Lord we lift up Your Name.

We give thanks for two new little beanies, Bobsmum's and Podglets?.

We give thanks that Worzella and Roseylea are quite a bit better, we pray for complete healing for both of them.

We also pray for CaptainDippy, not feeling great and struggling with a particularly difficult issue at the moment.

We pray for Podglet as she works through a week of incredible business. Lord we hold her up for Your particular love and care.

We also pray for Mummy2TandF. After the very sudden and unexplained death of her dh she is feeling totally overwhelmed by money worries and grief. Lord uphold her and give her all the practical help she needs. Also help her in answering questions from her ds and help him come to terms with his grief

We also remember Onlyjoking and Steve before the Lord with their three children.

We give thanks with Harrisey that her ds is settling into school and for a few days away. We pray for strength as she copes with the after effects of MIL's childcare

We give thanks with MaryBS for a wonderful holiday and pray for her as she takes up study and essay writing. We pray for her ds and his appointment with the paediatrician on 14th September

Zipadisoozy - prayers for peace of mind concerning ds and his new school. Prayers for him too as he settles into a class with two bullies from his previous school. Let's pray for his protection and right development.
We give thanks, with Marslady for the safe arrival of the two babies she looks after.
We thank the Lord for CaptainCaveman and her ds, who keeps us amused with the wonderful things he comes out with.
We remember Notsofarnow and the difficulties in her relationship with exh. We pray for wisdom

We welcome the new girls Scootergrrrl, Commanderchaos, Sandcastles and Shreksmissus. We pray for Mr Shrek and his very busy life and with him for all dhs who work so hard for their families. May the Lord bless them richly and keep them walking in His way.

Several young children have been brought to our notice for prayer:- Brook Kendrick who lives in Northampton and is very poorly with a heart condition in Great Ormond Street Hospital and C who is known to Bobsmum. He suffers from an inoperable brainstem tumour.

We commit ourselves and all our friends to the care of our great and wonderful Lord and Saviour.

Lol out of the mouths of babes!

Well done on Eggheads Mary - be sure to let us know when you are 'on'! Glad you are feeling more positive, and thank you Lord forthe words of the encouragement from your previous tutor.

Podglet - Good to hear your Gran's funeral went well, praying for you as you move on

I've had a fun day - cards and presents in bed this morning, then a haircut, and then my friend's wedding this afternoon. If I can find a babysitter DH is going to take me out for dinner tomorrow!

CaptainCaveman · 17/09/2007 20:11

Panda did I miss something - is it your birthday?

MaryBS · 17/09/2007 20:23

Well, judging by my last essay, maybe my faith wasn't strong enough!

DH's "director's lunch" tomorrow. Praying that it all becomes clear for him what they are expecting of him, as they've been a little cagey up to now...

Onwards with the essay. I'm shelving part 1 to get on with part 2... George Herbert, much more interesting!

PandaG · 17/09/2007 20:44

Yes CC - it is my birthday! 21 again

DutchOma · 17/09/2007 21:30

Happy birthday PandaG. Bit late, but then, we never knew...

Yes George Herbert is interesting, isn't he Mary. What a boost to have such encouragement from your previous tutor.
Was she in any way able to comment on your 'relationship' (for want of a better word) with the current one?

MaryBS · 17/09/2007 21:51

Happy birthday Panda!!!! More virtual bumps!

DO - yes, when she asked who my tutor was for this module, she said "well, he's so far up his own... I'd better not say any more". I thought I'd misheard her at first! She asked if he were new to the module, told her no, he wrote the syllabus!

Talking of toilet prayers, I don't think George Herbert quite meant this the way I read it:

"Only thy grace, which with these elements comes, Knoweth the ready way, And hath the privy key, Op'ning the soul's most subtle rooms"

I don't think "privy key" has quite the same meaning nowadays!

I've written a reasonable chunk tonight. With a bit of luck I'll get most of it finished tomorrow night, and then I can put it behind me, till the next one...

CaptainDippy · 17/09/2007 21:57

Happy Birthday PandaG!

Popping in before bed again - hello! Glady ou all enjoyed the "Toilet Prayer", another installment tomorrow ......

Glad your gran's funeral was so beautiful Podglet - a proper send off!

Mind is blank ....

ROFL @ your DS, CC - what a cracker!

I am tired. Yawn.....

TheQueenOfQuotes · 17/09/2007 22:34

well that's just typical isn't it - after months of me waiting patiently (well impatiently inside ) for DH to "make a move" towards properly re-kindling our relationship he does so the other night........and then I promptly go down with a stinking cough and cold and he won't come within 6ft of me .

But I have to say things feel so relaxed here it's lovely - although tonight he said he had a shock while driving home as he suddenly realised that we have a 7yr old (DS1 was 7 yesterday!).

MarsLady · 17/09/2007 22:46

I've only gone and done it again!

So I have a French exam on Wednesday (done no work). 2 essays due next week. 2 clients due any day and a third client who has decided to lose her mucus plug early! Just when I was easing them all back! Sigh.................

Also.... could you pray for God's provision please? Had a few minor/major emergencies that ended up with major expenditure......... but I still have my ordinary expenditure to deal with and currently can't see a way forward. Thanks!

Also......... we have a new Vicar coming and he sounds lovely. Please pray that he feels welcome and that he brings joy and new life to our church. Talking of which our Youth Minister is leaving. Please pray that we get a dynamic new one who the kids take to and that the transition will be painless.

Ta all!

MarsLady · 17/09/2007 22:47

Happy Birthday PandaG! 42 21 again!

PandaG · 18/09/2007 07:52

Oy Mars - I'm only 36!!!!

will pray for your busyness, and provision for you, and that your ladies pop in time so that you can tend to all of them and do your exam too!

ROFL at privy key Mary , glad that you have been given a different [!] perspective on your current tutor - I remember doing History A level, had 2 tutuors, one for English hist and one for European, I put the same amount of effort into the work for both tutors, and got markedly different results, the Eng hist tutor hated my essay style, yet the Euro hist like it and gave me good marks - semed to me that the more effort I put into Eng hist, the lower the mark I got!

Please pray for me, the evening didin't turn out the way I expected last night, and as a result I barely slept, can hardly function right now and am feeling very sad. I know it will pass, and in the grand scheme of things is not very serious but just feel very crappy. GTRying to be mature and Christian and adult but TBH I just want a damn good sulk!

CaptainDippy · 18/09/2007 08:24

{{{{{{{{PandaG}}}}} Praying. xxxx

Praying here, Mars - bloomin' typical, eh!!? Trust in God, He will nto let you down hon. Praying your new Vicar settles in quickly and feels comfortable and excited .....

QofQ - Sigh .... typical ..... praying you get over the cold soon, hon! @ your 7 yr old - I can bearly get over the fact DD1 will be 4 soonish!

CaptainDippy · 18/09/2007 08:30

Ooooh, quick "Toilet Prayer" before I nip in the shower ......

"Set before our minds & hearts, O Heavenly Father, the example of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, when He was upon earth, found his refreshment in doing the Will of Him that sent Him, and in finishing His work. When many are coming & going, and there is little lesuire, give us Grace to remember Him who knew neither impatience of Spirit nor confusion of work, but in the midst of all His labours held Communion with thee, and even upon earth was still in Heaven; where now He reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit world without end."

Charles Vaughan, 1816 - 97

Good one for busy mummies, I think!

CaptainCaveman · 18/09/2007 09:19

Good morning ladies and a belated Happy Birthday to you Panda, am sorry your evening didn't work out how you wanted. Do you feel better after a little sulk - I always do .

Praying for you and your ladies Mars and for your exam too. The Lord knows his plans for you and the expectant ladies, praying with excitement to see how it pans out. Good luck for your exam too (how do you fit all this stuff in btw!?).

Dreamt I did a pg test last night that was positive.....am now becoming obsessed.
Lord help me to chill out and relax, and be patient until the weekend. So girls, if AF due this sat, how soon would you test?

mufti · 18/09/2007 09:20

me, i'd test friday

CaptainCaveman · 18/09/2007 09:28

Tempted Mufti, I really am! Some test can detect 3 days before AF due.....and just read another poster who got BFP 4 days before. This is crazy, am probably not pg anyway!!!!!

mufti · 18/09/2007 09:32

but it is possible?

DutchOma · 18/09/2007 09:33

Well, anyway Mary, that was a huge bit of encouragement from your previous tutor. I'm praying for grace for you to make this into a stepping stone, rather than a stumbling block. God loves this man as much as He loves all of us and "love never fails".
Obviously a bit of double entendre in your "privy key".

PandaG, hope you feel better after the sulk.

CC, praying for bean, existent or not (yet). Funny to think that God knows that little person, whether it is still in Heaven or already in your tummy, He knows all about it and sees it as the completed perfect project within His will. We, in our time, were not supposed to test after missing the second period. Now that dates me.
Best of luck.
Mars, praying for you and all your busyness. And for your ladies.

Love and blessings to all.

CC - OOOOH! so excited for you, I had pregnancy symptoms 3 days after the IVF implant, ok was twins so very strong sickness, Oh and I did a pregnancy test 3 days earlier than I was supposed to. Good luck, and try to relax, I know thats hard, does DH know about this earlier than expected might be pregnancy? and well done on your 77% clever little sausage you!

Panda - Sorry, belated happy birthday, prayers for your 'sulk' {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}

Mary - well done Egghead, I'm usually at work at 6.00pm but I'm sure if you let us know when your on, I'll set the video ooh how exciting.

CD - fab toilet prayers, how are you atm?

Rosey - rofl, trying to see you with 2 bottoms my twins like to prod my belly, they say its like play dough (get to save money not buying playdough)

Enough! Enough!

I have homework to do, took me 2 hours to do 6 questions on Anatomy and physiology yesterday, my brain hurts, this is not natural for me to have input

CaptainCaveman · 18/09/2007 10:51

Hey Sooz we are study buddies! Am cracking on with my next assignment right this minute...(ahem), sort of.
Dh doesn't know yet, seeing as its not planned I figured why worry him unnecessarily?

Mufti, it is a definately possiblity due to timings. Feels weird tho coz I didn't have a clue with ds - came off the pill and had a grand total of 5 AFs in 20 months. Reason I tested was sore boobs

CaptainCaveman · 18/09/2007 10:52

shame on me with that bad grammar "it is a definatley.." . And that ladies is why Word documents have spellcheck built in!

CaptainCaveman · 18/09/2007 10:54

DO thanks for your post, that makes me feel really calm and serene. Isn't God GREAT!!

TheQueenOfQuotes · 18/09/2007 11:11

"So girls, if AF due this sat, how soon would you test?"

I tested 3/4 days before AF with all 3 DS's

CaptainCaveman · 18/09/2007 12:28

Oh you do tempt me QOQ. Right, am off to work now. I'm sorry for monopolising this thread with talk of my breasts and AF habits, just re-read it and its all ME ME ME. Sorry girls, will tone it down a little and stop getting so blimmin hyped up about what may or may not be. It's turning into one of those "am I pg threads"

Thanks for all your support though! Praying for you all, you're a wonderful lot!!

ZipadiSuzy · 18/09/2007 13:32

Prayers for 'Pumpkin' a little girl in Australia who has been abandoned by her father and I think her mummy is missing don't really know much about it, but prayers for her.
