn’t great in the fog. I’m glad I captured it though. Photography is a kind of magic to me. Especially the way you can capture the same events so extraordinarily differently.

And thank you for all weighing in on the word witch and what it means to you. I absolutely loved reading all your opinions, fascinating. I learnt a lot too. Id like to delve properly into the history at some point, but I know myself well enough to know now is not the right time (I'm emotionally drained and cannot take on more trauma).

Any witchy plans for the Easter bank holiday?

I’m continuing with my sea dips. I feel like I’m being called to do it, and it’s healing something deep within. I can’t explain it better than that I’m afraid, but I’m learning to respect and trust my gut / intuition more and more. Yesterday I put my head under and it was divine. When I got out the sun was blazing and I dried off sprawled on a sunshine warmed rock like some sort of sun worshipping lizard. It was magnificent!

I’m also called to tidy up my bedroom and set up a little altar to keep me focused. A little visual reminder every morning.

Magic wishes dear ones x

VioletCharlotte · 02/04/2021 20:47

Moregarlic your sea dips sound wonderful. I swam in the sea in October when I was away, I was amazed by how much I loved it. It's a difficult sensation to describe, my skin felt almost hot it was so tingly, it made me feel so alive! I'm really tempted to get up early Sunday morning and drive to the coast, I'm not really sure how far we're supposed to travel, I keep reading conflicting advice!

I've been for a lovely walk with friends today. It felt like a perfect spring day, the sun was out but not too warm. It's so uplifting to see the earth come back to life after the long winter and see flowers everywhere and we were lucky enough to see some ducklings too. The fresh air and exercise was just what I needed after a long week sat in front of a computer!

Definitelyodd welcome SmileYour nanny sounds like a wonderful lady. Funny, I've been thinking about my Nan today. She wasn't into crystals or tarot, but she was a real nature lover and had a great knowledge of plants and wildlife, I learned a lot from her.

Speakout lovely to hear about the woodpeckers on your walk. I agree there seem to be more this year. I've seen a few which is quite unusual where I live.

speakout · 03/04/2021 08:42

A perfect spring morning here- bright blue sky and sunshine.
Some frost still lingering in the shadows, but the sun will be warm enough to melt it all soon.
Perfect day for some laundry magic!!

OP posts:
Aerwyna · 03/04/2021 09:05

Bright and crisp here too, we had wild winds in the night which felt wonderfully cleansing to me. My word for the day is ‘free’ which feels good.

I’m loving hearing about everyone’s connections with the elements and animals, what a joy to see woodpeckers. Such wonderful creatures with powerful spirits.

And a huge yes to the healing power of wild water! It really does seem to provoke some kind of reset I think, definitely brings a glow of wellbeing energy. It warms my heart to hear of these experiences, thank you for sharing them here.

A welcome from me too DefinitelyOdd, I’m glad you found us and are enjoying the threads. Lovely to hear of you learning your craft as a child.

I hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend and finding time to honour your divine spirits

speakout · 03/04/2021 11:10

It feels a "free" day to me too Aerwyna.
I woke this morning and decided to lay down my burdens- at least for the day.
Sometimes it seems to make no real difference whether I carry them or not.
Takes me back to that three of swords energy in fact!! My laundry is drying in the cool spring breeze and I am enjoying a nutritionally unsoud snack of coffee and custard creams.
Some things just have to be done!!

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 03/04/2021 11:15

Coffee and custard creams sound perfect Speakout! I'm joining you with an equally calorific pecan and maple pastry and coffee. I love the idea of laying down burdens, being able to consciously put them down for a while is powerful stuff.

It's cloudy here today and much cooler then yesterday. I'm planning on pottering indoors this morning. I may go to a garden centre, I bought a couple of macrame plant hangers so want to get some plants to go in them (and work out how to hang them up!)

Love to you all ❤️

DefinitelyOdd · 03/04/2021 17:10

Its been a grey, blustery day here. I took DD to a park but she quickly lost interest in the play equipment and seemed to prefer standing in the middle of the football pitch with the wind blowing in her face.

Now I'm just pottering in the house and garden. I'm recovering from tonsillitis and not feeling able to take time off work due to staff shortages. So I'm slowly chipping away at the accumulated mess that happens when I'm out of action for a while.

Hope everyone has a good Saturday

speakout · 03/04/2021 19:07

DefinitelyOdd

Your daughter sounds wise and sensitive. Listening to the whispers on the wind. Feeling the breeze on her face. A wonderful child.
Tonsilitis is horrible- you have my sympathies. I hope you are feeling better soon. Glad to hear you are pacing yourself.

I am having a relaxing evening after a tense week. So good to sit with all the windows and doors open and feel the cool evening air melt away tensions.
I have a candle burning to support and send love to all.

OP posts:
Aerwyna · 03/04/2021 22:00

DefinitelyOdd, reading about your daughter’s beautiful wild spirit and love of the wind on her face really made me smile. As speakout says, a wise and sensitive child. I hope you can take the time you need for yourself to recover. I understand that feeling of not being able to take time off and the pressure it can create. I hope you can go easy on yourself as much as possible.

speakout and Violet lovely to hear of your peaceful moments with delicious treats. I also love the idea of consciously putting down burdens.

speakout your words “ Sometimes it seems to make no real difference whether I carry them or not.” really struck a cord with me. Very wise insight I think.

I stopped to take in a bit of river energy today, always hits the spot! Like many of us with favourite places we frequently visit, it’s such a pleasure to note the changes with the weather and seasons. Constant yet ever changing, much like our own spirits- Such comfort in the turn of the wheel. It really helps me stay grounded as circumstances change.

I’m very much enjoying watching songbirds at the moment, blackcaps, a wren, and of course the glorious blackbird. They do feel like messengers of spirit, such medicine for us if we can take the time to listen.

Wishing everyone a peaceful night

speakout · 04/04/2021 14:43

A briskly windy day here, but sunny and mild the air is full of energy, i love watching laundry jigging on the line, like a big pyjama party, the clothes loook like people, arms flailing, trousers doing high kicks.
I know they will be sparking and tingling with fresh spring air when I bring them inside.
Aerwyna I understand exactly what you mean about birds being "messengers of spirit" their voices sound so profound.

I am having a few hours of pampering today, I found a Boots gift card I had been given for christmas and had forgotten about, so just been to but some face and haor products, a foot mask.
Sending soothing energy to all who need it.

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 05/04/2021 09:51

After another warm, sunny day yesterday, the temperatures dropped today (although not to the Arctic levels forecasted, thankfully!) I'm making the most of a lie in and a coffee in bed.

Speakout like you, I love to see washing blowing on the line. I was looking at neighbours gardens yesterday and notices that hardly anyone else seems to hang there's out. I guess they just have dryers. I love the smell of line dried washing.

Aerwyna I'm glad you made it to the river. I think we all have a special place we like to go that soothes the soul. I love your description of songbirds as messengers from spirit. We have a lot of red kites where I live, they're fabulous to watch.

I enjoyed a walk in the woods with DS1 and his girlfriend yesterday. It was nice to see so many people out and about enjoying the sunshine. Part of the walk includes a large pond with many ducks and a family of swans. The female swan is nesting at the moment so I'm really looking forward to seeing the cygnets. It's always nice to watch them grow from fluffy chicks into full grown adults.

HillsBesideTheSea · 05/04/2021 12:22

I love lined dried laundry, I just have to be mindful of muck spreading times, laundry don't smell so line fresh if I hang it out during that time. Grin Makes me smile though because it is the prepping of the land for the season. Also this time of the year there are always cute lambs springing about the countryside. They are so springy and bouncy and adorably ridiculous in their antics.

I have a narrow focus on what has to get done, and my planned day off from it yesterday didn't happen. I am not mad, I am grateful as there are deadlines heading quickly towards me at the end of the week, and any time that I can find now buys me more time later.

I found Thorne Moony recently and have been binge listening to her videos. She has some interesting views that are typically measured in their delivery and whilst her views and approaches are very much not mine, they do make me ask questions and think on things which I appreciate.

I hope that you are all able to have pleasant Bank Holidays/Mondays, and find ways to enjoy nature and her energy throughout the day.

Aerwyna · 05/04/2021 13:00

Another lover of line dried magic here! So good to hear of the ways in which everyone is taking care of themselves. Always time well spent and an important message of self worth to our inner selves.

Thank you for the recommendation Hills, I hadn’t heard of Thorn Moony. I’ll look forward to checking her channel out.

Some lovely painted eggs in this video but then I tend to enjoy most things I see from Gather Victoria.

Wishing everyone a magical day

speakout · 05/04/2021 15:52

Thanks hills for the suggestion of Thorne Mooney, I'm always looking for new witchy stuff to watch while I work.
Aerwyna that is a great link to the eggs- I knew rolling and decorating eggs were ancient pagan activities- as a child it always odd to have them sit alongside stories of the crucifixion, and I knew eggs or bunnies have no mention in the bible.
Easter was a little heavy, a solid wall of Baptist services online all day, so grateful to have my ear buds to drown out the noise and listen to something more uplifting.
A super cold day here, a biting North wind, and a flurry of snow this morning. But the wind has been dry, my laundry has been given a pummeling on the line.
Lots of little birds in my garden right now, my cherry tree has been turned into a feeding station, it is interesting to see which birds prefer different foods, and they still need the calories to nest before the insects arrive.

Apologies for my absence, it’s been a wild week. We have two family members staying with us at the moment (who would otherwise be homeless) and the police thought it appropriate to turn up and demand to know why we’re breaking covid regulations. I really do worry about the state of our country and the frightening roads we’re heading down with all this. I made the mistake of watching the news last night and the phrase covid passports sent chills down my spine.

I’m trying my very best to stay grounded amidst it all, but I thought it best to stay away a few days. Returning to read of your escapades is lovely and soothing - you've made me want to do some laundry (an incredible feat)!

@speakout I know nothing of birds, but I hear them everywhere at the moment and what a glorious noise! DD is obsessed, she especially favours seagulls. I think she likes the big, brash squawks.

@VioletCharlotte your walk in the sun sounds very cup filling. I agree it’s lovely to see more people out enjoying nature.

@Aerwyna your river experience sounds equally delightful. I agree returning to the same spots is a wonderful way to mark and note the changing of seasons.

How alarming to have the police turn up, trying to do a good thing and being questioned over it.
I too get shivers when I hear of vaccine passports, it all seems so surreal.
I really limit my intake of news, a quick scan once a day, then I move onto other things.
Feeling a little ruffled today for some reason, but I was watching my bird feeding station for ages, those little creatures are so calming for the soul. I have a pair of robins ( they only date during the breeding season I have found out- otherwise solitary birds. I have great tits, blue tits, chaffinches.
Lots of wood pigeons, magpies crows, blackbirds, starlings and seagulls.
I am making a point of feeding the little birds in preference, this year. I know some of the raptors and gulls will eat eggs and young from smaller birds nests, and as much as I love all birds, it seems fair to give the smaller birds a fighting chance!!
It has been snowing for a couple of hours today, still bitterly cold.

Off to find some magic!

HillsBesideTheSea · 06/04/2021 19:50

It has been a very odd day here. I have not entirely felt grounded. Which made sense when the migraine kicked in.

I am back to getting static charges off everything again. Which suggests something has got out of kilter. Which could possibly could be as simple as me needing to do some self care and grounding work, but might also be a nudge that book and theory learning is all good and well but practical practise is also needed. I will ponder on that another day. For tonight, it is an early night that is required. And hot water bottles. As much as I love snow, I am finally ready for spring and warmer weather (although if 6ft of proper snow fell overnight I would not be mad)

May you find pockets of time you can dedicate to self care and focusing on your well being.

speakout · 06/04/2021 20:02

*HillsBesideTheSea

I have felt exactly the same today!!

I am often prone to static shocks, but the last two days have been crazy- literally a shock whenever I touch any appliance, metal door handle, taps. Literally 50 shocks today, I am bracing myself when I touch a metal object. I have never had a day of static like this.
I have just had a soak in a salt bath, and off to do some barefoot walking in the garden to earth myself.

I hope everyone is feeling calm and relaxed today.
It's an easy day in the heavens today, Jupiter and the moon are well aspected making for good comminucations with others, and giving ourselves a gentle creative energy.
My goddess bath and barefoot grounding did the trick last night, I have slept a deep nine hours.
Some candle making this morning, I may be mindful to nip out to the garden barefoot a few times during the day to ground myself.
Sending love with my 8am candle

Glad to hear you are feeling better this morning Speakout

I woke up feeling like i was hit by a bus. It is a hit the ground running kinda day. Going to be honest as much as I have been looking forwards to this day, i am not feeling it right now. Too many vivid dreams the last few nights. All on the same theme.

I think tonight will require a candle.

speakout · 07/04/2021 08:00

Do you have a big day ahead HillsBesideTheSea ?

I hope all goes smoothly.

First day back in the office office. i am already aware of some teething problems. (checked email first thing) Nothing major just communication hiccups.

HillsBesideTheSea · 07/04/2021 08:10

And nothing that won't be fixed with a email or 6, that should have been a meeting except we need that paper trail.

mn is doing odd things atm and i can't figure out if it is a my end issue or an mn end issue. very lagging and half the time the post button doesn't work

speakout · 07/04/2021 08:29

Sending easy communication energy to you for this first day back.

MN is laggy for me too, I have posted a few messages twice.

Definite lagging going on here too!

All the best for your first day back from me too Hills, I hope you find a comfortable flow.

moregarlic lovely to see you. I’m
sorry to hear it’s been a tough week but good to hear of your grounding focus. I hope things soon feel calmer

Good to hear of your deep sleep speakout, earthing is a powerful practice isn’t it, a timely reminder for me too. Thank you for the 8am energy, very gratefully received here, also for sharing that lovely easy astrological vibe- just the thing!

I slept deeply too. Yesterday brought a blast of familiar anxiety energy, but I’ve been enjoying the healing energy I’ve been cultivating of late so I made a conscious decision to sit in that energy instead. Nothing’s changed circumstantially but I feel calmer again so that is change enough for now.

A day of admin tasks here today, not my forte so I’ve been finding flow with copious cups of tea, incense and calming background sounds.
