Good morning and a Happy Lammas and Lughnasadh everyone. I have woken to a very bright cloudless day and the sound of wood pigeons cooing in the trees. Their song is similar to the owls that sing me the lullabye. So many things this week that to catch up on and respond to, just sending love out to everyone.
I absolutely have evening clothes. in fact I have outside and inside clothes- I change my clothes often throughout the day.
I don't like clothes that constrict me at all, and so at home I wear loose cotton, comfy clothes -my favourites are often threadbare and have holes I will often start the day in gym gear, lycra stuff, sports bra etc, but come home and shower/change. Work for a while in my old comfies, but then have to go to the post office/shopping so have to put on my "civvies" to avoid people throwing coins at me in the street.
As soon as I am back I am into my comfies again.
Quite often I have to give a lift later, which can often involve a trip to a shop or Tesco, so I am back in my civvies, but then as soon as that is over it's back to comfies.
So a usual day can see me changing clothes six times Ha ha- writing this down makes me seem very odd!
It is definitely an energy thing for me, possibly related to the laundry magic, I feel clothes absorb so much, protect us in a way and it is to do with boundaries and veils, protection. I always feel the need to wash my hands when I have been out shopping or going places. Not a bad thing to do from a hygiene point of view, but it feels energetic to me. My home is a sacred place. I like to make sure the energy is good and clear.
My mother often has bible studies and prayers with church friends, but luckily I have a large heated conservatory at the back of the house which they use. Once gone I throw open all the windows and doors, smudge and cleanse, it is easy to allow the she to reclaim the space, surrounded by garden , forest and open to air and sun.
Can I ask anyone about meditation techniques? Do you meditate? How do you do that? Self taught? Guided?
I am soon going to a Bhuddhist temple with my son to try meditation, he is interested and I am happy to try too. I learned TM decades ago, which is still a useful technique, not something I could have learned myself or from a you tube video, certainly something that has to be taught person to person. I do forms of meditation myself , including shadow work, but curious as to what forms others do.
It is time to start my day, quick spa shower with bergamot then supermarket ( in civvies of course) with OH. picking up DD from a sponsored sleepover so she will be exhausted. It is being held at her dance studio ( she is one of the adults) but the children get very excited and find it hard to sleep- lots of midnight squealing, popcorn and hot chocolate.
I hope everyone has a magical day.
