Lord we lift up Your Name.

We give thanks for two new little beanies, Bobsmum's and Podglets?.

We give thanks that Worzella and Roseylea are quite a bit better, we pray for complete healing for both of them.

We also pray for CaptainDippy, not feeling great and struggling with a particularly difficult issue at the moment.

We pray for Podglet as she works through a week of incredible business. Lord we hold her up for Your particular love and care.

We also pray for Mummy2TandF. After the very sudden and unexplained death of her dh she is feeling totally overwhelmed by money worries and grief. Lord uphold her and give her all the practical help she needs. Also help her in answering questions from her ds and help him come to terms with his grief

We also remember Onlyjoking and Steve before the Lord with their three children.

We give thanks with Harrisey that her ds is settling into school and for a few days away. We pray for strength as she copes with the after effects of MIL's childcare

We give thanks with MaryBS for a wonderful holiday and pray for her as she takes up study and essay writing. We pray for her ds and his appointment with the paediatrician on 14th September

Zipadisoozy - prayers for peace of mind concerning ds and his new school. Prayers for him too as he settles into a class with two bullies from his previous school. Let's pray for his protection and right development.
We give thanks, with Marslady for the safe arrival of the two babies she looks after.
We thank the Lord for CaptainCaveman and her ds, who keeps us amused with the wonderful things he comes out with.
We remember Notsofarnow and the difficulties in her relationship with exh. We pray for wisdom

We welcome the new girls Scootergrrrl, Commanderchaos, Sandcastles and Shreksmissus. We pray for Mr Shrek and his very busy life and with him for all dhs who work so hard for their families. May the Lord bless them richly and keep them walking in His way.

Several young children have been brought to our notice for prayer:- Brook Kendrick who lives in Northampton and is very poorly with a heart condition in Great Ormond Street Hospital and C who is known to Bobsmum. He suffers from an inoperable brainstem tumour.

We commit ourselves and all our friends to the care of our great and wonderful Lord and Saviour.

Roseylea · 10/09/2007 17:46

Hello all!

I've been reading and praying.

Just a quick request from me: I got my chest X-ray results today and it wasn't v. good (shadows on right lung) So I've got to go back and see the doctor again.

I really truly have been buoyed up by God's love over these last few weeks. Please pray that I continue to be. That verse "he lifts me up on wings like eagles" is so lovely and so much my prayer for myself atm. Please pray that I am able to see my life from God's perspective and not from the perspective of fear. Thank you!

DutchOma · 10/09/2007 17:57

We have a great God, Rosey and He will give you His wonderful peace as He has done over the past few weeks.
It is hard to submit to His will for your life, but in the end He knows what is best.
Every blessing

Praying for you Rosey, when do you see the gp? how are you feeling in yourself now?

Hey Worz, it is Mary Pytches we are doing - our vicar went to New Wine so wonder if they picked it up there? I miss the first session as I'll be in Spain (did I mention my holiday yet ) but can make the other 5 sessions. There is info on the church website, I'll post a link in a minute.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 10/09/2007 19:35

sorry haen't been on this thread for ages - but could do with some prayers tonight please.

My Grandad is critically ill in hospital, consultant has said anything from a few hours to a few days - nothing more can be done for him (he's in his 90's) and he himself has requested no recussitation. I'm currently in the middle of trying to make travel plans to make a flying visit to Bristol tomorrow (DH taking the day off work to do the "childcare" stuff so I can go without stuffing up DS3's routines etc). I just hope I can make it in time

CaptainDippy · 10/09/2007 20:12

Evening!

Mary - how is DH now?

Oh Rosey! Have you seen the GP yet? So sorry it doesn't look like good news - {{{{{{hugs}}}} Praying for a miracle .....

Praying for calm, Fellow Captain.

QofQ - {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} Praying it is not too late - Praying for a calm and peaceful end for your Granpa. xx

DutchOma · 10/09/2007 20:14

What a lovely church CC.
Hope you have a good trip QoQ and that you are intime to say your farewells to your grandfather. Blessings on your dh as well, hope the boys are good for him.
If anybody is interested I have posted a link to my Etsy site in the Arts and Crafts section

Good evening all

QofQ - praying you get to see your grandad asap.

My gran died at the beginning of the year and I saw here for a lovely visit a few days before she died, but didn't actually say "goodbye" - she would have been furious and no doubt got in a strop if she thought I was getting all sentimental on her - tough old lady and just fab

Rosey - praying for rest and clarification of what's going on for you.

DO - dh and I have very good friends in Bala - they used to own the Bala Lake Hotel/Fach Ddeliog (by the railway) and ran it as a Christian retreat centre for years. then the Lord called them to stay on but play a more active role in the town, so they're still there and loving it Bala's gorgeous - we need to get back there soon.

I'm feeling yucky - but I've worked out that I only get evening sickness, so I can just about force down breakfast and lunch before the sickness kicks in. But I spose it means all is well with no3!

Dh is at a church meeting tonight (he's a deacon) and he's going to tell the other deacons so we have on-the-ground people praying for us too IYSWIM.

And tomorrow, the plumbers are coming to measure up for our central heating system!!!! We might have proper heating by the winter - hallelujah!!!

DutchOma · 10/09/2007 20:31

Oh Bobsmum, I hope you soon get the central heating and that you get rid of all sickness at whatever time of the day.
We'll only be in Bala for a week but it may be worth knowing which church your friends worship at? Don't know whether we'll make it to church bro and sil are not Christians.
When we went to Wales when the children were small we often went at Whitsun, speaking in tongues takes on a whole new meaning in a Welsh speaking environment

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 10/09/2007 20:31

Hi Do!

Hurrah for Central Heating, Bobsmum - Glad all is well with Beanie 3 despite sickness - praying it passes soon! Did DS have a good Birthday?? Did you get my parcel ok sweetie? xx

bobsmum · 10/09/2007 20:44

Hi CD - got parcel - both fabby preggie pops and pressie - thank you so much! thank you letters will be winging their way south when I can pin ds down with a pencil (which he can hold properly all of a sudden - praise God!).

DO - I'll ask dh when he gets in tonight - I think it might be the Welsh Chapel which is quite evangelical - they're learning WElsh atm - and very involved in the youth work in the town. Just a lovely couple - gave me and dh loads of great pre wedding advice when we got engaged and prayed me into dh's life in the first place, which is quite a weird thought

notsofarnow · 10/09/2007 21:07

I've stayed in the Christian hotel in Bala for a church retreat year last march.

I don't live that far from Bala - can't remember how long it takes to get there.

prayers to all.

MaryBS · 10/09/2007 21:43

HI CD - DH is feeling much better now, thanks for asking!

Rosey - hugs sweetheart, you are in my prayers, but you are SO right for ministry, in the words of Julian of Norwich "All shall be well".

CCM - what a lovely church! I especially love those banners on the front page!

Done a bit more of my essay, slowly but surely! I'm shattered - time for bed as a certain boingy gentleman, probably related to our Sooz, once said... (apologies if that's completely over the head of some of our youngsters! )

DO - hope you have a really good holiday, your wisdom, good humour and faith (not necessarily in that order) will be sorely missed!

DutchOma · 10/09/2007 22:13

I'm not going yet Mary, it's another fortnight, but I'm preparing now as I have a busy time ahead.
Thank you for your very kind words

OP posts:
MaryBS · 10/09/2007 22:24

I know DO, but if I didn't say it now, I'd probably forget (I hand my essay in in 2 weeks)

harrisey · 11/09/2007 01:11

dd2 was fine by bedtime though she ate nothign till 7pm then downed 3 rounds of toast!

Not sure I'm not getting it though - still up as when I lie down in bed get very queasy and spinny - so think it might be coming on for me. Dd1 and ds are fine though!

slim22 · 11/09/2007 01:51

hello all.
Just wanted to say this is such a beautifull uplifting heartwarming thread!!!!
I'm not at all religious (non practising muslim) but if my mind is shut, my heart is open and it's lovely to see this.
Have a nice day.

CaptainCaveman · 11/09/2007 03:21

Thanks Slim22, you're welcome to drop by and chat anytime .

Mary the banners on the homepage of the website are photos of ones that hang in the church. I love StPauls, its so homely and friendly.

Well, what am I doing up at 3 am? Hungry and stressed and sleepless, so I figured I'd have a snack and a hot chocolate then go back to bed. Dreaming about parts of my next essay (performance measurement, how utterly exciting...) and I know I'm stressed because my jaw hurts from being so tightly clenched!! However, its much better than feeling panicky so Praise God for the panic having gone.

Ds just woke up and got into our bed (about half an hour ago), said "mummy I promise not to hit you today, just stroke you" and promptly fell back to sleep. Hee hee, little monkey.

Harrisey, how are you feeling now? Praying the sickness avoids you and that you feel well rested.

Bobsmum - I had evening sickness with ds, it started about 4pm everyday and lasted until bedtime. Disappeared around 17 weeks which was a slightly latet than I'd hoped!!

MaryBS · 11/09/2007 07:35

Hi Slim, I'm really touched that you came by and said that! Means a lot! I find it uplifting too, which is why I spend so much time here . Feel free to drop by any time.

CCM - yes I read that about the banners, I'd love a set for myself! Absolutely stunning (note to self, thou shalt not covet thy neighbours banner.. ). I was awake about 3 as well, should have come on here and joined you! AND I was clenching my teeth when reading this just now, made me laugh and unclench them!

I've just relieved my stress, fired off an email with an agenda attached. I desperately need a meeting with my vicar to discuss what's going on at church and how I fit in. Please pray it's taken well (although I have to admit, he's usually pretty good about it).

I made a quip at the end about "point of elasticity", not sure if he'll get it... anyone else remember that from Physics at school?

CaptainCaveman · 11/09/2007 07:43

Good morning (again!), now rested and feeling much brighter. Finally went back to sleep around 4.15 I think, then the alarm went off at 7. Dh and ds still asleep . Ooops spoke too soon, ds now awake...gotta go
