Lord we lift up Your Name.

We give thanks for two new little beanies, Bobsmum's and Podglets?.

We give thanks that Worzella and Roseylea are quite a bit better, we pray for complete healing for both of them.

We also pray for CaptainDippy, not feeling great and struggling with a particularly difficult issue at the moment.

We pray for Podglet as she works through a week of incredible business. Lord we hold her up for Your particular love and care.

We also pray for Mummy2TandF. After the very sudden and unexplained death of her dh she is feeling totally overwhelmed by money worries and grief. Lord uphold her and give her all the practical help she needs. Also help her in answering questions from her ds and help him come to terms with his grief

We also remember Onlyjoking and Steve before the Lord with their three children.

We give thanks with Harrisey that her ds is settling into school and for a few days away. We pray for strength as she copes with the after effects of MIL's childcare

We give thanks with MaryBS for a wonderful holiday and pray for her as she takes up study and essay writing. We pray for her ds and his appointment with the paediatrician on 14th September

Zipadisoozy - prayers for peace of mind concerning ds and his new school. Prayers for him too as he settles into a class with two bullies from his previous school. Let's pray for his protection and right development.
We give thanks, with Marslady for the safe arrival of the two babies she looks after.
We thank the Lord for CaptainCaveman and her ds, who keeps us amused with the wonderful things he comes out with.
We remember Notsofarnow and the difficulties in her relationship with exh. We pray for wisdom

We welcome the new girls Scootergrrrl, Commanderchaos, Sandcastles and Shreksmissus. We pray for Mr Shrek and his very busy life and with him for all dhs who work so hard for their families. May the Lord bless them richly and keep them walking in His way.

Several young children have been brought to our notice for prayer:- Brook Kendrick who lives in Northampton and is very poorly with a heart condition in Great Ormond Street Hospital and C who is known to Bobsmum. He suffers from an inoperable brainstem tumour.

We commit ourselves and all our friends to the care of our great and wonderful Lord and Saviour.

Praise God Harrisey! Thats great news, I pray his recovery continues and gets better and better! How's your migraine now? Good to see you back too

Grrr, dh has been to the pub and is now SNORRRRRING for Englane . I keep kicking and poking him but he starts up again 10 seconds later. Then ds wakes up and gets in to our bed crying because 'rabbit' is cold (he got peed on yesterday so went in the washing machine, then dried on the radiator so was nice and hot when ds got into bed last night!). So I'm lying there hungry and feeling sick and not sleeping. Hoping a banana and hot chocolate sort me out.

CD, only read half of one of those 8 articles

mufti · 20/09/2007 07:12

hi all. popping in to wish you all the best for today Mary. dont forget the big stick

CaptainDippy · 20/09/2007 07:23

All the best for today, Mary!

Hope you got some good sleep in the end, CC, poor thing... and that you get some good studying done today! Not a great night here either, P up at 4, 5, 6 and has just woken up now, bless her - Hoping it just her yukky cold and not a relapse!

Yey for DH, Harrisey - Praise God - Cont to pray for his recovery ...... Hope you are feeling much better today!

Vio from our PostNatal Thread's had her little boy, James' funeral on Friday - apparently it went ok and was a very beautiful, moving occasion. She has set up a little web memorial for him, I'll post a link in a mo' ... do go and "light a candle" for him!

CaptainDippy · 20/09/2007 07:25

James' Memorial

MaryBS · 20/09/2007 07:28

Harrisey that is FANTASTIC news! I'm so pleased for you and your DH! Thank God for his mercy!

Mufti - thanks for your good wishes.

If people want to pray, pray I don't make a fool of myself .

Thanks to CD for posting for prayers for me. I didn't feel up to typing it again. Thing is I try to live my life properly, and am aware of scrutiny from others, but how do you defend yourself against something that never happened? And be told to "watch what you say" to the extent you can't ask someone about his church in front of a parishioner, just in case they misconstrue it? Its one aspect of ministry you don't really think about!

To be fair, M took the tongue lashing I gave him (and when I'm in full flight I don't hold back ), and if anything was conciliatory when I saw him yesterday after school(although he never said anything - after all a parishioner might have heard! ). I wasn't angry AT him, not really, more at the busybody who stirred things up!

There are at most 5 people who it could be, but I won't try to find out who (although I'd like to know), because how can I minister to someone effectively if I feel I can't say anything to them?

PandaG · 20/09/2007 08:05

Praying you don't make a fool of yourself Mary - but as always that you can be a fool for Christ! (Is that just too super spiritual!!) Praying too that you can move on from this hurt - you must feel so cross and angry about the whole situation, praying that you can find forgiveness to the other person whoever it may be, and peace for the whole situation. Well done to M for being conciliatory.

Fab news Harrisey, depression is such a difficult thing - I know, I've been there in the past, and have been on the verge again recently. Praying for protection for your whole family.

CaptainDippy · 20/09/2007 10:08

Morning again - catching up quickly here before I take DD1 off to the hospital for a Pre-Op appt AGAIN! Sigh. Please pray my mum and gran cope ok with looking after the younger two. Please pray younger two stay asleep (esp DD3!!) and please pray appt is quick!! Eeeeek!!

Stil feeling rough, but struggling through .....

No worries, Mary!

Hi Panda!

PandaG · 20/09/2007 10:20

Hello again!

praying that the hosp appt is smooth CD

I'm a bit nervous, just saw a job advertised in a shop window that I could do, phoned up, and got an interview Monday! Is kitchen asst in a local independent school, 4 hours a day, 2 days per week. As DH says I am pretty overqualified, and I am not a fan of the indepentent sector either, but, this job is the kind of hours that I want, to be around for my children. If it is God's will, then let me get offered the job

CaptainDippy · 20/09/2007 10:29

Cool stuff, Panda - great opportunity - will pray ... God's Will be done! Ooooh must find Toilet Prayer .......

CaptainDippy · 20/09/2007 10:32

Toilet Prayer!!

"Almighty God who hast sent the Spirit of Truth unto us to guide us into all truth; so rule our lives by thy power that we may be truthful in thought and word and deed. May no fear or hope ever make us false in act or speech; cast out from us whatsoever loveth or maketh a lie, and bring us all into the perfect freedom of thy truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Amen

Brooke Foss Westcott, 1825-1901.

I love the word "whatsoever" or "whosoever" ... so "oldy worldy"

ZipadiSuzy · 20/09/2007 12:29

Panda - prayers for monday, any job that fits in with children is God sent

CD - did hospital appt go ok, and did family cope with younger two

ZipadiSuzy · 20/09/2007 12:41

CD - prayers for Jim Jim, I have just read all the prayers via your link! gosh, speechless!

podglet · 20/09/2007 14:54

Hi all,

CD, had a look at that link for Jim Jim and had a big cry - what a gorgeous little boy and such a heartfelt letter from his mum. Had to give DS an extra big cuddle.

Good luck for today Mary - go lefties

Went to look round DS's nursery today. My date to go back to work in 5th Nov so at least he will be with me on his birthday. It looks lovely and the staff are very nice.

DO - hope you are feeling better

Am extremely tired today. Had a lousy nights sleep with backache and DP snoring - even though he was downstairs!!!

Right, less moaning, more getting on with it

Roseylea · 20/09/2007 16:22

Hello all!

Harrissey So glad that your dh is so much better. Long may it continue!

Mary hugs and a large gin for you! I'll e-mail later.

thank you for the link to Jim Jim's memorial - I blub when I read things like that

Panda I pray that God, who holds your life in his hands, will give you the job that is just right for you and your family.

Hello to everyone else - Suze, Podglet, DO, NSFN, Worz if you're around, Mufti, CCM, anyone I've forgotten (sorry!) hope you are all alright and "cruising along in a state of grace" as my BIL puts it!

Well my leadership training course last night was stunningly fantastic! It was so much what I needed to hear - my vicar was leading it and what he said was basically that at the heart of christian leadership, or any "giving" of yourself to the kingdom of God, is prayer - we can't do anything of any value without prayer...oooh I could go on, it was such exciting, inspiring stuff and it has really challenged me to take out more time in my days for prayer and just being with God, and to make that a priority, even if it means doing less "stuff" in and for the church. He said, interestingly, that the Hebrew word for 'priest' has as its root meaning 'one who draws near to God'. I am really excited about the rest of the course - I feel that I will learn values and ideas that will become absolutely the bedrock of how I live...exciting!!!

DutchOma · 20/09/2007 20:02

NSFN where are you? Are you alright? Shall I take the book to Wales and see if we can meet up?

Drama here this morning:- I was still in bed as I still hadn't slept that well and went back to sleep after cup of tea at 6.30 Had to be up to go to Brum to a meeting, leaving at 12.00. At 10.30 dd phones:-"Can you look after Zac for a bit, I think I have broken my toe". So dh went to fetch him, while I got dressed, but because he had a dental appointment and wouldn't have been that happy to look after him, I cancelled the meeting.
I said that I would pray for her toe just to be bruised, which fortunately it was and she said that she would pray too,

CaptainCaveman · 20/09/2007 20:50

Hey guys, feeling v tired owing to last nights middle of the night wakefulness & dh's snoring. Man I felt r-o-u-g-h this morning. Feeling ever so slightly envious of my friend who's just found out she's having another boy (scan went v well by the way).
Praying for more sleep and less nausea tonight!
God bless you all xx

katzjazzhandscheeseygrin · 20/09/2007 21:36

been very bad and been keeping up,

just popping in for a quick prayer request, DD2 is back at the children's for her next skin appointment, am hoping that they can give us more answers

ZipadiSuzy · 20/09/2007 22:48

Katz - prayers for your dd and her skin, poor wee mite

cc - prayers for you to stay feeling rough (good sign) but not that you can't sleep hey, do I remember you are off to spain on sunday(ish)?

Rosey - hope the drama unfolded into a more restful evening

podglet - I also hear my dh snoring 'DOWNSTAIRS' - pleased about ds nursery, aw how old will he be soon?

Gotta go to bed, just got home from work and my nicely decorated bathroom 'wallpaper' has been drawn on 'big circles' its that Finlay! just why do I bother to keep a nice house (not that it is)

Please may I have a little prayer request, my coursework is bothering me, its taking me sooooooooooooooooooo long just to find answers in the log book and sometimes there arn't any answers, I'm supposed to know them and I am also struggling with my teaching plan for saturday. To think I have got this stress till christmas.

But, praise the lord for my family and our good health, I have my 3 children looking beautiful and scrummy all tucked up safe in bed

MaryBS · 20/09/2007 22:54

I'm an honorary egghead Dermot told me I was because I worked out that the common name for "Carassius auratus" was goldfish, because Aurum is latin for Gold, and Au is the chemical symbol for gold.

I didn't win (went out on 3rd sudden death), we didn't win, but we had a really good time. Daphne of course was lovely, and so was Judith - she was incredibly chatty!

PandaG · 21/09/2007 07:23

Well done Mary! Let us know when you are on!

Praying for DD Katz, hope the hosp. appt. is helpful.

DO - praying you have a good holiday, and that DD's foot is better soon.

Busy day, got a friend staying for a couple of days with her 2, so the house is full.

MarsLady · 21/09/2007 08:57

Rushing in again!

Well Praise God that I managed to get my French done!

Third lady's waters have gone so pray that it is a quick delivery today (this evening). Please pray for a safe delivery. I have an English essay that needs to be done by Tuesday so please pray that I get that done and that my other 2 ladies hold on. It would be great (for me) if Lady 1 held on till next Weds/Thurs and that Lady 2 held on until the following week. Please pray, again, for safe deliveries.

Oh and did I mention the little matter of the written French that also has to be in by Tuesday?

Thanks ladies. Rushing out to do some English whilst I can. (Would it be wrong to pray for an extra couple of hours to be added to each day and another day or so to the week? )

DutchOma · 21/09/2007 09:12

Wasn't it Joshua who prayed for the clocks to go back? So he would have more time to fight? Someone, anyway.
It seems to be a fairly unusual event, Mars
Praying for a clear mind for you and for safe delivery of all three ladies.
