A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

@speakout @InTheTempest I quite agree, and beautifully put. And then when we know we don’t have to aim for perfection, it somehow becomes easier to aim a little higher anyway...

Today I am a coughing snot monster looking after two small coughing snot monsters. Not my most ravishing goddessy day 🤣 but I will try to keep my queenly countenance...

Doesn’t help that my heart is breaking for the sad day in history that this is. JK Rowling has it right: we are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.

Imbolc change is in the air, no choice but to move forward now. Into what? I am staying off the news today. Instead, I choose daffodils.

InTheTempest and adjsavedmylife seems we are all buying daffodils today.

adjsavedmylife interestingly I have decided to have a "no news" day today".
I was driving to yoga at 7am this morning, caugh the tail end of the news, and tuned into some uplifting music. I actually said out loud " No news today".

Too many horrors going on in the world right now, our own energy can become swamped. Nurturing ourselves can sometimes mean building barriers for self protection.
I may go out to pick a few snowdrops today if the sun pops out my forest is completely carpeted, literally millions , the whole of the woodland floor is white, it looks like a carpet of snow.

Good evening sisters

I'm loving the Imbolc energy. I can feel the shift - all of a sudden, despite a busy week, I've got more energy. I feel ready to come out of hibernation and I'm starting to look outside the home again, making plans and looking forward to getting out and about.

I bought a gorgeous candle today from Aldi - Lime, Basil and Mandarin. The house smells divine ❤️

Speakout I've not seen any snowdrops yet, but I'm planning a forest walk tomorrow so maybe I'll se some.

Asjsavedmylife beautiful flower arrangement. My daffodils aren't quite open yet.

speakout · 31/01/2020 21:11

VioletCharlotte so good to see your message- I was just finishing my tea before a shower then bed. I love ALDI, thanks for the tip off about the candle- I bought some tea lights there last year and the fragrance was lovely.
I am glad you feel more energetic, I feel it too, and ending the week in a better place than it started,
Just having a quiet evening, OH is working until 2am, DD is busy won't be back until Sunday, I am enjoying the silence in the house.

I’m loving this talk of the glorious, real, gritty, strong divine feminine we celebrate and embody as pagans/witches. Very much enjoyed the idea of inviting poor purified Mary to sit with us a while, ruffle her feathers a bit Crown Smile

The energy is shifting and the observations of new growth and life pushing through are lifting my heart.

Away from home, I did a deep clean before I left and look forward to some planting rituals when I’m back.

I hope everyone can carve out a few moments to celebrate what is growing within as well as all around us this weekend.

Bright blessings sisters x

Off to the gym for a body pump class, then hoping to get out to the first this afternoon.

Love to you all ❤️

Hello all. Not a complete newbie, as I often popped by a few threads back, however it's been such a long time since I joined you round the aga. But even after a long absence the sense of solidarity and inspiration returns the minute I do pop back. Imbolc blessings to you all. I'm excited for the promise of Spring and new beginnings.

As we move towards nightfall I feel such blessings today.

I have been out with DS who is inspired to cook a ( complicated) meal for the family tonight, so we have been shopping and cooking together.
Food is simmering and been very enjoyable, I love showing how to sharpen a knife, finely dice a carrot, and to quickly arrest some browning onion in danger of burning with a small amount of water.
The food is Italian and DS thought it appropriate to play some appropriate music as we cooked.

The skies have blackened, and we now have a torrential downpour, torrents of soft water throwing down from the sky, battering the windows. So comforting!!

It's great that your DS likes cooking, neither of mine show any interest at all. To be fair, I was the same at their age. I hope you all enjoyed the meal.

Fitzfool
It's good to see you again 😊

I had a lovely walk in the forest this afternoon. I was so pleased to find some snowdrops, the first I've seen this year.

VioletCharlotte

I love that photograph!.
And yes you are right, cooking skills can develop at any age.

Just about to eat, DD back home soon too, rain is still beating on the windows!!

Speakout hope you enjoyed eating your meal together as much as you enjoyed the process.
Violet beautiful snowdrops!
I also spent the afternoon in the woods, with my DC.
It was the most gorgeous, bright, blue-skyed afternoon, that beautiful sunlight that bounces off the bare tree trunks and makes them glow.
And the first time this year the sunshine felt warm, just a little whisper of heat across the shoulders. The kids took their coats off.
That first little taste of the warmth to come, as well as the light to come, is such a treat. Felt like a lovely start to Imbolc.

rivierliedje · 01/02/2020 21:53

I was halfway up a mountain today and it was beautifully sunny and raining a bit further down. So we had a gorgeous rainbow over the wonderful woods, field and snowdrops.

Hope everyone else had a lovely day.

speakout · 02/02/2020 06:50

It has been very warmin to hear of everyone's Imbolc activities. I had a lovely day too. I am up early so I can take my time to ge ready for my yoga workshop today. It starts at 9.30, held in an historic house in a pretty coastal town overlooking the sea. It should be an uplifting morning. It is a gift to myself!
I hope this nurturing Imbolc energy continues to lift and sustain everyone today.

So wonderful to read of everyone’s imbolc activities and and feel the collective expansive growth energy. The crackle is palpable Crown Smile

I enjoyed a glorious sunset as I drove over fenland yesterday - such beautiful big skies. Also spent some time in self nurture and painted my toenails green- symbolic of growth! I love how there’s always a way to weave in ritual and symbolism whatever else we’re doing. Slept like a queen and whilst I have a busy day ahead with family commitments, I plan on more self nurture this evening.

Wishing everyone a boost of fiery Brigid energy today- there’s growth ahead 🔥 🌱

VioletCharlotte · 02/02/2020 09:37

I'm loving the energy here too... the goddesses within are awakening!

Yashmis bright green toenails sound fab! What a great way to mark the beginning of spring.

Speakout I hope you enjoy your yoga workshop, the venue sounds amazing.

Rivierliedje your walk yesterday sounds fabulous, I can picture the view from the mountains.

I was up and about early this morning. Ive been for a swim and sauna and I'm just enjoying a coffee before heading home. I need to do some cleaning and washing, so I'll put some music on and light some candles while I work. Later this afternoon I'm seeing a friend who has asked me for a tarot reading.

Love to you all for a blessed Sunday ❤️

speakout · 03/02/2020 06:42

Good morning, The Imbolc energy continues to lift us, just about to start my day.
My yoga workshop was amazing yesterday, lots of facia work ( a fascinating subject) and long yoga Nidra.
Found out that the venue was once owned by David Seton who was the man responsible for starting the witch trials in the UK, a mix of feelings being in such a place, but I don't think he would have liked seeing women whipping up a cone of power in his house ha ha!!
I am giving myself the morning off my usual Monday yoga, I have to catch up with things here.

Another stormy day, I have hear the wind howling through the trees, and rain battering against my window.

Wishing everyone a good start to the week.

VioletCharlotte · 03/02/2020 21:35

Speakout your workshop sounds good, I've done some facts work, it's so interesting. It's something I'd like to study in a lot more depth one day. What sort of feel did you get from the venue? Loving the thought of David Seton's fury at his house being used in that way!

Busy day at work, but all pretty positive. I've been to yoga tonight, we did a special meditation in honour of Bridgid. There's been a real shift in the energy, spring is most definitely in the air.

speakout · 04/02/2020 11:58

The most beautiful spring day here, sun is bright, blue sky, birds very noisy!!
It's the kind of day that I notice my house is dusty and windows need cleaning!! A bit too busy for that today though.
VioletCharlotte how lovely that you did a meditation to honour Brigit.

David Seton's house was old, very cold and interesting, I didn't have too much time to explore as we were occupied with the workshop. The yoga was held in a garden room extension, so the energy there did feel light and bright.
I will go back to the house and do a bit of an explore- can't stop thinking about my facia though!! An eye opener.
I had a lovely meal out with my DS last night, really enjoyable, lingering over tea at the end and sharing a dessert. Lots of bright smiles and laughter.
I hope everyone has a light, bright day.

Good evening all, it's a nippy night here so I've settled down early and got a cosy spot by the fire to catch up on all your lovely posts.
I went away with the family last week on our annual ski trip. The contrasting and changing weather and the mountain views were so refreshing, just what I needed after a rocky start to the year. It's strange to think that I had to go to the top of a mountain to finally feel grounded!
I spent Imbolc travelling home so haven't managed to celebrate it specifically this year, but like many of you I have noticed that the daylight is managing to hold on that little bit longer at the end of the day and the buds are beginning to push their way towards the sun. This reflects my personal battle over the past month in feeling slightly suffocated and I now have found some peace in the realisation that this was just a phase and I'm emerging to find better and brighter things are coming my way.
I will light a candle this evening and send wishes that all my fellow queens / goddesses can feel the comforting glow of the sun emerging over the coming weeks too.

Ogress · 05/02/2020 07:10

I've also felt such a change following Imbolc: there are the first brave flowers here and there, and big juicy buds everywhere else. I walk home in sunsets and twilight rather than darkness. And I'm getting woken up by birdsong in the mornings. It's beautiful.

speakout · 05/02/2020 15:30

Ogress me too. A very bright, light energy.

For me Imbolc is a phase, a shift. Some Sabbats and festivals feel more of a fixed point- A solstice for instance, or the point of a full moon, but the change that is Imbolc isn't so easy to pin down. Of course the energy now grows for months to come, with Ostara to look forward to.

Just back from the post office, having a sit down before thinking about dinner.
