Good morning wise sisters a complete "frost out" here, minus 4, everyithing looks so magical, covered with sparkling dust.
Elphame I am glad you enjoyed the redwoods I was blown away, I couldn't stop the tears from flowing as I walked through the groves of trees, it was like a nature cathedral, majestic and profound, one of the most moving places I have ever visited in my life.
Cities are not for me either, and despite the cool vibe of San Francisco you only have to move a street or two away from the gold covered pavements to see the dark underbelly of the city. Drugs, crime, poverty- it is a city of great contrasts, like any big city.
OH has just left to take DD to work, it's a 30 mile drive but she has a load of luggage with her and would struggle by bus.

When he gets back we are off to a local town, I have to buy supplies, ribbon, candles, herbs, there is also a great charity shop and it is a seaside town, no time for beachcombing today though.
I have to do a bit of work today though. I have closed my Amazon shop for a week or so, my bavklog was becoming too big, and I have to replenish stock and have a pause before the month to come which will be crazy.
The past few years have stressed me out too much, so I am taking a more measured approach.
And this is the beginning of the year of the Queen for me, all about putting my needs in a greater priority.

Have a magical day everyone.

It’s wonderful to hear tales of other places, the majesty of giant trees and the variety of wonders that nature provides across our planet.

I have heard from DS today with further tales of far flung places, Hindu temples, fire and water ceremonies and such diverse wildlife. Makes my heart sing both to hear of it and to hear what he gets from these experiences. Today he is celebrating his birthday and having wished him well, I will honour myself as a mother. I have a candle lit near a picture of myself just before I moved into my mother phase and I am reflecting on the magic of this journey.

speakout I think your year of the Queen sounds inspired. I think us women routinely shoulder such heavy loads and it is a joy to hear of this reclaiming of power. Such strength in stopping to take stock and taking deliberate action to redress the balance.

I found time yesterday whilst the weather was bright to take in the rejuvenating sea air, just what I needed.

I hope everyone can find time this weekend to respond to their own needs.

Beautiful photos YashmisCrone and I am glad to hear that you are honouring yourself. Come join me in the year of the Queen. I am turning to a daily practice of honoring my sovereignty .When the going gets tough we need to increase our self care, and too often it is one of the first things that we let go of.

Ubud is such a magical place, in the heart of Bali, crammed full of beuty, temples, lotus ponds, incense, shrines, hibuscus, tropical birds, luch vegetation. Home to many artists and others seeking inspiration. I am sure your son is having a wonderful time.

I have been doing some research in the past few days about my local town. I knew that hundreds of women were tortured and killed here in the 17th century, but one woman popped up in my facebook feed.
Beatrix was 84 years old, had worked all her life as a midwife, delivered hundreds of babies and was well known for her skill and use of herbs to arrest haemorrhage, and ease the pain of childbirth.
She and 5 other women were arrested, Beatrix was tortured, strangled and eventually burned alive. At the frail age of 84.
Beatrix lived on a steading just half a mile from my home, on the edge of woodland. I have been comparing old maps with current ones and google earth, and although her house is no longer there, I want to take a trip there to see if there are any remnants of her dwelling- perhaps a wall or some other evidence.
I will also take an offering to her and speak through the years to send her comfort and solace for what she endured. To let her know that my thoughts are with her.
An apology for these atrocities is long overdue.

Good afternoon sisters 🙏 After a busy morning, I'm taking some time out to refuel and recharge It's a cold, wet day here, so I'm grateful to be indoors in the warm.

Speakout I love your idea of the year of the queen. When I read your post, I pictured you as the Queen of Wands - feminine, yet brave and styling, one to new opportunities and new ways to weave her magic ❤️

Yashmis sending birthday wishes to your DS. What an amazing experience he is having. I always go through a rollercoaster of emotions on my DC birthday - joy, pride, love, a little nostalgic... I will light a candle for you at 8, one mother to another.

Elphame it's great to hear from you. How exciting to be in San Francisco! I would love to see the Redwoods and the cable over Palm Springs sounds amazing.

speakout · 09/11/2019 13:43

VioletCharlotte thank you. What a beautiful image you have of me as the queen of wands.

I have just picked a Tarot card for myself - 10 of Wands, which makes perfect sense to me- I can choose which burdens to carry.
The ten of wands shows me the route that I need to take in order to realise that regal status.

And a message to us all perhaps- we overburden ourselves emotionally. And it's OK to let go and not always carry that burden for others.
It doesn't always help them, in fact it may even disempower them, and it certainly doesn't help us.
So I will sit back on my throne for a while , tend my own garden and let the world spin without me!

Thank you Violet that is so kind 🙏💜

speakout reading about Beatrix gave me shivers. I think your plan to honour her is profoundly beautiful.
Also such wisdom regarding how we chose to carry our loads, and indeed, what we chose to carry. Your year of the Queen is such a wonderful idea. Thank you, I’m in! 👸

speakout · 09/11/2019 17:27

Thank you YashmisCrone, and a lovely idea from Violet I will join in raising energy and love on your son's birthday at 8pm.
Birthdays are about mothers too, we often have an acute memory of such a significant day, with all the pain, trauma and joy.So my candle is for you too YashmisCrone to mark and celebrate that hugely significant day and the life you brought forth.

Women empowering each other is so beautiful, to rejoice and share, it is a place I love.

Good morning magical friends. A chilly start here again, but each season has its own beauty- even grey overcast days have a tone and a mood of their own.
A very quick trip to Ikea this morning ( I go in the exit door) then I am off to visit the site of Beatrix's home. I have some late blooms in my garden that I will take for her and maybe take some photographs.
We should not forget, this is my day of remembrance.

OP posts:
YashmisCrone · 10/11/2019 09:21

Such beautiful pictures and words from last night’s 8 connection Violet and speakout, thank you again, I felt bathed in love and very connected 🙏

speakout in the exit door at Ikea is a top tip! Made me smile as I have done the same.

Your day of remembrance is such a powerful piece of work to honour our sisters throughout time and stand against the atrocities they endured. The work of the goddess. I have a candle lit in solidarity and am reflecting on sending love and comfort back through time.

Wishing everyone a blessed day 💫

VioletCharlotte · 10/11/2019 09:24

Speakout I missed your post about Beatrix yesterday (think we crossed posts). What a tragic story. To think this happened just a mile from where you live now. I love that you are honouring her memory. I will light a candle for her, and all the other women who were killed at 8pm.

After yesterday's torrential rain, today brings sunshine. I'm taking DS2 to a university one day so will be good to have some time with him. On the way home we're passing the city where DS1 is so will call in and see him. Very much looking forward to giving him a hug!

I hope you all have a peaceful Sunday 🙏

speakout · 10/11/2019 11:03

Just back from Beatrix's home. No house standing, but the area is defined and low broken walls show a property once stood on the land. There is a well too. It is overgrown with woodland, but a very calm serene and gentle place, as I imagine Beatrix must have been. There are horses in the ajoining field, so her spirit is not alone. I spoke to her as I wandered over the site, and told her that I was aware of her suffering and how badly she was treated. I hope that acknowleding her suffering has eased her pain a little.

OP posts:
YashmisCrone · 10/11/2019 15:35

I love it that you did that speakout and thank you for sharing your description and photos of the site of Beatrix’s home. It does feel comforting that there are horses nearby. When I look at the pictures I feel calm and connected to the earth. In the tree I see a figure of a woman, arms stretched upwards. The yellow flower looks like a beautiful offering.
I feel sure you brought her spirit some comfort and I will join Violet at 8pm with a candle to honour Beatrix and the other women who were killed.

Violet I hope your day is going well, wishing you love as you spend precious time with your boys 💖

SunsetBoulevard3 · 10/11/2019 16:09

That description of Beatrix has really made me so sad. Thank you so much for the photos and your account of trying to find her house. Really awful to think of that poor elderly woman and what was done to her along with so many other.

speakout · 10/11/2019 17:40

Thank you all. I see the woman in the tree too- perhaps some of Beatrix's energy is tied up in the ground here. It felt such a peaceful place, I will re visit- I had to leave early as I had to take my mother to church. Something quite ironic there.
It felt a good thing to do on remembrance Sunday, I didn't plan it that way, but interesting how it worked out.
