There is so much to catch up on but as this is just a tea break before heading out, I'll have to (try to) keep it short. (Ha ha! That'll be the day!
)
Firstly, hello and welcome to Cindetellaaaa Glad to see that you too have stepped out of lurkdom into the kitchen! Look forward to getting to know you.
Thanks for the link to the Laura Daligan video, VoiletCharlotte, I really enjoyed watching it.
Most of what she says is, when you come to think about it, just plain common sense and what we should all be taught to do to keep us healthy and happy and fully functioning humans, not just cogs in a system. Why is that not the case, I wonder? Or did I just answer my own question?!
Some of the points actually brought tears to my eyes. I'm going to watch it again and make a note of the 22 points and look forward to discovering more of her work.
It was interesting what you wrote about not thinking of yourself as a witch before discovering this thread. If witch = untamed, authentic woman who is conscious of her own power, well then I am well on my way to becoming one!
Hope you enjoy the rest of your day with your DS.
And as we love examples of synchronicity here, while I was shopping for school supplies yesterday, so before I'd seen your post with the link to the 22 ways to be wild and witchy, I decided on a whim to to buy a small pack of modeling clay - which I have never, ever done before. So when I watched the video and Laura suggested expressing our creativity and trying something we've never done before, I knew why I had put it in my basket. I spent a lovely couple of hours yesterday evening messing around with it, much to my DCs' amusement, and made myself a goddess and a hare ...which my younger DS tells me looks like a cross between a walrus and a T-Rex! Never mind, they are for my eyes only and will now live on my tallboy next to my candle.
YasmisCrone- I think that's precisely it: women in union are a powerful force. I think a change is coming though. We are waking up, one by one, and taking back that power!
Thank you for posting the link
I had a giggle at your laundry getting a second washing. At least it didn't get blown away!
speakout - glad you finally woke up rested and raring to go!
Ogress - I love your perspective on fitting the chores and obligations in around the things you want to do that bring you joy. For so long I did the opposite and tended to give too much time and mental energy to work. The shift in perspective has been so liberating.
InTheTempest - I'm not surprised you were out like a light after your day either! Children's birthday parties are such fun though, aren'they? I actually quite miss them now that mine are teenagers, but having a family meal out to celebrate (which is what they tend to prefer now) is nice too.
I know what you mean about the weather which seems to be stuck on rainy and/or stormy. The patches of sunshine and blue sky are welcome but too short here. I am aching to get out in the garden to get digging but the ground is soaked through. I'm off out to the garden centre to get a green fix and some inspiration.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, wild and witchy ones!
