CaptainDippy · 06/08/2007 10:40

Hello! DD1 at nursery and other 2 safely tucked up in bed, so just thought I would do a summary and start a new thread!

MaryBS - A customer (K) from Mary's would like prayers for her mother. Prayers for friend from another thread who has recently lost her DH. Prayers for N who is in hospital with ear infection, has just undergone an operation. Prayers for DH who is possibly going to be promoted at work ..... !?

RoseyLea - Has been very poorly with nasty chest infection - prayers that she would recover 100% asap - Praise God for how wonderful and understanding her DC's are being! Prayers for her bro who has been made redundant and is seeking new employment.

mumtogusandalbie - Is back!!!! Prayers for her as she deals with panic and anxiety - put caring, supportive people around her, Lord.

CaptainCaveman - Prayers for friends who recently found out they had lost their baby at the 12 week scan. On-going prayers for her alcoholic Dsis and Dniece, saw HV the other day (how did it go??) Prayers for CC as she copes with anxiety on the "mad-pills"

OnlyJoking - DH has MS and Brain Tumour - underwent surgery yesterday, waiting for news - keep praying ......

Sooz - Computer is broken, but is getting a new one from a nice lady at the library soon - Praise the Lord!!

BedofRosesitAint - Is going to be away for 3 weeks - don't forget her! Things are going much better for her!

QQQ - Things are going well between her and DH. Prayers for her as she struggles with the decision between letting her boys go to rugby or church on a Sun morning come Sept. Prayers for finances as they are v.tight this month.

notsofarnow - Is back!! Prayers for her as health is not good right now - eye infection & stomach bug. Praise God she is getting back into a "helm" position at church! Prayers for her as she copes with a new sort of relationship with her husband.

Podglet - Hello and Welcome! Prayers for her as she has a lot going on right now - Her DGran is in final stage cancer and she would also like prayers for a friend who is in the throes of a break-up from her DH after years of lying and cheating. Prayers for her as she "finds more faith"!

NotQuiteGrownUp - Prayers for DS1 who is grumpy and struggling with the new routine of being on hols and not at school. Prayers for a wonderful time as their family head off on hols for 2 weeks!

Worzella - Prayers for her as she struggles with each day....

CaptainDippy - DH starts new job on Mon 13th Aug - prayers for her as she is feeling v.anxious about the new routine that this will mean.

Prayers for Misdee, Peter and Girls as they wait to see if Peter can have a new heart ......

Prayers for those affected by this new outbreak of Foot and Mouth.

Prayers and Praise for all of these things and for those not mentioned too - esp DutchOma who is such a wonderful and special person to have on this thread, bringing her strength, humour and wisdom to all those with requests etc

Thanks - as you can see - DH is totally smitten with the 3rd child he definitely did't want

DutchOma · 15/08/2007 12:29

QoQ Wonderful pictures, such a sweet baby.
CD How is dh's job going, sorry if you've already posted and I've missed it.
Praying for strength and a good time with your Dad, mine always was late turning up everywhere, didn't stop him being the most wonderful generous person though.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 15/08/2007 19:33

hmmm yes - very sweet when he's now decided to go down to sleep 1/2hr early.....don't know if this is his "pre bed nap" - or down for the next 4-6hrs one.....so he's in his cot just incase.......DH won't be too chuffed as going down early means that he (DH) will almost certaily have to get up circa 2-3am with him - whereas going down at 8pm he sometimes scrapes through until 4am (where I take over LOL).

PandaG · 15/08/2007 19:36

Praying for all those who need God's gentle, loving, healing touch. May he reach out and lay his blessings on all those in need - especially Steve and OJ

Hi Katz, welcome back! Baby times are always exciting times!

I heard that N.'s operation yesterday was successful, and the paralysis (Bell's palsy) in her face has gone. Please keep her in your prayers though as she has still to get rid of the bug she has, and will need a further op. to close up her ear. She is pleased though, they are letting her come home this w/e! Thank God!

QoQ - great pix! Glad DH has been won round! How are things between you now?

Panda - glad you've sorted things with your DH! {hugs}

CaptainDippy · 16/08/2007 08:47

OP posts:
PandaG · 16/08/2007 10:08

continuing to pray for Piter and Misdee and family , and also for OJ, Steve and family .

Well done to P for such a long sleep - hope you are feeling more rested CD?

Welcome back Katz, glad you are home safe

continuing to pray for N Mary.

Worz and I went to a friend's house last night, a bunch of women together to wait on God and pray for each other - had some encouraging words given to me . Glad to have sorted out some personal stuff with DH, but I know there are going to be more difficult discussions as we work through what I am going to do work wise. I do not want to be bound by fear, however abstract.

CaptainDippy · 16/08/2007 11:24

More rested!!!!? Ha! Ha! DD1 was up at 5.30am .......

Hey Ho!

All asleep now though!! Normal for DD's 2 & 3; but DD1 was soooo tired after the stupidly early morning, she has gone off in the pram in the garden - yey!

Glad things are feeling better, Panda - walking DD1 round the garden in the pram for a while gave me a nice chance to prayer for you guys (as many as I could remember!!!) for some reason I was reminded of "Jacob Wrestling" in the OT:

"I won't let go til you Bless me."

Think that was for Panda and for rosey - Please let me know if that speaks to you.....

OP posts:
DutchOma · 16/08/2007 11:41

Big pram CD?

CaptainDippy · 16/08/2007 11:57

No just an ordinary Maclaren pushchair thingy ...... DD1 is only 3.5yrs, bless her - gets tired very easily!

She's awake now, so need to go and give her a cuddle ....

OP posts:
Roseylea · 16/08/2007 13:21

Hello all!

Wonderful news about Peter. Praying for him and all the family.

OJ how are you? How's Steve? I am praying for you.

Panda I'm glad that you and dh are having a good sort-out. We are doing much the same tbh, and it is so good to work through issues together and work together towards what is best. Not easy sometimes tho, esp. when it means re-defining things (as it does in our case). And that sounds like a very encouraging evening with your friends. Hold onto those words!

CD "I will not go until you bless me" - you know, over the last yr I've had a real sense of me "wrestling with God" and a while ago I realised that this is exactly what He wants us to do - not just to pay lip-service to Him, but really to grapple with who God is.

And I'm not the only one! Dd has been testing my theological explaining capabilities lately. She asked yesterday "What is the purpose of children?" and "Mummy, sometimes people are born with bits of their bodies put on wrong. God sometimes makes mistakes when he puts bodies together, doesn't He mummy?" Over to you, ladies! Answers on a postcard please!!! Needless to say I have a very thoughtful five-yr-old on my hands!

So, FIL is getting married on Sat - please pray for all of us, esp. dh as he sees his dad start a new phase of his life. As I've said before, it was only 2 yrs ago that MIL died v. suddenly (collapsed out of the blue and died a day later in hospital ) and also very young (still in her 50s) so dh has had a real adjustment and is still grieving for her. FIL's finacee is lovely; we couldn't be more thrilled, but there is quite a tinge of sadness still around. New MIL-to-be has offered to look after the dc so that dh and I can have a weekend away together in the autumn! Fab fab fab! (Not the only reason I like her, of course!)

DutchOma · 16/08/2007 14:43

Oh Rosey, how often don't we think God makes mistakes How often does He smile on us, like you smile over dd and say:"It will be alright sweetheart, someone is in control".
People with 'bits put on the wrong way round' give us a chance to care and sometimes we just have to say "God I don't know what You're up to, but I trust you to do the right thing..for all of us". And sometimes we have to acknowledge that we have all made wrong choices from Adam and Eve onwards and we live in a fallen world and one day 'all tears will be wiped away' and we will stand in the Glory of God.
All the best for the wedding, glad your fil's new partner is so lovely. I can understand your sadness though.

CaptainDippy · 16/08/2007 15:07

Happy / Sad ocassions are weird. Praying it goes well for you Rosey, sweetie .... Glad things are getting more sroted for you and that the Jacob Wrestling did apply in some strange way .....

Hi DO - Wise words as always sweetie!!

Off for a walk with little P .....
