I have just got a slow cooker and am looking for some recipes, so thank you Speakout for the Biriyani recipe. Yashmis I would love your butter bean recipe! I have been thinking of butterbeans oddly enough!

speakout · 28/11/2019 08:07

Loving the butter bean talk in here- one of my favourire pulses. My mind is slowly turning towards christmas, I sat for a while and did some online ordering, but ended up bying as much for myself as for others- including a pendulum and a set of dowsing rods! So shopping not progessing as well as I would like.
DD really wants a puppy, but I have to stand strong. I love dogs- have owed several in my life- but I do so much caring for others right now that I really don't want another burden, Plus DD intends to move out again for her next ( and final) at uni, will be a city flat, so leaving the dog here. Once she graduates and starts work then she may not be living back here and probably won't take the dog.
So it has to be a no- which is hard!
Not feeling the christmas vibe right now, but hopefully the next week or two will see the sparkles start!

Good work with the shopping speakout, wise woman waters her own garden first Halloween Grin

That must have been tough about the dog, I know you love them too but as you say they are a big commitment and you have more than enough of those on your plate. Wise decision I think.

I’m not feeling the sparkle yet either but look forward to some time off for roots strengthening work. Last year’s served me well.

SunsetBoulevard3 the crumble I made was a variation on this, I like the crunchy topping and used just smoked paprika as I didn’t have any cayenne. Works well with any veg in it but watch the liquid levels as if it’s too wet it’ll soak up that lovely crunchy crumble

www.vegetarianrecipesmag.com/vegetarian-recipes/vegetable-bean-crumble/?native_client=1

I had it with some of this on the side which would also go really well with a roast www.theppk.com/2016/10/green-bean-casserole/

Not had breakfast yet and I’m thinking about roast dinners! Comforting hearty food is definitely something I’m enjoying about the season!

Busy time at work atm as I’m sure it is for many of us. All the more important to don the crown and robes and take moments to weave in magic as we go. A reminder for myself today 💫

Just wanted to share a calm moment before I go to bed.

An overly hectic day, taxi service for the whole family, laundry, cooking, trying to fit in not insubstantial work.
Still not shaken off this bug, feeling under the weather- although did recieve some witchy items I ordered for myself yesterday when I should have been shopping for other people- and I am delighted with them!
Just having a calming peppermint tea before an early night, and hoping everone has a restful sleep.

rivierliedje · 29/11/2019 08:03

Delicious looking recipes! I love pulses, they are so warming somehow.

I feel a bit detached from nature at the moment as I spend most of the daylight hours in work and even when I can take a short walk during my lunch break it is very short because I also need to eat in my half hour, sometimes my work encroaches on the half hour and it's in town, so there really isn't much green to speak of.

Normally I'm not a horrible winter person, but I'm having trouble connecting at the moment. I have an advent candle, so hope that will make me stop and sit with the candle every night soon.

speakout · 29/11/2019 08:18

rivierliedje I love pulses too.

Sorry you are having trouble connecting, it is hard working indoors during the winter months.
I remember having a job working in underground laboratories, with no windows, it was dark going to work and dark when I left. I remember missing daylight so much.
Try to bring some nature indoors ( our ancestors understood e power of the evergreen tree) buy ourself a plant, some flowers, leave some crystals to charge on a sunny windowledge and carry them with you. Your idea of burning a candle in the evening is a good one, I usually have 3 or 4 candles burning when things are feeling dark and gloomy. Try some laundry magic- if possible on a day off hang your clothes outside to at least partly dry. They will absorb the energies of light and air. Even hang out your coat without washing- to "freshen" it, ( our ancestors understood this) when you wear it again you will be wearing that sunshine.
Remember the power of the moon and stars, the night sky is available to us all, and even a few minutes moonbathing or soaking up the star light will energise you.

I understand how you feel Rivier. I used to work in a ground floor office everyday, where the blinds were always kept shut to stop the reflection on the screen. I found the lack of daylight in the winter hard to deal with and it made me quite low. I've got a daylight lamp that I use on my desk, I find that does help a bit, so that could be worth considering.

Some great ideas from Speakout, I particularly love the idea of moon bathing ❤️

I've take the day off work today for Christmas shopping. It's such a beautiful, bright day though, I've decided to forgo the shops and do it online while I drink my coffee.

I battle with my conscience when it comes to Amazon. I don't agree with their ethos and would much prefer to shop locally, but the reality is that I can get everything I need easily and conveniently online. I know if I go into town I would end up frustrated at not being able to find what I need and hot and bothered by the crowds.

Anyway, most of the shopping is done so I'm going to make the most of the time I've saved and enjoy a long walk in the forest.

VioletCharlotte · 29/11/2019 11:22

Speakout would you mind posting the link you shared a while back for the aromatherapy oils on eBay? I want to order som but can't seem to find it 🙏

Big links -

I've been told on another board that if you delete everything after the ? it should still work and that the rest is not necessary, it's just cookies, tracking stuff etc.

I'll try it

rivierliedje · 29/11/2019 20:06

Thanks Speakout, those are some really helpful suggestions.
I'm working tomorrow, but hopefully will have a moment to do laundry on Sunday. I might see about cycling in tomorrow, for a bit of daylight.
I got off the train a stop earlier this evening, just to have a bit of a longer/greener walk. It was still dark, but was very nice. Plus I have made a nice stew which is very warming.

I think making bread, cheese and having a laundry day are in order this weekend.

I need a love spell

BlankTimes · 29/11/2019 20:38

I need a love spell

No, you don't.

Imagine if the man you want to attract is not what he seems, you put the attraction in place and you're landed with an undesirable person who is obsessed with you.

That's why the advice is always don't do it for yourself and don't do it for other people.

JolieOBrien · 29/11/2019 20:40

@BlankTimes

I already have that ... I just want one for my husband who I hardly see.

BlankTimes · 29/11/2019 20:53

Then I think the relationships board could help.

You need to sit and talk to your husband, , state what you need, he does the same, you both compromise or not and it works or it doesn't. You don't need spells to do that, just patience and common sense.

speakout · 30/11/2019 05:20

I think the best love spell is a heart opener.. That means you are willing to recieve love, but open to love coming to you in a way that will most benefit you.
For many of us that is self love- the best place to start.

Good morning sisters.
A very frosty start here- minus 6 at the moment- I don't think I will be moving far today- a short trip to get some provisions, but otherwise a day of cristmas shopping online!
Just ordered myself some festive cushion covers,, I keep buying myself things- most unlike me!
I have been watching some you tube videos about ice candle making, looking forward to starting this again.
Last year I learned a lot, so hopefully room for some more creativity again this year.
Otherwise today is a day of candle making- a nice warm task!!

OP posts:
YashmisCrone · 30/11/2019 10:50

Wow speakout, -6! Halloween Shock we haven’t hit minus figures down this way so it’s positively tropical in comparison! You could be making ice candles sooner than you thought..

I love to hear of you treating yourself like that. Another way to honour your regal self. Perfect 👑

I agree with self love being the most important thing speakout. It can feel out of reach when we’re overwhelmed or sad but always worth the effort to take whatever steps we can towards nurturing ourselves, over time it does shift our energy. Your post made me think of these ideas from a book I was looking at the other day. (Titania’s white magic, I struggle with the ‘white’ magic term but that’s another debate. Otherwise it contains some nice ideas for everyday magic) I’m due an oak bath I think!

Im also looking forward to trying ice candle making again this year, sharing ideas, learning together. Very enjoyable last year!

I’m thinking of making some bath salts for family members for Christmas. I can’t afford much but it’s a token and sharing of energy and intention. I like the process of intuitively choosing oils for each person. Any other simple homemade gifts ideas very much appreciated. Smile

A morning of work for me and a Xmas fayre later. Like many of us at this time of year I’ve been overloaded recently but the love and support of a dear friend has helped me feel valid and accepted right where I am. This in turn lightens my load and gives me the boost I need to shift some of what has been worrying me. Thank goddess for our sisters 💖

I have a candle lit in gratitude for the strength of women supporting each other, a decent coffee in my cup and am enjoying the warmth of my home. I hope everyone is keeping warm and able to take some time to honour themselves today 💫

I am also sitting with a coffee right now, thanks for posting the Titania spells. I am sure I have a coupld of books of hers somewhere- some really nice simple ideas and spells as I remember- the books with the velvet covers.
Spells can be found is all sorts of places. I like to write my own mostly, but I am happy to borrow a few meaningful lines from any source, or adapt a spell to suit my own needs.
Years ago my spells used to be quite complicated, salt circles, honouring beseeching the compass points. A working would take weeks to work up to- sourcing ingredients and planning timings etc. Effective, but a really serious big event.Nowadays my spellwork and magical practice is much simpler- but also far more frequent- several times a day in fact, but often just a few seconds to note an intention or give thanks.

I am so glad you are feeling supported YashmisCrone. Flowers

OP posts:
YashmisCrone · 30/11/2019 11:35

Thank you speakout 😘🙏

I agree on the spell work. In many ways I enjoyed those early days of serious prep and more complex rituals. Once in a while I still do. But mostly, like you, i haphazardly weave magic and ritual throughout the day, little and often. Harnessing the energy on offer rather than spending time calculating precise timings and correspondences feels filled with more flow which of course is a key ingredient of any working.

I think it was you who compared it to learning to cook before. Once you’ve learned the basics you create your own signature recipes, imbued with your own energy. If an ingredient feels right then it is, if it feels like the right time then it is. The magic resides in us 💫

speakout · 30/11/2019 16:39

Such a short day here- sunset before 4pm, beginning to feel the depths of the darkness now.
Temperatures reached a dizzy height of minus one today, and starting to drop down again.
An evening of candles, warm food and cozy throws ahead!
YashmisCrone so interesting to hear of your journey of spellwork and magic, it seems to mirror mine.
I did a lot of "small workings" as a child-taught to me by my grandmother, but as an early adult moved into ceremonial and ritualistic magic, worked with some groups, and developed my craft alone too. It was powerful, for sure, but no more than my daily " mundane" magic is.
Now more of a woven integrated energy into my every day tasks, which are just as stong symbolic, magical and ritualistic.
Opening windows, letting in light and air, planting seeds, kissing a loved one, stroking an animal, listening with an open heart, stirring love into food. All these things are very powerful and meaningful.
The magic resides in us 💫 Absolutely.
