Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

BlankTimes lovely to read your post. You always have deep earthing influence, which is a gift to us all.
I agree about your advice to PieceOfMaria. Most likely kids larking around with candles or wax. It is always wise to assume the common place explanation first.
Any serious magical practitioner wouldn't lurk around doorsteps dripping wax around. It's nothing to be taken seriously.

Hi all, feeling a bit wobbly this evening but hoping a good night’s sleep will work its magic. I will need all the emotional, mental and physical energy as I can get tomorrow - need to do a couple of funeral-related things plus entertain/“homeschool” my two children...

littleninja · 23/03/2020 08:09

Here is my daily thought of gratitude.

I am thankful and blessed to have freedom

I'm not sure how much longer it will last, but this morning I was free to get up and go for a run in the early morning sunshine. I ran to the beach and the sun was a big beautiful orange circle in the sky. I could feel it's warmth forcing it's way through as it pushed it's way higher. A wonderful experience which has started me off on a positive note today 🙏🏻

Sending warm rays to you all today as we embark on a very strange start to the week.

Good morning friends, so good to come here and find so many insightful, uplifting contributions. Thank you everyone for making our witches kitchen so full of magic at this time. The perfect solace for us all.

Beautiful day again here and I’m sitting in the work space I’ve carved out for myself, patio doors open, soothing candle lit. I can hear the song of a blackbird and less traffic noise than usual. I continue, like many of us, to take comfort from the tenacity of nature, the turn of the wheel regardless of what’s going on with us humans. The lesson of the hanged man is so pertinent for us all right now.

It’s wonderful to hear of everyone going about their ‘new normal’, finding positivity in it all. It really does lift us all.

Love to those struggling and in need of comfort and huge gratitude to everyone for maintaining and strengthening the energy of our space. There’s powerful energy here 💫

speakout · 23/03/2020 10:04

Sending my love too- again a stunningly beautiful day here.

I had an online yoga class this morning, and just settling down to work with a coffee, candle and uplifting music.

Joining in to share love and healing. It's a beautiful day here too, I started the day with an early morning dog walk. Like* you, littleninja*, I'm enjoying this freedom while we still have it ( in a responsible way of course).

My work station is set up by the window, it's calming to listen to the birds singing and watch the washing blowing in the breeze.

I've been observing people over the weekend, I fear that some may struggle to adapt to the 'new normal'. I understand it must be difficult for highly sociable people to adapt to social distancing. Those who are happy in their own company will fare better.

I don't know if this is of interest, but a retreat centre I go to regularly has put a programme online of meditation and yoga practice. It's going to be a lifesaver for me!

YashmisCrone · 23/03/2020 23:12

That looks interesting RosesandIris, thank you for sharing it. There’s so much we can tap into right now isn’t there, such a rapid growth in creativity and adaptability.

I’ve had a successful day of work and have needed to learn new skills very quickly. Busy rest of the week ahead. I’m glad I spent the time preparing my space, feels like gifting myself as well as honouring my clients.

As many of us sleep we’ll enter the full moon in Aries, lots of relevant energy for us to work with. I’m going to put my water bottle out to absorb it for drinking tomorrow.

I see there’s lots of interesting commentary around about how current astrological alignments link to the unfolding global situation. Sleep well sisters, we have seeds to plant that will come to fruition when all this is over 🌱

  • New Moon in Aries!
speakout · 24/03/2020 06:33

Good morning sisters- another one who is welcoming the new moon today.
YashmisCrone yes - recent astrological movements have been in close harmony with our earth bound happenings. I am glad you feel prepared at work.

I am focussing on calm today- although my family are not feeling too much anxiety I want to make sure I am spreading positive energy.
I am glad I popped into my local garden centre yesterday and filled the car with lots of potting compost and seeds. I had a feeing that if I didn’t do that yesterday I would miss my chance.
OH is working today but not until later, unfortunately he has to go into the office.
My business is slowing, but I will appreciate having some more free time to engage with my family at home, to continue clearing and do jobs I never get around to.
And I will be visiting our magical kitchen frequently to share a brew and join in the nurturing chat.

OP posts:
YashmisCrone · 24/03/2020 09:10

Good planning speakout! I bought some compost last week too, will have be creative re seeds- some from last year still in packets, some from veg I have here etc.

Patio doors open and have just started work for the day. All is comfortingly still in the garden and life goes on, albeit differently. There are new buds on the apple tree I planted from pip last year and the birds are singing with the energy of the new moon. I’m embodying the same with the help of my new moon water. Bergamot and sandalwood in the oil burner will support me through my working day. I’ll be working with a lot of fear and panic today so taking time to generate the right energy feels important.

I look forward to joining you for tea breaks in our magical kitchen

Whatever everyone’s day brings, I hope there are moments of peace and magic Halloween Smile

Elphame · 24/03/2020 10:28

It’s decorating on the menu here but at the moment the weather is to nice. I will use my one walk a day with the dog a little later..

My leg is much better thank you all. My GP isn’t really tactless, we get on very well and I am as blunt with him as he is with me. It makes communication so much easier! I already knew that the NHS won’t treat what I had until late stages and he was really just confirming it. He did give me a referral to one of the best vascular surgeons in the area so I didn’t have to pick one at random from google.

Still in bed here. I was enjoying listening to the deep silence and the birds but sadly it seems construction is still allowed so that’s been replaced by the banging and radio of obnoxious neighbour and his builders. Think I might go and stand by the wall and fake a long coughing fit......

speakout · 24/03/2020 11:00

Elphame

I am glad to hear your leg is improving. Great news.
YashmisCrone lovely to hear you are making the best of the day.

It is still very cold and cloudy here right now, but the forecast predicts some sunshine this afternoon.

I have stripped beds and washed sheets - just about to hang out my laundry.
I have my familiar kneading the blanket beside me as I write- such a calm oblivious energy we could all do with !!

OP posts:
littleninja · 24/03/2020 13:40

My daily gratitude thought for the day is for that of my immediate family. My children (so far) are embracing doing their school work from home and are not causing too much angst. Due to boredom they are even helping with household chores without putting up a fight and are actually doing a good job of it! My DH is working from home for the time being (although he could be called by called back at any time) but I am thankful he is currently safe and well here with us. It is surprisingly calm and productive and we are rubbing along nicely. for that I am grateful and I hope it lasts!

This morning I decided to do my one daily exercise activity early and headed to the beach for some peace and quiet. I was up with the lark with visions of sitting and watching the waves lap up on the shore whilst the dogs frolicked in the sand. Alas that was not to be, and within minutes of us being there my more testing furry friend found a dead animal to eat. I didn't get chance to see what it was (possibly a rat?!) he refused to drop it and then ran off with it and refused to come back until he polished the whole thing off, bones and all. Cue lots of me calling and feeling utterly helpless and repulsed. I know it is a natural thing for a dog but I was furious! Why did I bother with all those dog training sessions for him to completely disregard me?!!! When I finally managed to get him back I felt so stressed and upset, I put him straight back on the lead and marched him home where he had time out in the kitchen for several hours!!!

My early morning photo looks 'insta worthy' and you could easily see it with the caption 'beautiful early morning beach walk' but the reality was very different! 😂

I hope your day got off to a better start than mine!

Elphame · 24/03/2020 15:14

littleninja Gross aren't they! I know how I felt when my 10 week old cute little pup downed a mouse whole. It had been left by the cat. He followed that a few days later by consuming one that had been dead for ages....

Couldn't get it off him and I was nearly sick in the process. To really add spice to that day he brought the whole thing back up on my carpet an hour later in much the same state it went down......

speakout · 24/03/2020 16:18

Only a little sunshine here today, but turned out very windy and dry- so managed to get all my laundry dry anyway!!

My thoughts are now turning to a box of incense I have had in my garage for several months. All different brands, all sealed- perhaps 1000 packs.
Why do I buy things like that!!!

OP posts:
KizzyWayfarer · 24/03/2020 16:32

I guess connecting with the earth and with nature includes the less pleasant habits of our animal friends!
I am feeling grateful today in particular for DH. I couldn’t cope with everything right now without knowing that he has my back. For the sunshine that I think is helping everyone’s mental health. And for my plants - multicoloured wallflowers, grape hyacinths tulips and daffodils out now, some other new plants waiting to flower and seedlings and little plants in pots.
I think gardening can teach philosophy. One plant that I was excited about got all its leaves munched off by a slug. It’s still alive and may put out new leaves if I wait - if not it probably wasn’t the right plant in the right place.

andynarwhal · 24/03/2020 16:46

Please can I join? I've been hovering at the edges of all things witchy for a long time now and I just feel as though I need to connect with other people who feel the pull towards it. I think the huge uncertainty we're all facing at the moment is polarising my thoughts. More than anything though I'm looking for grounding and calm and a reconnection with nature. Any ideas as to how I can start?

speakout · 24/03/2020 16:55

andynarwhal a very warm welcome to our magical oasis.

Always tea in the pot and a special place for newcomers. You have made a good start in searching for calm and grounding.
Avoiding the news is one!! I am also planting right now, in the garden or pots if you don't have one.
Spending time outdoors, or even having a window open is a great calmer for me.
Today I dried all my laundry in a blustery wind, just taking them in was a pleasure, white sheets that are sparkling with the fresh energy of outdoors.
There will be others along soon to give you their ideas.

Just stopping by for a peppermint tea whilst DS is making us food. I’ve just ‘left work’ for the day ie, moved to a different room- not before I aired it and used some of speakout’s wonderful smudge spray to clear the air ready for tomorrow. I’d have liked to work with the doors open but my neighbours seem to have the same ideas as Elphame’s so it would have been too noisy. All in all a demanding day as expected but some positive results I think. Nice to get into my comfy clothes having needed to be’work dressed’ for videolink. Time to relax Brew

Glad to hear your leg is much better Elphame, and thanks for the coughing tip- I might try that here!

Good to hear that things are running smoothly at home right now littleninja. I’d have been the same with the rat or whatever it was. I used to struggle when the cat brought home ‘presents’ too 😬

It’d be lovely to see pictures of the beach or other wild places people manage to get to if you’re happy to share them.

speakout sounds like a great buy to me! It’ll be interesting to have a rummage and see what selection you have!

Kizzy I love your philosophy of plants. A lesson for us all in relinquishing control, and trusting the process- something else we’ll all be well practiced at through all this..

Welcome andynarwhal, it’s good to have you here. You’ve had some lovely and very doable ideas from speakout and I think that’s a big part of finding what’s right for you. It has to feel doable in your life as it is.

Many of us also get a lot from a few minutes of bare feet connecting with the earth, lighting a candle (many of us connect in this way at 8am & 8pm each day, we’d love to have you join us) a salt bath, oils or incense- whatever appeals. Look forward to chatting to you more

YashmisCrone · 24/03/2020 19:16

This is a big copy and paste but I thought it was interesting on the theme of astrological influences and how they link to our current circumstances:

“ The incoming energies are extremely intense during this New Moon, causing profound energetic recalibration and extreme internal and external shifts.

Many of us feel as though we have quantum leaped into a fragile alternative dimension and we are now becoming aware that the world as we once knew it has been left behind. A distinctly different paradigm has emerged and a new world is preparing to open.

Collectively we are in the midst of an existential crisis on a level most of us could not have predicted or preconceived. We might be struggling to recognise our surroundings, where nothing is as it once seemed and where the world no longer feels familiar and safe.

Overwhelming and debilitating emotions may be waking us through the night, and when we open our eyes it can be extremely difficult to separate reality from the dreamworld.

This is the twilight zone that we are all sharing and it is full of unanswerable “what if”, “why”, “who” and “when”. A stage of our lives where everything irrevocably and rapidly changes with every moment and our guard is constantly raised, as life-transforming news floods in.

No one knows what the future, or even the day, will bring. We have to just keep moving forward, banded together, knowing that accumulatively we have everything we need to make it through.

This New Moon is in Aries, the Sun is in Aries and Chiron, the Wounded Healer, is also in Aries. While this will bring to the surface some of our deepest wounds, it will also bring us waves of optimism and warrior strength to help us overcome our innermost fears, heal and ultimately to accelerate our evolution.

Carl Jung coined the term “wounded healer” to describe someone who has healed a significant karmic wound and has gathered knowledge from past painful encounters to use what they learned to assist with the healing of others.

This means we will be seeing an emergence of healers and lightworkers turning their healed wounds into much-needed wisdom that helps guide, protect and carry other wounded souls through these turbulent times.

Chiron’s energy encourages us to recognise where we have inflicted wounds in others. It asks us to be kinder, tender, understanding, forgiving, caring and to express empathy, love and compassion, so that all emotional pain is heard and healed. It pushes us to reach out, whether we are the ones hurting, whether we have hurt others or whether we are the ones helping others to heal. It compels us to let people know we are thinking of them, that we care and that we appreciate those who also show care.

On January 12th I wrote about the rare, potent, foundation-shaking Saturn-Pluto alignment, explaining how it would trigger a magnificent collective shift and that it would bring on the greatest transformation we will witness in our lifetime. I described the life-altering effects it would have and how collectively our entire planet was about to experience major and sudden change, which would close the previous 38-year cycle and kickstart a new 34-year cycle and new age.

An excerpt from my post describes the affect that the Saturn and Pluto combined cosmic energies can have on us all, and this is energy is expected to last for the duration of the year.

“We will all start to notice that both internal and external transformations are occurring on a huge level, as outdated beliefs, past conditioning, old patterns and oppressive and limiting structures disintegrate and fall apart.

The transition is not going to be easy, it is here to awaken us and remove us from our comfort zone so that we alter harmful ways and find more appreciation for our existence. We may try to fight aspects of it, throw tantrums, release tears and raise white flags with reluctance. However, as the days pass we will heal, restructure, regroup and realise how imperative the skin-shedding was for the evolution of our soul’s journey and expansion.

We are about to go through a major personal transformation and as the months pass we will be releasing our hold on anything harmful and creating space for much more healthy, fulfilling, balanced and harmonious encounters….. Overall, this is going to be one of the most transformational and life-altering phases we will go through.”

The Saturn and Pluto combination brought about a dramatic shift that has set the tone for the rest of the year, and it has already stripped away delusions and opened us up to the reality of the world we live in.

It compels us to recognise imbalances within our society and where there is lack or abundance - before we witness a dramatic levelling up.

These energies test our resilience and patience and they ask us to have courage and faith as we navigate painful and turbulent times, particularly related to the loss of our sense of permanence.

Saturn can feel heavy, persistent and it can be relentlessly disciplined, with restrictions and limitations being put in place. As paradigms and structures collapse around us Pluto forces us to rise like a phoenix from the ashes.

It is no coincidence that we are experiencing the most dramatic personal and societal transformations during this time, particularly concerning the deconstruction and reconstruction of power, regulation, finances and the authority of ruling parties. Overall, this brings challenges related to our priorities and values and forces us to rebalance - in particular with our relationship to money.

Saturn will be retrograde from May until the end of September, and during this time we will see significant shifts that bring radical change and progression.

Saturn-Pluto conjunct is known for transformational events, with the 1982 alignment delivering mass-scale recession along with the first case of the AIDS virus. For the past few years astrologers have been predicting that 2020 will be a year for pandemics and global recession, and from an astrological perspective we can expect disruption for a year, possibly two, but we will regroup, recover, heal together and start over.

These energies are known for bringing apocalypse type fears, extremities, distortion, deconstruction, redistribution of power and a general sense of doom. However, we can alter our mindset through having faith that when we collectively pull together we have the ability to pass through this period like mankind has done through similar historic pandemics - albeit a little slowly and with major challenges and suffering involved.

This is why it is vital that entire societies come together and look out for one another - this is not a time for judgements, criticisms, divisions or disconnections, regardless how infuriating aspects of this period may be.

There is still a lot of optimism coming this year as Jupiter and Pluto Conjunct three times - April 4/5th, June 30th and November 12th. Each one bringing with it new opportunities and possibilities, growth, renewed strength, problem solving, expansion and a major turn of events - so expect good news, improvements, collective progress and a positive twist in direction on each of these dates. These conjunctions signify that vital lessons have been learned and will be catalysts for transcending what previously seemed impossible, so be prepared for rapid and positive forward motion.

Jupiter and Pluto alignments are transformational times when old outdated structures crumble and when new and more balanced timelines begin. They are purging and detoxing periods where harmful institutes and systems deconstruct.

The most positive astrological event of the year is the once-in-a-generation Jupiter-Saturn Great Conjunction on the solstice, December 21, 2020 in Aquarius - the element Air. This marks the end of a difficult year, bringing with it stability and signifying a major breakthrough, the beginning of a brand new era and a breath of healthy fresh air.

This will be the closest Jupiter-Saturn conjunction since 1623 and without doubt it will propel a new momentous cycle that will see immense growth and security after a period of stillness and instability. This energy will be warmly welcomed after such a tumultuous and challenging year.

It is imperative that we unite and form tight energetic bonds worldwide to help us all through this tumultuous phase. We must open our hearts wider than ever before and have compassion both for ourselves and those around us, as we all struggle to attune to this new and exceedingly unfamiliar world.

There will be loss, there will be grief, there will be denial and there will be disbelief.

But there will also be mass resurrection.

There will be a sense of feeling wildly out of control.

But the truth is - there never really was control.

Despite how awakened and enlightened we may have believed ourselves to be, we have always been grasping to illusions, never wholly perceiving that there is something bigger and far greater out there that we will never fully comprehend.

Humans are always battling to figure everything out - when sometimes it is entirely impossible - our planet has it’s own unique life force and everything that exists on it has it’s own complex blueprint.

We will never be able to work out all of the reasoning and meaning behind every single thing that occurs, so our energy is far better spent focusing on creating a new healthier, balanced and far more harmonious existence.

Sometimes the most productive and peaceful option we can choose is to flow with these ever changing energies, while remaining alert and prepared to alter direction with little notice.

Life is not meant to be dissected, hurried or forced. Lean into this frequency and trust in the entire process.

I have heard people say they feel Mother Nature is tired, that she is burnt out and angry. Despite the current trauma, I am not feeling that.

I feel that she is fired up and charged and requires us to change - but she is holding space for us all as we enter into silence, surrender and solitude, so she can reboot, rebalance and recalibrate her energy in order to keep humanity and all creatures as healthy as possible.

There is no doubt our planet is resetting. There is an indefinable energy in the air - something different in the clouds and in the water. The whole environment feels different, almost overnight. Birds are louder than ever before, we are noticing wildlife returning and our senses are responding to the subtle vibrational changes.

Our journey was never guaranteed to be easy. It will always churn out plot twists, obstacles and painful turbulence. However, that is the divine reason we exist on this planet—to show the universe that we are united and in this together. Despite hardships or life knocking us down, we refuse to allow derailments to throw us off course or for turmoil to permanently lower our frequency.

Whatever changes are required, we can do this. We have everything we need within us to rise and overcome any situation. We can and we will cope - both alone and together.

When panic and anxieties start to creep in, we can remind ourselves how human we all are, how interconnected we all are, how resilient we all are, how strong we all are and how dependent on one another we are - despite what we might have once thought.

Rest, rethink and reprioritise. Certain material things or systems that we once thought we couldn’t live without may be painfully and suddenly eliminated and there will be chaotic days, but they will be replaced with new and healthier realities.

We absolutely must work together to balance out any destruction with an abundance of new creation. Set highly optimistic and positive intentions. Life will feel secure and beautiful again, someday very soon - I feel and believe this with every fibre of my being.

This is a defining time in our history where a before virus and after virus line is currently being drawn out. And there is no doubt that we will emerge from this forever altered. But we will rebuild, we will reconstruct and we will feel more connected to one another, to nature, to all life, and to our planet than ever before.

Unfortunately no one can predict exactly when this challenging and painful phase will be over, but intuitively and astrologically I feel that from September we will be over the most challenging aspects and from December onward we will see the new world shining through.

When time has passed we will look back on all that we survived, how we supported one another and how dramatically we evolved as a society - we will feel a mixture of gratitude and grief and we will feel so proud that together we made it through.

A virus is energy. Everything in our universe is energy. We will soon find ways to overcome it and harmoniously co-exist with it.

In the meantime:

Try to eliminate irrational fear, as it lowers the immune system.

Remind yourself that you are safe and protected and that this threat will soon pass.

Be prepared to step into a new reality and try not to fear the unknown.

Keep moving forward.

Find joy in simplicity.

Look for the blessings - there is magic within darkness.

Send out love and healing vibrations to our entire planet.

Reach out if you need help, there are many waiting and willing to respond, and tell your loved ones how much they mean to you.

Pray for those suffering, for our future world and for your future self.

We are in the midst of a tremendous revolution.

This is confirmation that things are going to be okay - you are going to be okay.

Everything is in the process of working its way out.

The majority of us are experiencing internal and external battles.

Stay kind. Especially to yourself.

I wish you emotional, mental & spiritual peace, health & wellness.

TThank you for that. I will wait until I have uninterrupted time to digest it fully!
I have just dropped my DD at work, and driving back in the twilight the song “Going Home” from te Movie “Local Hero” came on the radio.
I had to stop the car and listen. One of my all time favourite movies, and a reminder of the very important things in life- not big business, not crowded concrete jungles, but people, landscapes and Earth. A grounding moment!

Evening everyone, dropping in to say hello and collapse on a cushion. My head feels somewhat fried after an incredibly busy day, I've not had a chance to get outside at all, so I'm going to go out for a walk shortly. The sky is beautifully clear and I'm looking forward to seeing the new moon.

I've read all your posts, but my brain's capable of writing any sort of coherent response right now, but know that my love is with you all ❤️

Speakout your DD was on my mind earlier. Hospitals are not a good place to be at the moment, I hope she is doing ok. I'm sure she'll do you proud and rise to the challenge, she's lucky to have you to care for her after her shifts.
