Lord we lift up Your Name.

We give thanks for two new little beanies, Bobsmum's and Podglets?.

We give thanks that Worzella and Roseylea are quite a bit better, we pray for complete healing for both of them.

We also pray for CaptainDippy, not feeling great and struggling with a particularly difficult issue at the moment.

We pray for Podglet as she works through a week of incredible business. Lord we hold her up for Your particular love and care.

We also pray for Mummy2TandF. After the very sudden and unexplained death of her dh she is feeling totally overwhelmed by money worries and grief. Lord uphold her and give her all the practical help she needs. Also help her in answering questions from her ds and help him come to terms with his grief

We also remember Onlyjoking and Steve before the Lord with their three children.

We give thanks with Harrisey that her ds is settling into school and for a few days away. We pray for strength as she copes with the after effects of MIL's childcare

We give thanks with MaryBS for a wonderful holiday and pray for her as she takes up study and essay writing. We pray for her ds and his appointment with the paediatrician on 14th September

Zipadisoozy - prayers for peace of mind concerning ds and his new school. Prayers for him too as he settles into a class with two bullies from his previous school. Let's pray for his protection and right development.
We give thanks, with Marslady for the safe arrival of the two babies she looks after.
We thank the Lord for CaptainCaveman and her ds, who keeps us amused with the wonderful things he comes out with.
We remember Notsofarnow and the difficulties in her relationship with exh. We pray for wisdom

We welcome the new girls Scootergrrrl, Commanderchaos, Sandcastles and Shreksmissus. We pray for Mr Shrek and his very busy life and with him for all dhs who work so hard for their families. May the Lord bless them richly and keep them walking in His way.

Several young children have been brought to our notice for prayer:- Brook Kendrick who lives in Northampton and is very poorly with a heart condition in Great Ormond Street Hospital and C who is known to Bobsmum. He suffers from an inoperable brainstem tumour.

We commit ourselves and all our friends to the care of our great and wonderful Lord and Saviour.

Hello all!

Just a quick hi as I go off to get ds in a mo.

CD sorry to hear you're having one of those days - I hope little P starts sleeping a bit better.

Hi Podglet! Wow, you've got a lot of decisions to make. I pray that God gives you all the wisdom you need.

I have had a really refreshing, lovely morning with a female vicar who is my "spiritual director" (yay!) and I feel so relaxed I could just go off to sleep! But I can't. [sighs]. Housework - yuk. I'm back at church later for the leadership training course, so I need to have a good rest - is that a good enough excuse, do you think?!

CaptainCaveman · 19/09/2007 14:18

Well that was an exercise in futility. Despite printing directions from multimap i still got hopelessly lost and could't find the place. So I'm home again without my parcel
rubbish.

Still, on with the study..

ZipadiSuzy · 19/09/2007 15:16

CC - Aw no hockey skirt, you were so looking forward to that treat! prayers for it to miraculously turn up at a locatable place

CD - prayers for a healthier sleeping pattern and of course general health, twins have 'the snoots' aswell, rotton isn't it

Rosey - Any excuse is 'enough' to get out of housework, glad you had an inspiring morning, enjoy tonight

podglet - prayers for your ds to settle in nursery, like you say, he'll be fine, its always us that suffer the worry though hope the pregnancy is going ok, how do you think work are going to react? workplaces don't make it easy for working mummies do they

DO - prayers for a digital success, I hope I can record Mary aswell, perhaps we can get it live on the computer somehow

Happy sunny Wednesdays (well nearly sunnyish)

ZipadiSuzy · 19/09/2007 15:21

I think I am out of my depth, der brain, I have spent 3 hours on homework this morning and searched high and low for answers, but no! plus can't find previous certificate - agh!

Please pray my brain opens up and accepts 'INPUT' just trying to better oneself instead of being a slave! forever!

CaptainDippy · 19/09/2007 15:30

Brain has emptied, but hello anyway! Has gone worryingly quiet downstairs, so off to investigate. .......

CaptainDippy · 19/09/2007 15:33

Awwwwww, just went and "spied" through the living room door and my two gorgeous older girlies are sat on the futon, chatting to each other whilst "breast feeding" a rather over-sized toy hippo and a frog hot water bottle cover respectively!

mufti · 19/09/2007 15:34

awww indeed CD.
are you less tired today?

CaptainDippy · 19/09/2007 15:38

I have to admit, no, I am still as tired, mufti .... give it a few years, it'll pass! How are you sweetie??

mufti · 19/09/2007 15:43

pretty tired, but mine isnt related to rip van winkle ds.
think it would be easier if it was, iyswim, as to be expected, but sadly still waking in night, do get chance to catch up the day the sometimes
wish mum hadnt told me its one of the symptoms of the menopause
used to go off when my head hit the pillow, and not wake till he did, so it is strange.

CaptainDippy · 19/09/2007 15:54

{{{{{{Mufti}}}}} Praying for better sleep tonight hon. xx

mufti · 19/09/2007 15:54

thank you x

CaptainDippy · 19/09/2007 15:56

xx

MaryBS · 19/09/2007 16:09

Hi all, the mood I'm in, I've given myself 100 lines:

Teach Me my God and King
In all things thee to see
And what I do in anything
To do it as for thee

Perhaps after I've written that out, I'll feel better. CD I've sent you a brief email explaining... (you can post it here if you like)

DutchOma · 19/09/2007 16:25

NSFN Are you set up for CAT? Or will MN not forward an address if you are not? Are there other ways of getting in touch?

CD I'm alright. Went to see the nurse practitioner this morning after another night of being sick and wetting myself (sorry if TMI)and she has given me the nose spray that cleared it up last time and also a linctus, so hopefully I'll sleep tonight.
Hope P gets over her cold soon, it's much worse when you are a tiny poppet.

Mufti, I never lay awake at night because of the menopause! It's true that you don't need as much sleep when you get older, I now often wake up at six am and feel perfectly rested, having gone to bed at 11.00.
That's when I'm not having a cough and cold.

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd report in on Ds's yoga session.

I needn't have worried about ds taking part particularly because his behaviour was atrocious and he spent most of the session rolling around the floor muttering 'But i'm unfit, I can't do excerises' I was so mortified.

But apart from the that, here's what went on. The girl was indeed from the local new Age centre. she runs kids and adults yoga classes there (Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga).

Her rapport with the children was fab and she really engaged with them, telling a story and incorporating yogic poses into the story. It all seemed perfectly harmless on the surface. Although I know the "warrior" pose she brought in repeatedly, for example, is meant to represent Shiva and give you strength and courage -- so felt a wee bit uncomfortable with that sort of thing.

Anyway, was about to let her off with the whole thing and just keep quiet, until she made us all sit down in a circle and 'Namaste' - again - fairly acceptable, but then we had to repeatedly chant "Om mani padme om"| (Hail the jewel in the Lotus - a Bhuddist mantra) and a couple of others that I couldn't make out. She didn't explain what they were to the children, just made them all say it repeatedly and said something about it being a wish for good things to happen.

Now if I'd gone in and done a Christian assembly and told all the children to recite a prayer - I would have been strung up on the nearest lamp post by now!

I've spoken to ds' teacher now and told her of my concerns, but she left the room for the 5 minutes of chanting. She says she'll pass on my comments. I wasn't OTT, just said how it came across as being more than just healthy excercises; that there was definitely an overt spiritual input and that I was a bit taken aback.

Tbh - it was far more overt than I'd imagined - I really thought I'd have to pick apart everything that went on to have anything "negative" to say, but it was right there up front at the end.

Ho hum.

MaryBS · 19/09/2007 18:03

bobsmum, so sorry to hear the "instructor" took advantage of the situation. One consolation is, no matter how uncomfortable you felt, it will all have gone over the kids' heads. Hopefully the school will take on board the criticism and not have her back!

Have heard that the episode of Eggheads we are filming tomorrow will be shown "sometime before Christmas. We are only filming it tomorrow, its not on tomorrow.

DutchOma · 19/09/2007 19:13

Thanks for letting us know Mary.

could do with some prayers for the music minisitry in our church (started a thread in Culture Vultures about it actually). What was already a very small choir and music group is now virtually non-existent due to a large number of youngsters leaving for University. I feel strongly we need to take a new "direction" with it - but not sure which way to go/how to approach it.

Thanks.

CaptainCaveman · 19/09/2007 20:10

Prayers for Mary and this situation she emailed me about earlier needed, please ....

"I think the devil is out to get me. I seem to be having 1 crisis after another at the moment. Please pray for the member of our congregation who thought it was a good idea to report to M an argument that never took place just because she/he overheard a conversation and got the wrong end of the stick.

If she/he had spoken to me it would have been cleared up in seconds... as it was it left me telling M "if thats what ministry is all about you can stick it""

PandaG · 19/09/2007 21:37

big hugs Mary, and prayers too - and what I said the other day still stands. Much love. xx

harrisey · 19/09/2007 23:37

Havent posted much - ben very busy and coping with everthing - then, suddenly, the last couple of days, dh is turning round.

Copied from my other thread on this

"I went to bed at 5 when he got home tonight as I had had a migraine all day. He said he could cope - so I trusted him!

Woke up at 10.30 this evening feeling much better. Lounge and dining room are tidy, the whole days dishes are washed, 2 loads of wahing done and hung up, he's made his lunch for tomorrow, bathed and hair washed 3 children and put them to bed (without me hearing or waking up - that means no fighting, no squealing, no running about - amazing).

He was still smiling when he went to bed."

Praise God (and venlafaxine!). He's getting better. He hasnt been this well for over a year, and I feel like I have my husband back! I know it is a while yet as he will be on the tablets for up to a year, but thankyou Lord he's better for now!
